Somewhere from 'Global South', not from Ticha's down under. This time from Mandela's SA: they reckon that Liz Truss's political journey takes perilous new twist. JustSayingNio | But then, the game just starting!!! Hum, the more I read of Liz days from Scotland, upbringing, beef with the 'Royal', entry into politics and 'navigating' within, the more, hummmm ...

UK's embattled Prime Minister Liz Truss told: 'The game is up'
www.news24.com/news24/world/news/uks-embattled-prime-minister-liz-truss-told-the-game-is-up-20221016
- Labour calls for election amid 'disgraceful' economic plan | 16 Oct
- UK's Conservatives say the party faces electoral oblivion under PM Liz Truss' leadership.
- Truss has promised to reboot her economic programme.
- Confidence in Truss has dropped since the unveiling of a right-wing programme in September.
- Game is up says senior Tory MP.

Britain's Prime Minister Liz Truss on Sunday vied to reboot her economic programme, but Conservative critics warned the party faces electoral oblivion under her crippled leadership.
With even US President Joe Biden joining in attacks on her libertarian platform, Truss admitted it had been a "wrench" to fire her friend Kwasi Kwarteng as chancellor of the exchequer on Friday.
But writing in the Sun on Sunday newspaper, she said: "We cannot pave the way to a low-tax, high-growth economy without maintaining the confidence of the markets in our commitment to sound money."
That confidence was jeopardised on 23 September when Kwarteng and Truss unveiled a right-wing programme, inspired by 1980s US president Ronald Reagan, of 45 billion ($50 billion) in tax cuts financed exclusively by higher debt.
Markets tanked in response, driving up borrowing costs for millions of Britons, and the Conservatives' poll ratings have similarly slumped, leading to open warfare in the governing party mere weeks after Truss succeeded Boris Johnson.
"I think the game is up, and it's now a question as to how the succession is managed," senior Tory MP Crispin Blunt said on Channel 4. ... ... ...
kode12:
Liz Truss will be more of a ceremonial prime minister going forward. I think she'd realise that she's made a series of major mistakes now, and no one really wants to hear whatever she has to say, so she's going to prop J.H forward as much as possible.

Hello everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well.

Please I need advise concerning my future plans, I’m torn between remaining in the uk or starting express entry to immigrate to Canada. Please between Canadian and UK which country would you advise ? & why

P/S I’m just a few months old in the uk currently pursuing my mba, I’m doing okay financially although not gotten sponsorship yet and I have more than 6 years experience in the operations & administrative industry

Please I really need help with this to avoid making a mistake I’ll regret.

What a coincidence! Didn’t see your comment b4 bringing this up.

Anyways, since you are familiar with the UK a bit, research more on Canada and do o a Pros n Cons analysis on both in areas you are interested in.
Or better still, if you have specific areas you want help, you can list them and folks here will wade in

If you can get a PR, Canada is the best bet. Getting sponsorship here is also good but if you dont like the job, you may not want to start the process all over again. But for Canada PR, you can change a job as you like once you have PR. And with UK situation now, things are becoming unstable. I know every economy in the world is suffering right now but I will still say you should try Canada

Please I need advice about my child high school allocation in Salford . We just got a letter from the council that there is no space in all the schools we applied for except we if can consider another nearby high school that is ready to accept her. On checking the ofsted rating of the school I discovered that it rated " need improvement" and I am not comfortable at all about some not too good review I was getting about the school being a 90% all white school and they are notorious for bullying kids of other minority race.
I am at delimmna here whether to accept the school or not and the condition I am given if I am not accepting the school that I will need to give a convincing reason why I am not accepting it and I will need to tell them the provision I will take to educate my child till I get another school as the waiting list will be up to 31st of December for other schools.
Abeg advice me o .

Hi House,
Quick question on auto loan/using credit card to fund a new car. Is it advisable? Nothing fancy...just a small car for mobility (public transport is a huge waste of time. Journey of 20mins will take 1hr because of round and round shuttle.) So the car budget is less than £5k automatic, small engine. Idea is to get something comfortable to also use to build credit score rather than buying outright. Has anyone done it? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Anytime I hear Australia, the first that comes to my mind is snake grin grin grin. It's a rather irrational phobia, but the fear of snakes have made me pass on Australia as a vacation location so many times.

I have a few friends there, they never mention snakes or whatever. I think its a general misconception for people who dont live there. I used to think same too until i decided to make some research myself and I started to love the country (remains my Number 1 choice)

Its like mentioning Nigeria and boko haram, I never see terrorist before for my life grin

I can't offer any insight on the subject, sorry, but I'd recommend you check the parenting in UK thread. I'd imagine there are more people who can give informed and practical advice there.

This depends the interest rate on the credit card .......

If you have those credit builder cards, with humongous Apr rates....... Don't attempt it, unless you intend to clear up your cc bill, within a month or 2 ........ cheesy

True. I guess it’s because of the distance. Australia is a great country too with perfect weather. It can be very expensive to live though
