My problem is not dollar going back to zero , but that it doesn’t make the problems it has created to go away . Anything that goes up in Nigeria, never comes down

If oil is the principal exchange commodity of the country, and the assumption is that the value of our currency is tied to the price per barrel of oil, how come the Naira plummets in value arbitrarily, and without explanation, all when the price of oil is high? What sort of economy are we operating? A country that celebrates BLACK MARKET fx rates to the detriment of her OFFICIAL fx rates cannot be taken seriously. We're still joking with our fiscal policy with the BDCs still around. Redesign notes, raid BDC offices... All will amount to nothing on the long run. When all is said and done, and the dust settles the hydra headed demon called the BDCs would again rear up their ugly head and wreak financial havoc. Jokers!

I think the activities of bdc should be discontinued. All foreign currency transactions should be on electronic platforms. No physical holding of any foreign currency by anyone within Nigeria.

What has naira done to bounce back? What you see now is hype, naira didn't add any real value so this hype is just for a while. Look through this thread, there's a guy telling people like you to sell it off immediately, such person is gathering that same dollar. Hold your dollar.

Lol...I love your optimism but expect 900 by December and close to the election...if the election is disrupted, expect N1200....note this down and remember someone said it first on Nairaland.

Keep it there. It is temporary. A lot of things will happen in a few months that will make it shoot up again. No matter what, it still has more value. It is just a response to a weak dollar at the moment...and the US mid-term elections. We go soon hear ween.

The parallel rate is good. In the face of scarcity, everyone priotizes. Same forex used to buy condom, bone-straight hair and bleaching cream is same forex used to buy medical reusables. In a situation of scarcity, one must take priority over the other. That's how parallel rate was borne. The CBN disowned some items(41) and allow them source for forex from anywhere they like. If is pocket friendly to buy Brazilian weakon with N1000/$1, go ahead.

Continue to deceive yourself when the CBN is mopping up Naira, in three weeks when the new note comes into circulation, Aboki no go won collect the old note from you leading to Naira scarcity with lots of $ waiting to be exchanged for Naira. Let the Dangote refinery catch u with the $ you are keeping OYO go be your name
