I agree...the show needs a bit of levity which no character is providing right now and the main dance have not started yet, it's like everyone is putting on a perpetual frown...I doubt it will reach the heights of the book, just look at the potrayal of Ser Criston who is made to be like a pvvssy obsessed fvcktard when compared to his subtle characterization in the books

The ring of power episode 5 is 8/10 for me.

The first 10 minutes of the show made me feel like i was watching the old Lords of the rings, so many goosebumps moments in less than then minutes and then the music the little girl sang summed it all, i had to rewatch the first ten minutes over and over and over again.
The camera genius used in the city of Numero is nothing like we have ever seen before in the world of television, each time Numero is being shown, i just wonder and doff my hat for Amazon, money well spent.

Who saw the way the horses were being lifted into the ships?
Even though the series was like 100s of years ago before the event of the Lord of the rings. The architecture and technical knowledge, the inventions in The city of Numero was the invention of the future, even the days of the Lords of the rings didn't have what we have seen in the city of Numero.

Now the story is building up, i kind of hope the queen Regent Stays till season 2 seeing the way she disobeyed her father who told her not to go to the middle Earth.

I can't wait for the real battle to begin but for the mean time, the ring of power is GOATED.
The show is a kind of show that lives in your memory forever.

I got to ask tho, why is it always females telling the men to stand and fight. One would think they're as courageous and powerful in real life as they are in the LOTR.

It has never been recorded anytime in history where women were that "brave" to lead men to battle.

Anyways in 6 months time there'll be a nuclear war, i hope America's "powerful" and "brave" women would be leading the frontlines just like their heros Galadriel & Bronwyn. No more hiding and fleeing. They MUST STAND and FIGHT - in Galadriel's voice

Oh and i forgot to mention that Galadriel is borrinng as hell. And her voice is irritating.

Short review to avoid spoilers so I won't mention anything outside the first 40mins...

It is based on a True-Life Story
It follows a man who had to leave his family behind and travel to Suriname, a country most people don't know exist, for greener pastures (I legit had to Google the country)

He gets entangled with the Chinese mob, drug cartels, the corrupt government etc in this new country

The show is solid and to be honest, nothing seemed to go as I predict... (I have a habit of trying to guess where series/movies are going)


My biggest complaint however is the spoken English...
Many deals are made by different people who are mostly not native English speakers, mostly Chinese, Koreans, Brazilians etc...and I get they are locals who struggle with English but hearing them speak terrible English was annoying at times ...

The English is so terrible that sometimes I switch the dual audio to English dubbed just to make it bearable, the English is just too distracting and kills immersion

I still have gave it an 8/10 because I don't want to judge the show by the English spoken by non-native speakers

Anyway I don't wanna mention much about the plot or characters cos it would be major spoilers
