Same way voting arrogant and selfish politicians negatively affect Nigeria.. calling up arrogant and selfish players also negatively affects the team..
Dennis has rotten attitude. The same reason club Brugge and koln dumped him

As pointed out already, if Dennis played the PK against the coach's instruction, he should face consequences for that. Secondly, Paseiro needs to know when to use his 4-4-2, definitely a double pivot would have been better against an opposition like Portugal. I am not convinced about Kelvin.
you say 442 against this Portuguese team? The best would hv been 3 in the back then load the midfield with more bodies

Those calling for Peseiro head after less than a year don't know Portugal have had Santos as coach since 2014.

This is despite Portugal having the best managerial line-up in the world.

Don't defend incompetence..

The coach directed someone take that penalty.
If Dennis went against that, he should be disciplined for that.
And Ekong should be stripped off captaincy.
why sir? Ekong clearly went to Dennis to collect the ball but the f**l didn't release it.

When Match list came out: Folks were like "Sharp", "Omo, win or draw", "Solid lineup", "Ndidi, Iwobi, Aribo Midfield trio, Sharp!!!" etc...

Before Match finish: "Aribo is Minus one", "Simon is useless", "What is Akpoguma doing?", "Rubbish Dennis", "Disband the team",
"Arrant idiots"...

The Messiah would have prevented all this grin grin grin One pass, seven goals!!!

Why do people keep hyping some unnecessary football facts that's not working for Nigeria....for God sake what all this "timely sub" was the positive yen yen yen that use to sweet some of u sef....abeg how did the timely sub affect the game...to me going forward if a coach is doing fine, pls there are some real issue/area we should criticize him, not all this irrelevant argument, na so we do sack the one that was doing late sub and employed the tiki-taka/timely sub man that could not qualify us for comon q/final of afcon....so far so good we have lost the glory days of sexy/creative midfield(okocha, kanu, mikel, oruma etc) let us pick up another pattern that suits the present super eagle's i.e defend(esp against top teams), counter,flank-dribble) keep these guys long on the pitch to play if they are not tired even if it's to 75th or 80th mins(it is not the best formation but it worked largely for the present super eagle's from 2017-2021)....
Upon all our "he is substituting earlier, wetin we gain?
We chop am against Ghana
We chop am against Algeria
We chop am Costa Rica
We chop am against Portugal
We chop am against Tunisia
We no still go worldcup tufiakwa

It's not even about form. It's his arrogance and body language. See how he fell off the remaining grace when God dash am. Chance at redemption and he just successfully hanged himself with his own rope
it was clear he was not supposed to play the penalty. As in what kind of arrogant player is this. Anyway , my positive from the game is just bright osayi. He is good competition for aina. Omo we need solution to our midfield problems. Is becoming so pathetic. For the defensive pair, I reserve my comment.

The struggle over the pk shows the indiscipline within the SE camp where the captain of the team doesn't have a say on the pitch
Pase had to point at his choice for pk but Dennis refused and went ahead to miss the kick
A good team should have it's choice pk player in open play but Dennis showed why he's on the decline in his career
This is not the Captain's fault boss. I don't think you have been following Dennis. He might angrily walk out of the field if Ekong had forcefully collected the ball.

Super Eagles First Half Stats:

Iwobi is the only midfielder who has created a chance in this game. The one he sent into Aribo's path after Aribo's bursting run and 1-2 with Iwobi.

Ndidi has not registered even a pass into the final third.

Aribo has registered just one pass into the final third and ZERO CHANCES CREATED.

Of the 3 midfielders, Iwobi has made the most passes (20).
Aribo has 12 and Ndidi, 12.

Aribo and Iwobi have both taken turns to high press the Portuguese backline alongside Moffi. That is one point to note as we are obviously playing with a front two and defending with a back 5.

Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the Best Midfield 3 you all wanted to field.

It is well.

We played with two midfielders. Two upfront. Take note.

Chukweze missed a sitter and Dennis missed a penalty while Portugal got a cheap penalty.
This game is a already a psychological pain to our players. The penalty miss just killed any iota of interest in the game. For me, the game ended when Dennis missed that penalty.

We have a good team in transition.
Nevertheless I believe, we need Nwakali as the second AM.
We move!

4th tier in the Portuguese league?.
It's well.

Chukwueze had a decent cameo. We actually played better from the hour mark but we lacked organisation in defence. We controlled the game better and played out from the back better.

Osayi-Samuel is the ONLY standout player. The guy is fast and solid. Aina's position is threatened, already!

I don't know how we watch football ooo but I think Osayi doesn't add to the attack and he lacks positioning.

Aina would have added more offensively and defensively.
