justicechichex:you're right... but our defense and midfield gave her space.. whereas the Colombian defenders just maintained their position and Flamingoes strikers didn't have space that is what I expect Flamingoes defenders to do but they don't have a defense line and another defender is always deeper than the other. |

codemaniacs:Yeah i remember Espitaleta, Guzmán, Perlaza, Ortegón and Linda Caicedo played in the U20 World Cup in Costa Rica. Caicedo was there best player too in the U20, she scored 2 vs New Zealand and she's already a full international having made her debut for their Snr Team at the age of 15, with 15 Caps and 4 goals. I'm Hoping that Flourish is nurtured and given similar opportunities in the national team too as she seems to be the standout amongst attackers since 2016 in our women's age grade teams. This is where we always have a problem in West Africa, especially Nigeria. We do not have succession plans. You can count how many of our U17/U20 teams both men and women have made the transition from Jnr Football to Snr Football and went on to have successful careers on one hand since the turn of the millennia. ( e.g The last U17 World cup That Nigeria Participated in, Only 3 Players has made it to the National team and are a success story. Nnadozie, Ajibade, Ucheibe and maybe we can throw in Peace Efih. and Glory Ogbonna in there ) We see this in every facet of the country too, we do not have a blue print/master plan, follow up and succession plan in everything done in that country. You can see the state of infrastructures, economic growth, education. Even our sports hasn't grown in the past 20 years but rather has regressed. We always start from the beginning whenever we wanna do anything because there was none existing before or the already existing ones weren't maintained and have been left to rot. It doesn't help that we always put unqualified and clueless individuals to oversee the affairs of the other 220+ million individuals in this country so we never even get a desirable outcome to begin with. |

ThePresenceWtf:Nigerians are groomed to rely on prayer ( religion ) and hope instead of creating multiple masterplans, training to abide and adher to the masterplans and having other plans that improve the original masterplan incase the original masterplan doesn't work or becomes obsolete.. |

justicechichex:Thank you so much for this. Were these girls the best in the land? i think maybe not, did they give it their all? I don't know. I know that nepotism and corruption is rife in the nation, but regardless, I believe these girls worked hard to be where they are today and i wouldn't wanna undermine their effort and hard work or anyone else for that matter, especially when said person or entity is representing our beautiful nation ( I know...Lol, But Still ) in a positive light. It's a dream come true for some of these girls ( Including the guys too ) to be an ambassador and represent their nation while also being able to provide for their families. Should we expect better from them? Definitely....and a just criticism may also be warranted, but i just wanna wish everyone of them well in their future endeavors and career. I hope they get better in future and be in a position to represent themselves and the nation better. |

codemaniacs:Totally agree. I guess the idea of training sessions is one warped and old school format in the head of most local coaches. We kept doing as if we are experts in pk-meaning we supposed to have that in training The Late Yemi Tella's u17 that became champs that year, we were glad to hear thar they took hours training for pk immediately the KO stages began. Now if they were all scared, those hours will increase confidence so fast, especially for the Gk. Only to hear from commentator that Bankole no even get pk list, and then seeing nobody eager to go take a pk. Yes, it happens. But just shows the cluelessness of this particular coaching crew. They just allow presido to waste flight money. |

In hindsight the coach might have been a little too nice to his players. Why on earth would almost all your attackers not take a pen in 2 straight matches? With the way the coach had longer throat for pens I was expecting the players to come out like machines but what I saw were scared little girls. |

Deltamani:A very sad and horrifying fact. They can't even read a game their opponents' formation and tactics and how to neutralize it in an instant. This archaic format of maintaining your initial formation sef ehn. Besides, in this competition, we used 442 majorly. All pf a sudden, he changed it to 532. That 532 made Bello and Etim(bad pairing) to be up front. To make matters worse, he subbed off the same Bello that makes our attack tick and left both Moshaku and Etim on. Ajakaye could barely make any impact. The understanding Bello has with her, into thin air. 532 changed to 433 Not even the usual 442 he's been using all through the game. Making Afolabi Totally overwhelmed in the middle. Then that bench just has no lifeline. Ineptitude of the highest. The NFF has to start demanding for the best if we want to move up. But quota system veil will continue to deceive them. What next for him now? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 9:38pm On Oct 26, 2022 |
BascoVanVeli:A clueless coach that has barely been silent from the touchline for 10mins in over 400mins of football would never see that. I doubt he even feels like he has a bench. |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 9:42pm On Oct 26, 2022 |
That Linda Caicedo will definitely go to the world cup next year. We can't say same for any 3players from the combo of our u17 and u20 teams. Add the Coach we have for the Super Falcons right now and it becomes even worse. |

On a norms, this female cadet team jobs should have women as top priority for the job. It will foster a growing system of more female coaches in Nigeria. |

AkinDS:Demehin and Imuran have 95% Chance of going to the World Cup but the likes of Deborah Abeodun, Flourish Sabastine doesn’t even have 50% chance… Abeodun have seasoned Midfielders like Halimatu Ayinde, Regina Otu, Christy Ucheibe to contend with for a spot.. And among this 3 only 2 that can start alongside an attacking Midfielder. As the look might be Randy might want to bring in Rita Chikwelu for experience and her Last World Cup participation… Halimatu Ayinde Christy Ucheibe Regina Otu Ngozi Okobi Tony Payne * Rita Chikwelu *Peace Efih * Deborah Abeodun * Onyi Echegini |

The fools in Nigeria are trooping out to blame the goalkeeper. What a bunch of idiots. If this team played with iota of mental presence and skillset known to have been associated with soccer, there should have been no need for the shootout. |

Their position are stocked up, If Esther Okoronkwo gets back to form which she will definitely go to the World Cup and it’s certain by January/February she should be playing fully cause right now she’s trying out individual training already.. Esther Okoronkwo, Uchenna Kanu on the Left Wing as their main position and you think Flourish Sabastine can dispose them off? Francisca Ordega is in top form right now in Russia, She plays Left or Right Wing, You think Flourish stand a chance? Rasheedat Ajibade? Asisat, Onumonu and Desire for sure owns the no.9 with Asisat looking more like a Player that would come in from the Flank.. If Desire Oparanozie return, Maclean’s is out Desire Oparanozie Asisat Oshoala Francisca Ordega Rasheedat Ajibade Ifeoma Onumonu Uchenna Kanu Esther Okoronkwo Who do you guy’s think we beat this top7 Ladies to the Striking position of the Superfalcons?? Anam IMO Chiwendu Ihezuo Maclean’s Chinonyerem Vivian Ikechukwu Flourish Sabastine |

BascoVanVeli:Nor mind this people them, even Tochukwu Oluehi have not been able to get back the No.1 spot is the Young Omilana that still need years of grooming and top performance that want to dethrone Chiamaka w.. They think is by U17…. Not even U20 yet |

AndSunGorilla:Thank you! Nigerians - not human beings, are always like that. The man was not even boasting, he's just being optimistic and is sharing the optimism to the players and fans alike, even though he's not putting in enough work to back it up. Still, that's what a good coach would do. Or were they expecting him to say, "Omo, we go too collect for Colombia hand next tomorrow?" Make una free baba abeg. |
