Please can someone explain the brazil visa duration for me.

For example I want to be in Brazil in June
and I applied for visa in January. If I am issued, does the visa issue date cover 3 months or you can only stay for 3 months.

let me try to explain it to you.

You get a three months visa (Permit to travel and enter ) from June 30th to September 30th, so you can enter anytime from June 30th to September 29th and your 3 months starts counting from the day you entered brazil, just like the way its done in the US. If you entered brazil July 25th, you 3 months starts counting from July to Oct. (Permit to stay).

I am open to corrections though.

I’m thinking you should enter and leave before September 30th. If you stay beyond September 30th, then it’s illegal.you would have overstayed your visa

When I travelled to brazil last year, I left nigeria 3 weeks after my visa was issued and at the point of entry, i was stamped in for 90 days, which means my 90 days started counting from the day i entered and not from the day my visa was issued.

Yes I had travel history to Uk, US, Schengen States..etc

If you don't have travel history, you will have to convince them why you want to go all the way to south America. Also funds in your account may help a little bit if you don't have travel history.

Your travel history is good .

The funds in your account should be more than the amount you will spend in your trip

Visit the embassy website, everything you need is there.

But prepare your six-month bank statement.

3 months is what they need, but if you have 6 months, you can submit.

3 or 6 months, what matters is that you have funds for your trip.
