Over feeding can cause it.

If your pond is poorly constructed in red earth, leakages can cause it. However your catfish can thrive in that condition.

Very Big catfish is possible all you need is to follow the basic rules drop your previous idea that didn't achieve anything and all this can be learnt from the comfort of your home for free , why waste money on nothing see results of 5 months of someone here but did the right thing

Changing water everyday is a stress to your stock. The pond is obvious dirty and infected.
1) wash the pond after draining the water in a way that the green patches should be removed.
2) Make use of bitter leaves to treat them to reduce cost.
3) leave them for 48 hours before you feed them

I joined here sometime in 2014 and learnt so much about catfish. I stopped visiting here sometime in 2017. I am back now and shocked to find the thread a shadow of it's former self. Does it mean people are no longer interested in catfish farming or what?
Anyway, I am about to start my catfish farming again in my compound. I relish those period btw 2014 and 2018 when even my dogs fed on catfish.

That is true! Prices of everything have gone up. More reason why I decided to resume my catfish farm. I will definitely save money doing it myself. The flood thing is a disaster. May God console the victims and empower them to get back on their feet.

I didn't use it throughout. My inclusion rate was approximately 14% of total feed consumed and I gave it to them before they started eating 6mm. The result was the same with what I would have got if i used the usual floating feed. It is noteworthy to know that I used the 4mm which is 38% protein.
