Well... I had my reasons. I hope everyone would heed this warning because there certain people who create WhatsApp groups and promise to help participants ace all their projects. That's really dumb because people end up paying them when they're going to share copied answers.

This was the reason ALX was against it.

There's a certain human being who was able to outsmart 500+ people. He added them to the group but limited it that he is the only one that is able send message.

Same person who copied people's repo would take it to his group and demand for money, promising to help them pass the first month.

Is it about passing?
Is that what it is all about? Cause at the end of the day, if you don't learn anything then what's the essence?

I think this is why legit people like you should be creating the groups because if you don’t, criminals will seize the opportunity to lure people to their own group. Just my opinion though, I’m not insisting

Hi, I'm trying to apply for the Full Stack web development course but I'm unable to complete the application because there is no tech assessment anymore. Has it closed already?

Having a WhatsApp group isn't a bad idea, it mostly depends on the aim of the group.

Classes has been really tight that I barely have time to breathe. Today's Monday and I have class from 9am - 6pm.

I haven't opened my intranet since two days ago.

In Alx, there aren't really lectures.
However, your timeline of activities will always be on the calendar (planning) on the intranet.

It's a full-stack development program for 6months. According to them, after the 6 months, you MUST work for them as a means of paying them. Though they also pay you for while you work. But after the program, they will test your skills to know if you have the necessary skills before you go for the job

Meanwhile I wouldn't advice you rush and register just because a job is promised. Make your findings before going for anything.

Is it compulsory to join a Peer Group on PLD?
Does it affect scores?
Re: My Software Engineering Journey In ALX Africa by Obianne: 10:29am On Nov 25, 2022
Good day all, please can someone help me. My son will be writing his waec next year and he's still pretty young to enter the university. I want to engage him into something like IT for a year before he enters school. I believe so much in skills because I didn't get that opportunity when I was younger. He's actually a twin but I don't see his twin sister as a technology person that's why I'm focusing on the boy for now. I will still figure out what the girl will be doing with her time.

Not compulsory but necessary because you get to discuss previous concepts with your peers and also talk about your challenges

There are multiple options, you can allownhim engage in an online bootcamp (Microverse, Qwasar, Alx, Freecodecamp, Odin), YouTube videos are also helpful if he already have a clear path of his niche.

Meanwhile, I forgot to state that I have been added to the ROOM. You know the online platform where alx graduates are added for networking and other opportunities.

But... I'm not really inside, I do get the announcement and event but there's a limitation because I am yet to graduate as an alx student.

Well... Why was I added to the ROOM even though I haven't graduated? Well it is because I did ALX Virtual Assistant Program though I didn't not finish. That was same mail where I got the room's invitation.

Meanwhile, we're currently on Airbnb project (You can browse about Airbnb website to check the website). The Airbnb project is broken into several parts:
- The python console part for automation
- The SQL part for building the data base
- The html, css and JavaScript to build the main webpage (I look forward to this part).

Alright, I will.

Boss.. I've been following up ur thread. I've happy you have held on on the second journey.

One of the advantages I have to there at work is 24/7 power supply and free WiFi.
I was recently admitted to ALX to start in January..but I later realized that the job I have at hand may not give me that time to study the materials in day time..like I close from work by 6 . And I consider that as not to succeed in ALX.

I'm now thinking of self teaching my self..till maybe I may move to another job were I'll have chance in-between work hours.

So what are the benefits ass. with being trained institutes like ALX as against the sololearn/self-taught path??

The benefit is that with Alx, there's deadlines, constant projects and material you have to keep up with. You do not decide when to do it or not. And once you get adapted to their method, you would benefit from it.

But alx is mentally tasking!!! And very harsh for newbies in programming cause you always have learn new concepts with 24hrs deadline.

Thanks to that, it was easy to learn JavaScript
