But if you claim to be a Christian the Bible makes it compulsory for you. Whether tithe money is misappropriated by men who claim to be God sent is irrelevant, if you don't trust your pastor then switch your place of worship.

Please where did the bible make it compulsory to pay tithe, can you show me, where Jesus paid tithe?....or any of the apostles paid tithe ?

For Christians, Tithe is strictly to be given in Church. If you like give another 1/10 to another Course.

But Tithe towards God is strictly in Church.

Try to gain knowledge. They have told you give 10% to God but blinded you to The Word " if you give to the poor and needy you give to my Father in Heaven.". So you are left to imply that you should give to pastors and churches.

Why do you announce fasting days in church when it is meant to be hidden from the world. Why do you allow women to preach in Church when it is written in the bible that a woman should be quiet in church?

God only permitted Priests from the tribe of Levi to collect Tithe in the Bible.
That is the reason Jesus Christ never collected Tithe because He is not from the tribe of Levi.
So tell me, are our Pastors collecting tithe from the tribe of Levi?

The psychology is simple

People find it difficult to admit that they have been duped

A person who has been paying tithes for years will find it difficult to come to terms with that and would rather condemn a person who refuses to pay

Same thing with marriage

Many people are suffering but criticize single people who do not marry. A woman is being beaten up by her husband daily and makes fun of her unmarried friends

It is normal human psychology we need to validate our life choices and go to great length to do that
