mostob: I'll like you to watch the highlights and you'll see what I am saying. It wasn't even explored at all. We don't have height as an advantage. Yes, we may lost some of the short throws, but it's better than losing all the long throws. 1 Like |

I like the fact that the Flamingoes went for a short-passing game today. I believe this change from the long-ball strategy vs Germany, enabled the team to create more scoring chances and kept the New Zealanders chasing shadows for most of the match. We will need more of the same on Monday vs Chile. 2 Likes |

codemaniacs: That doesn't look like a twerk na abi? Moreso, many female players do something more extreme during celebration. Go search for Alisha Lehman. Her celebration ehn. BTW, I think we should be more concerned about the bigger picture (winning matches) than ordinary celebration. 1 Like 1 Share |

mostob: It's football not war... the game can be won and lost in the 1st half... Flamingoes were leading and only had one player defending... luckily for the Flamingoes, New Zealand's didn't score... there should be at least 2 players at the back when its 0 - 0 or 3 - 4 players when Flamingoes are leading... Flamingoes didn't have a defense line and don't know how to "pack the bus"... If they had defended or "packed the bus" with 9 players ( changing to 6-3-1 ) against Germany then they would have won or at worst drawn the match... and this means Flamingoes have no counter-attacking pattern or style because if they are leading then they should switch to counter attacking game... If Super Falcons had packed the bus against Morocco when they leading then Super Falcons would have gotten to the AWCON final... Its now obvious to me that Nigerian coaches and foreign coaches they hired don't know how to defend and switch formations during a match to favor the team... 4 Likes |

codemaniacs:1. The war part was an idiomatic expression. 2. A game can be won or lost at full time not half time. 3. Flamingo was on the front foot throughout so why should they defend? BTW the best form of defend is attack. 4. The fact that you park the bus doesn't guarantee that your opponent won't score. 5. They lost to Germany partly because of missed chances and poor officiating. 6. The coach's tactic was working throughout so why should he changed it? 1 Like 1 Share |

mostob:1. English is not my language so I don't care about knowing its expressions. I take everything in basic meaning 2. Most teams don't stage a come back if the score is 8 - 0 in the 1st half.. 3. The best form of attack is to hold possession in the opponents half of the pitch and ensure that counter attacks are stopped. 4. Pack the bus ensures there are more players in defense so If one defender is beaten then another player can block the opposition attacker.. the 1st goal that Germany scored was due to ball watching and lack of high number of players defending the corner. the 2nd goal was due to the defender trying to intercept the pass and no other player to cover for her.... If they packed the bus then there would have been another player to stop the attacker. 5. All referees will be against African teams so its important to score many goals which would nullify any favouritism from the referee towards the other team. 6. If the coach's tactic were working then we wouldn't have lost that match... and he should have changed it once the Flamingoes were leading by telling one of the midfielders to drop to defense or change to a counter attacking formation.. 1 Like 1 Share |

Omoh the gals need to work more in converting their chances. They could av scored like 5 in the 1st half and that's me been lenient sha. With the way things stand, they're gonna face USA in the quarter finals. They need to up their game especially been clinical in front of goal. 6 Likes 1 Share |

BascoVanVeli: Ajakaye has the pace of a Winger. I feel that will be her role as she goes up the ladder. Mosaku and Adeshina having better headers than shots in the box. Same for the team in general. Why the urge to curl all shots? Evident that was a training project in camp. They need to get volleys. The wings are still a problem, but passing is better. We need to see what the bench can offer. I love the 3&4th goals though. They nee6d space and they got just that to shoot. Ajakaye on LRC all through. If we lead Chile by 1st half, she should be rested. 2 Likes 1 Share |
