You don't get it, do you? This thread is above you, please check others.

Humans are naturally selfish which is why I now look out for myself first. Even when I have children, I will still look out for myself first before them. If I don't secure my retirement and save enough for my old age, I'm not leaving a dime for the modafucckers in my sperm now because chances are they will look out for themselves first too. Everybody should go and find work. sad

In as much as we live in a society with inordinate amount of riches juxtaposed with poverty one will always wonder about the true state of the human nature. I went to the shopping Mart to get on or two confectionery namely bubble gum and a moisturizer on my way out from the entrance which also serves as the exit I saw a lady being rushed by these children who always beg for alms numbering almost a dozen, she shooed them away and drove off. I have not seen anyone help these kids I have always pitied and my heart always gets mad whenever i see people brush them off while clutching onto their items. So while retrieving my sling bag from the security corner I sighted a man well dressed sunglasses, shoes on fleek middle aged man with a slight white patch on his beard he gave this kids I think a hundred naira notes about two or three while he continued bouncing in with his babe. As I proceeded outside these kids rushed me like those demons I watched in doctor strange multiverse of madness grin I tried to ignore them like we all do suddenly I was hit with a feeling the unmistakable feeling of thrist so I hissed to a young satchel water seller a little girl of about nine or ten when she came these kids where still clawing around me I took a satchel of water and asked the most eldest of the beggars to pay for me obviously I had seen him collect all the money earlier. All of a sudden this kids pretend not to hear me and started to avoid eye contact with me just like everyone around treats them some started to slowly moon slide away from me the eldest one being the one with all the money avoided eyecontact and walked away slowly pretending not to hear me,they gave me same treatment everyone gives them I smiled ;DI opened my sling bag from my 5k change I singled out 20 naira paid and entered Keke there and then I smiled I wanted to give them 2k if they had paid twenty naira, from the money the man had given them I have lost sympathy a bit for them and it goes to show how greedy man is everybody wants to take but no one wants to give I had same experience with some friends I paid for accommodation years back when I needed help they left me in the dust

Try dey format your writeup na

You don't use the spacebar to create paragraphs, not even on a computer nor cellphone. You use the Enter button and it moves your paragraphs downwards. Just push Enter twice and that's a paragraph.

Cheers.

It's better to give than to receive. Don't wait for others to help or give you first before reciprocating.

Pray not to be on the other side of life. Being the one always in need is a terrible feeling.

There are guys whom seem very stingy. They eat without meat, trek long distance and don't dress well. It's easy to label such people as stingy and a suffer head, however, most of these people will ball and be cheerful givers if they were actually blessed. They're just trying to stretch their last kobo to as long as it can go.

I traveled a long distance to visit a friend's wife that gave birth, he couldn't offer me a bottle of drink, I planned giving him #3,000 while leaving.....guess what I did with the#3,000 when I later reached my house?
you could have given the 3k for the sake of the innocent baby… I don’t know about other tribes but Yorubas would surely buy a packet of coaster biscuit and give to whomever came for visitation.

what is this So y'all outchea testing children b4 u can bless them lol just say u never really wanted to tip them up cos wtf this life done turned into. U dead wrong
He isn't wrong. Sometimes I think about it too. I don't like giving because I'm always broke but still I always have all this small change. So I changed my mindset about giving when I have plenty to giving even the small I have now because even when you have plenty to give wouldn't be easy if you don't start giving the small you have now.

I was going to work(apprentice) one day when I saw a woman with 2 children. We made eye contact and she gestured for me to give her money to eat, I felt pity but I walked past her with #500 in my pocket, I planned on playing bet with #200 eat with #300 but I decided to give her #100. So I went to where I want to play and ask the man to give me #100 then I will play #200 so he can give me #200 change later but he said he doesn't have #100 only #200. As I was trying to go outside to go look for change the woman saw me again (she was going her way) and still begged me I wasn't the only one there but she specified me out. I just ask the man to give me the #200 and I gave her, because something just came to my mind that #200 isn't too much for this woman na and if I give her I would not die. She was so happy and I was happy that I made her happy. She was praying but I wasn't interested in her prayers even though I said amen because I know the universe will give me back in many fold. I played the game with the mindset that the game will come as I've sacrificed. I went to the place as I was coming back in the evening to check my game, I game spoilt it I became sad I played another ticket which were midnight games and I even had to quickly go home to take money to play it(remember that now I've forgotten about the money I gave the woman as the one I thought will bring my money to me as spoilt, I just played this one with a carefree mind that if it comes good if it doesn't good. I was surprised when I checked the game the next morning to win #6000. Whereas the one I played in the morning was just to win 2000+.

My point, even though those kids are beggers they couldn't even spare #20 out of over a #1000 in their hands. Even the bible said there is more blessing in giving than receiving. My only problem with the op was that he didn't teach them anything. He could have given the girl selling water #200 and tell her not to bother with change that will prick on the kids conscience and see things from other perspectives. Cos to receive you have to give.

Lol. That's a flaw most humans possess. Most times, people operate selfishly based on what will favour them.

A poor widow will maltreat her 'househelp'.
A non academic staff earning peanuts will be very rude to students.
A gateman working in a mansion will look down on a cripple begging for crumbs.
In your own case, a beggar will refuse to give, if the tides turn.

I've seen little dirty kids in the ghetto bullying weaker kids, smiling at their cries of pain until they're scolded...

People will always do whatever they want especially if they can get away with the benefits/consequences of their actions.

You did the right thing, do not mind those criticizing you here. There is a moral lesson to be learnt from your experience. If one does not share in the very little they have, they miss out on larger blessings.

Professional beggars are rippers
Exactly, that's just how the world is run. It's the mindset though. That's why I've adopted some mindset to help me give more. Like if I have money now it doesn't matter if I spent all myself or spend some and give some. So I rather give some than spend all as that even lift your spirits and that way clear off some bad energy and replace with good energy. But try give to people who deserves it.

Lol some of them travel from north to Lagos to beg
So I will rather give the aimless and no leg
Or buy bottle water in hold up give the traffic seller the remaining change

Does kids are trained to beg some of them will even hiss at you if you don’t give them money

To hell to whatever you used the money for. Though they messed up but you could have given your friend's wife the money. It shows maturity on your own side.

These people u decided to test are at the lowest of low....u should know that level their mentality is also impaired... they probably give too but not to people like you

Why? u dont look lile u are in need....just like u wont probably give one neat guy that approach u with begging format.......to them, asking them felt more like you wanted to exploit them cos u saw when they were given 300 naira.....i ddnt expect them to behave any differently

See, regardless of status or anything..

"If a man has the spirit of generosity, even a pauper would give like a prince."

Giving isn't easy.., there 1001 things I can do with the money I chose to give as alms. People must learn to share... I think the OP did well.

Becos they ddnt give the op doesnt mean they dont give.. u are looking it in black and white.... we all profile those we give money to avoid being exploited...

why will the op looking neat, fine be begging bottom of the food chain kids for money after they just collected 300 naira in his presence ....?? U seff reason am..... op just behave like agbero that wants to collect a slice of what those kids collected...

Listen bro for some time in life I've been pondering on a lot if you have ever been broke and those you helped burn ya it will take a lot to get back from I've helped niggas and when you are down everybody leaves.
I wanted to help them that is my nature but a little test reminded me of how f*d life is and how I'm the only looking out for myself and a little play or test hit it home for me

It's crazy hw ppl who dn't kno me or my struggle are in my mentions talkn crazy abt sum I careless abt, I respect pple who wanna hv matured conversation n that's Why I chose to respond to u. See bruh if there's sum ive learned at this point in my life, u can't put ur expectations of pple on them, pple will do them regardless so why not do u regardless. I guess i'm cut from a different material then, yes pple are fucced up but that won't stop me for being me, if God put me in a position to bless the hand of those kids in the streets or who eva i'm givin to, I will do it because I want to. but that's just me tho,. errbody can't be built the same. "Nobody can hv ur bacc like u, so Ion expect nighas to cum thru for me like I did for them". I can only wish they was like me.
