That's not luck , it's what the team has worked on in training, the better team won today

I'm sure if Nigeria had lost you will blame the coach

Like Naija in 2010, Like Naija in 2022: De Ja Vu vs USA

In 2010, at the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Germany, Nigeria's Falconets defeated a Sydney Leroux-led USA 4-2 on penalties after 1-1 in extra time.

Today, in 2022 at U17 WC level, Nigeria's U17 Flamingoes just beat Heavy Favourites, USA 4-3 on penalties after 1-1 in regulation time.

Helen Ukaonu scored in regulation time in 2010 and also was one of the Penalty Scorers in the 4-2 penalty shoot-out win.

Edafe today scored in regulation time and was also one of the penalty Scorers in the 4-3 shoot-out win. She scored the decisive penalty.

De Ja Vu, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Nigeria is USA's Bogey Team at Women's age grade competitions. grin

There are six other nigerian players that havent played, she doesnt get an automatic ticket cause she's foreign based, if you've watched her play and seen she has something to add to the team, then that's different.

I was glad the ref didn't penalize her... maybe if she had caught it the ref would have asked for it to be re-taken..

The first two pks from both sides had early reaction that needed retaking. I guess the ref was signalled to warn them for the 3rd. Glad Jiwuaku listened asap. Almiral want dey do intimidation by giving the ball to our pk takers. grin

You have to give it to the girls' defending, they allowed only 4 shots on target in the last 3 matches.

There is no homework or work this coach did to stop any, any, as in, any of the tactics of the americans. And that's a fact. He didn't even notice the tactical tweaking, twice in the first half. He got his fresh leg subs correct though. It's not admission of we no get midfield. It is simple because he no sabi. Make we dey tok true abeg.

This win is a rough and hard win. If the americans won, it would be natural for journalists to highlight all their attacking moves and stats. We didn't soak any, we got lucky.
