happney65: I am grateful but there is something Ogun is yet to unlock. During the Obasanjo era, there was talk about the Lagos-Ogun Mega city project. You can't be having Lagos in your backyard and not taking a good bite of the Lagos Market, Yes am seeing some good movements but the state needs to open up more. The most impressive project I have seen is the Lagos-Ibadan rail track going through Ogun state. I need to see more stuff like that that will unlock the state more. The State needs more express roads (Trunk A roads) entering in and out of Lagos. Easier movement through rail, road, and even by water is key to unlocking the state completely. If the state needs to do lots of outsourcing to Lagos state to make it possible let it happen, no egos it's all about development and everyone benefits which will rub off on Oyo state too, and unlock the entire SW altogether. That's what I want to see. 4 Likes 1 Share |

SouthSouth1914: Did you notice that states that comes out of Western region performed better than other states. The impact of Baba Awo, regional government really have positive impact on these states. This is a prove that the Yorubas are better administrators. Let's give Tinubu a chance, he will do better 5 Likes 1 Share |

Ttalk: His vision, foresight and superb administrative skills created the industrial estates in the Western Regions, the industrial estates are still today responsible for Nigeria's main industrial output. Lagos is the economic capital of Nigeria simply because of the estates producing industrial and household goods and services .. The abolition of regionalism killed the SW's advancement and industrialization, but thanks to the new st of wonderful leaders in Lagos, we are still ahead.. 3 Likes |

Racoon: IPOBians can never hide their bitter nature. Did you note the bolded below and what it means for the SE and future of ala Igbo? Keep putting hateful mouth in Lagos affair while the SE continues to move backwards. Just note that Lagos and the SW won't continue to accept refugees from the badly-led and regressing SE because of some redundant 'one Nigeria' nonsense. Fix up or your kids will face a break future.. You Igbos should be weeping at the difference between the SW and her nearest competitor the SS. Almost 700 billion. Very scary for Nigeria and even scarier for the SW and SS because both are looking like the only viable regions in Nigeria while clearly you loudmouth haters and empty chestbeaters from the SE are just worthless. IGR by zones in 2021 shows that the south-west zone recorded the highest revenue, totalling N972.6 billion; followed by the south-south zone with N313.6 billion, while the north-east zone recorded the least internally generated revenue with N78.3 billion. 2 Likes |

Ttalk: Of course. We are the best in Nigeria by far though we have our own problems too but those problems we can resolve once free of 'one Nigeria' encumbrance. This is why we should agitate non-stop for what our Governors are demanding below regardless of who becomes President after Buhari. Under regional Governance I can see the SW on par with South Africa in less than 8 years and perhaps similar to the UK within 12 to 15 years. 1 Like

Racoon: You don't have Tinubu in your ipob enclave to loot your money, but you are still always at the bottom of everything in Nigeria, you are still the poorest, your ipob enclave is the poorest and the ost unproductive in Nigeria, you are still at kerosene and borehole level. ....so, what is your excuse? Is Tinubu also responsible for your misery, is Tinubu also forcing you to sit at home like slaves instead of working and staying productive? 2 Likes |

Ttalk: even delta and edo which came out of the western region are even impressive though with Oil, delta should be doing far better. But my point here is there is a template and model Baba Awo had that is magical that perhaps needs to be looked into again and with some improvements be used especially by SW states to improve. Awo had a complete self-sufficiency plan, especially for the agric sector with dairy farms and farm settlements whereby by now we may not even be importing any farm produce into the SW if we had continued with such a plan. 1 Like 1 Share |
