Thanks for this...In addition, the more loan you have shows you are credit worthy...Creditors are always willing to do business with you... Infact they will be begging you because they know you have the means to pay back..
Exactly.

Who will borrow Abia state loan in the first place when the governor is even struggling to build the first flyover in the state since inception.

Your credit worthiness matters which explain why most states with high finances usually go for more loans. If the lending agent see that you don’t have the means to pay off the loan, they won’t make the mistake of borrowing you in the first place.

Lagos has an IGR of over 700b.

What is Lagos doing with it?

Is there a welfare scheme for the poor, aged or physically challenged.?

This is what places with high revenues do for their people.

What is the essence of the IGR if not to benefit tinubu and his crew?

I am very impressed with Edo state, despite the pittance it receives from the center it is still able to look inwards generate such huge amount compared to huge states like Kano and the rest.
Thumbs-up to Gov. Obaseki to his dogged leadership.

I know you're from the North and will not like to see Lagos prospering.

Bendel state or Mid West would have been the most prosperous region in Nigeria if left as it was.

Omo! Lagos dey para o! shocked
See East of the North and South dragging position with each other.
But seriously this is poor. No state in Nigeria should be generating less than N200billion annually.

Thank you NBS

I think the amount allocated to Lagos is wrong. Dangote has been doing a lot of business and paying so much tax to Lagos government, the money should be deducted and given to Kano before hunger finish hi brothers up north grin

A whole Kano, with over 10 million people in population is doing only 40 billion with Edo sitting on top of Kano, looking over its head grin

Bini no dey carry last abeg

South west #972 billion
North West #174 billion Only?
Haba, upon all the landmass, and small South west is still beating them silly? grin

Lagos should just buy over Yobe state grin

Proudly Lagosian grin grin grin
Is IGR allocated or generated?

Ogun state, I hail o! 99pct increase no be beans
Re: NBS Release IGR Data Ranking Chart For Nigerian States by LegendHero(m): 6:27pm On Oct 18, 2022
I think Nigerian states generally are broke.

See Ogun for example, generating only 100 billion in a year and yet it is the fourth state on the list.

How much project can 100billion service for a state with all their expenditure and projects that need to be delivered.

Thank God for FAAC. If not, some states in the bottom of that list will just fold up coz the government won’t be able to survive for just 1 month.

Why is it that IPOB terrorists generally are bitter people?

Lagos recorded that high lead and instead of at least commending the government on the topic, you had to smuggle Tinubu in to show your bitterness.

The lunatic Obi the fugitive that governed Anambra couldn’t set up a clear path for the state revenue to grow which led to Soludo borrowing over 100billion in his first 100 days as governor.

USA is the most indebted country in the world, yet they are the number one economy in the world. Loans does not neccessarily mean you are doing bad, it is what you do with the loans that matter.

In Lagos, we are building light rail, something your Igbo governors right from Azikiwe days never dared achieved. We attracted refineries, deep seaports, and etc. while your people continue to hate and hate and hate.

What has your hate led you to?
Lagos earning huge IGR still the most indebted state in Nigeria, yet most of the mega projects are being funded by FG, Private firms
Lekki Bridge PPP funded by Julius Berger, Eko Atlantic Chagouri family, Blue line project FG, Lekki Sea port Chinese government Lagos is smallest by Landmass largely covered by siumbs, 3rd worst city to live in

Kaduna and Kano are performing better than South East

AllTheWayUp:
Okowa you are performing well.
Obaseki great job
Delta and Edo State (BENDEL) representing well
Why do you say governors are performing well for raising IGR from the people's pockets without ensuring that the governors are also providing commensurate services, facilities, utilities etc.
For example, since Obaseki increased IGR by over 50%, should he not have increased teachers and school enrolment by over 50% as well?
Is it smart to give someone money without getting equal products/services for the amount given?
Think am well o.

Maybe you will appreciate the Lagos State govt when they start giving N500 to pregnant women for child delivery like the Abia governor.

Would have made sense if we were better off with these figures

If the life of the man in the state with the least is same or better than the man in the state with the highest them this report is another scandal

Dont use the US in your comparison. The US has the dollar as world reserve currency and so it is artificially inflated. The US will never have to pay it astronomical debt . All it will do is print more paper money. Same cannot be said of any state in Africa.
