Abeg just stop deceiving yourself already. What happened to investors in LUNA, FTX and others should make you understand the point I am trying to make. I no sure say you don make money for crypto reach me sef. I don't just know how to lie!
if you had the right information about the market you should have known before the Luna and ftx meltdown. People lose money yes for sure but your gains should be more than your loses. If you had made a life changing gain in crypto I don't think you would be here talking bad about cryptos

All they ever think of and implement are taxes that even the federal government's cannot directly generate e.g stamp duty on electronic fund, which is being generate solely through the efforts of the bank's.

That is incapable our government and its systems are.
To generate taxes they outsource it because they know how inefficient they are.
But they will never outsource the welfare of the citizenry.
Consultants will never be contracted to share palatives, but consultant would be contracted to collect tax.

Restricting it doesn't mean it shouldn't be taxed. It's just a way of discouraging it because of the high volatility of the market and the unknown actors behind it.

Most of us who are into crypto will tell you the Government has been vindicated. More than 99% of investors have lost over 90% of their investment in crypto..Market has been bleeding for over a year now and the blood is still fresh and running.

I won't forget the day I woke up to see my investment of a million naira dropped to less than 50k. My own sef small..You need to see how a friend could not eat well for days because his own dropped from around 11million to less than 100k.

Well, all these story no concern Government. That tax must be paid. Tax and death are the only certain things in life
Same Crypto that was banned? This government is as useless as Tinubu

Government have right to tax it, just like every service being taxed that is used by Nigerians.

The taxes will come from the owner's of those digital crypto platforms. I wonder why Nigerians love others more than their government. It's foolishness, whether they steal taxes or not, we need taxes.

You lack sense just look at your last statement wether there steal it or not, shows how dull you and the Nigerian govt are .

You cant tax what you have already banned besides what do you know about crypto?

Please when investing in crypto, you need to understand the details of it and always be updated on it. Also try to diversify your investments. Crypto is almost like companies stocks, high today and crashes low tomorrow.

What percentage of Nigerians have lost their investments purely from the government successfully getting N700=$1 from N210 that they met it. Should we also not have believed in the Naira?

Don’t confuse yourself. Also do not attempt to defend the government because you had challenges in the matter, unfortunately.

When you say “this thing is not good for my family and I”, how then do you underground attempt to make some gain out of the same rejected thing?

If government has advised Nigerians to keep away from cryptos, there is absolutely no sense in taxing the same. You do not place tax on prohibited goods. You ensure that they should not get into your country or homes. So if government taxes cryptos, somehow the same government encourages the people to continue with it.

I have been a crypto trader for years and I can tell you it's not for the faint hearted. No matter how skilled you are, you can get caught up in the middle of one fraud or an ugly development somewhere which can turn your investment to dust.

it's unfortunate most of you don't understand how government works. Take cigarette as an example, it is highly discouraged by the government but it is still being taxed. I hope this will make you understand

Yes, I do understand you my dear.

Does government truly discourage cigarette smoking in the sense of it? Do you remember MMM? It was taken up by the National Assembly and government seriously acted on it. Government did not choose the path of taxing the people.

Taxation encourages. It exposes opportunities to be explored.

How can you tax what you banned?

Emefiele is a village clown. They should have tried to regulate it and then taxed it but rather because it rattled them during the End SARS, they banned it outright.

Now you want to tax it. Funny people.

but some people got their accounts held..That's why we do P2P and can't even use crypto related words in description..

Confused government, how can you tax an asset you never believed in and called it a scam without understanding the basics of blockchain technology. Until a country accept crypto currency as a legal tender, they don’t have any moral right to lay tax claims on it.
