Gurus in the house, please help a brother before he gets lost. I got admission to centennial college for a diploma in financial services. I have a 2.1 degree in biochemistry with 13years of banking experience. I Am scared of making the initial deposit and applying for a study permit as a friend told me that the course is lower than my initial degree and could lead to suspicion by the VO.
Please help clarify my doubt biko.

Thank you.

you are not considering other critical factors such as source of funds being stable enough to continually provide income to the applicant over the duration of their study. if it is someone whose source of income will be significantly impact due to his absence from duty post during study, you think it will be illogical to ask for providing PoF for the duration of the study. So after paying you 1st year tuition, and consuming your cost of living for year 1. what happens to your welfare if you are unable to secure a well paying employment, or things turn around for your income / sponsor since they only showed 1 year PoF.

Let us just reason this thing and look at it from a third party point of view without sentiments. These VOs are plain objective and logical beings... some may be linient and consider the overall weight of your eligibility points, that doesnt invalidate the individual requirements and their criticality when packaging your application. Lets be direct with our consideration too.

I understand where you are coming from I think self sponsors also have to consider this but I did mention applicants should show solid proof of income, but the scenerio may be different for self applicants as they depend solely on themselves.

I’m not an agent and really, no one really knows how these people operate. However, here is what I think:

I don’t think you should include it. Another way to look at it is to think through all the online profiles and interactions you’ve had. Have you ever declared your MBA publicly online? If not, then consider to declaring it in your application.

Ordinarily, an academic masters, which is want you’re going for, is different from an MBA, but like someone rightly said, it all depends on the VO. You don’t want to leave anything to chance and try to keep it simple. The more complicated your case, the more difficult it is for a VO to understand, the more time it takes and the higher the denial chances.

For the proof of funds @frankielilbaby is correct as far as I know. Most of these guys go on student loans to finance their college education and they know it’s tough. All you have to do is show PoF for the first year tuition and living expenses. No stress.

And sometimes, all these financial reasons for denial are generic and denials are often a result of a plethora of issues. Best bet is to put forward a very strong and properly indexed SOP to address the concerns a lot of people have highlighted here.

The MBA is on my LinkedIn profile. This has been declared online in so many instances.

Thanks for your input

Is it only me that thinks that if nigerians' study permit applications were going to he same visa office as the Indians our approval rate will have a significant difference? I may be wrong but I just wonder? I know India is still a developing country so surely they also don't have thousands of Canadian dollars lying around in their accounts so why is their approval rate triple the rate of nigerians a food for thought

Good evening everyone,

First off I want to say thank you for important information being passed here. It has really been helpful.

Please I have a question. For Application submitted via the new ircc platform, are we required to fill and submit some IMM forms? if so, can someone be kind to list them form me.

Thank you in anticipation.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by olokings(m): 8:54pm On Oct 10, 2022
my GCMS notes never came till day.

Although it was 75 days delay as at date when i recieved PPR.

When i engaged them, i was told it will be delayed (processed) in excess of 45 + additional 30/60/90 days factorial.

Perhaps this is new information.

makano:
Hello Aduragbeni

Wait for 100 days for what? That is too long, I haven't seen GCMS notes take that long.

The stipulated time for GCMS notes is 30days, but we have seen some taking 40 - 50 days to be ready.. Max 60 days but not 100 days.. Please be guided..

Peace

The lesson is in what you change.

It will be nice to share that. So lots of other folks here can learn from that and save themselves huge pitfalls.

The prayer part, highly subjective.

makano:
Your assumption is on point.. Sometimes Visa approval depends on the kinda Visa Officer that attends to an application..

Early this year I had a case of an applicant who got refused and contacted me, after reviewing the whole of her application, I told her this application of hers can actually get her a study permit Visa, she was suggesting Judicial Review (JR) but I told her no need of JR cos its is expensive and time consuming..

I just adjusted some things in her SOP and drafted her LOE, and we re-applied with the same documents (no addition, no subtraction) she submitted in her refused application.. And she got her Visa in 2 months time...

We ordered for her GCMS notes, despite getting approved cos I wanted to check something and I discovered her re-application was handled by a different Visa officer..

That is why atimes I do tell applicants, one prayer you all should be praying is that "Let my application get to the hands of the right Visa Officer, the Visa officer that will favour my application".

Peace

Congrats to the PPR recipient of today surely your visa officer must be a very hard-working man/woman unlike my lazy ass visa officer eligibility review since 24th of September nawa oh us he counting the number of letters in my SOP? Lol.
Anyways God still dey he will finish what he has started in the lives of all PPR hopefuls.
I wanted to be a silent reader but I think SOMEONE brought out my talkative side.

I kind of agree with makano. In as much as prayer is subjective, humans aren't robots.
In as much as they work with facts and figures, their approval/rejection could still be subject to emotions at that point in time.
A very typical example can be found in football referees.

oh, please excuse my misinformation.

I only pointed that out so folks do not go packaging akara application supported with prayers grin.

However, the point of interest for me is what was done differently in the reapplication. If that part is trade secret, no qualms, can ignore.

@ birchwood,

It's not all about how many pages or words that matters however, a standard SOP should deliver atleast the following:

A) Your Brief Profile/Introduction
B) why Canada, school and program
C) Economic/future prospects of your program
D) Proof of funds ....POF
E) Home & Economic Ties.

I hope this helps.

True na. A ref can either be lenient or strict in their officiating. And in both cases, can still be said to have officiated properly.

Depends on the diploma you applied for.
If its post-secondary diploma its lower, but if it's advanced diploma you're good to go. Check the certificate type to confirm this.

Goto your student portal on myunb

click on "international students payments"

click on "CIBC International Student Pay".

select "No" to recruiter / agent

Input your Country & Region, and "Amount" you wish to pay. in Canadian Dollar

The System will initiate and give you the various options for payment, one of which is the US Dollar Equivalent to be paid via "Bank Wire".

Select the "Bank Wire" Option and an Invoice will be generated on screen and also to your email.

Take that, attach the usual docs, such as int'l passport, LOA, Ungergrad Certs, etc. and submit a tuition pay request on the Nig. Trade Sys. as Form A

ciao.
