My own elder brother hates Akwai Ibom people because of what one of them did to him, which caused him to be depressed and suicidal at the time.

Actually that's not a case of tribalism. She was acting from a personal experience that she's still dealing with. I have an Igbo in-law and I'm proud to say that he's one of the most sensible and gentlemanly persons that exist on Earth. Her only crime is that she's voicing out. She's not a tribalist. She's being realistic. I was like you before (not judging people by their ethnic origin). Until I lived in a place having more than 3 yiibos in the same place (during my NYSC). They changed my mind quickly. When I went to live in the north the common denominator I found among many people of different ethnic groups I met is their agreement that yiibos are not the type of people to have living around you. I even worked in an office where it almost became a policy not to have more than 2 yiibos employed at the same time because of their distruptive nature.
