I did an objective comparison between reality and my beliefs, I realised that if I wasn't already biased to believe a specific set of beliefs, I would have no real reason to believe.

I was born a Christian, then I turned to an atheist, then I switched to a theist.

I believe there's a God, but I don't believe I need to belong to any religion to follow that God.

I left Christianity because of the discrepancies in the Bible.

The Bible has been written and translated so much that the original text is gone.

Now what we have is a bunch of bullcrap.

I stopped being an atheist and became a theist because I know there's a God.

Speaking of religion, I've joined the religion of my forefathers; African traditional religion.

It's not something that happens instantly. It's a gradual process. Could take months or years.
At first you might become angry or annoyed when you see criticisms about your religion. You know those criticisms are valid but you try to fight it off because you don't want to feel like you've believed a lie your whole life. Then you become curious and start listening to both sides, see which one makes more sense.
Once you start seeing reasons in those criticisms, your mind opens up gradually. You won't admit at that time that you're an atheist, but you'd know you have lost a lot of faith in your beliefs. Well, that's for me Sha.
And I've been happier ever since.

Like mine started as middle, going back to pray whenever there's a problem but one day i wanted to go back to the religion stuff and discovered I've totally lost my belief in it, was a super interesting experience

Not so much as social pressure as social conditioning. The family and society you are born into shapes a lot about what you tend to believe, for instance I was born to an active believer in Christianity in a predominantly Christian society while someone in India could be born at the same time and date as me to active belivers in Hinduism, thus I became a Christian while that person became a Hindu. It is very unlikely that I initially would have become a Hindu since nothing in my environment would have exposed me to that belief system meanwhile my parents and the society presented Christian as true and others as false so I operated under that impression for most my life until I took a hard look at it. That is the other thing society does to help maintain belief, it tends to try to stifle critical inquisition into belief systems it holds dear even to it's own detriment.
