Spain put 7 past Costa Rica. 3 past Jordan, 5 past Iceland, all this year and you say they lack purpose. Na wa. I hope you know it is Enrique we are talking about. The man famed for the Taka system.
Come on bro, did you just mention Jordan? I don't want to believe this is sarcasm. Forget the results, fact is Spain's boring tactic failed at a grand stage. Over 1000 passes with just a shot on target and you're telling me that's not purposeless.
BTW, Enrique is just a student when it comes to tikitaka. Cryuff, Wenger and Pep are even more famous than him.

They have always been talented. But a key difference is that good Brazilian players can get good contracts in Brazil, they don't need to run to Azerbijan, Malta or Turkish lower divisions, recall Ronaldinho returned home to play in the Brazilian league, Neymar didn't need to rush to go to Europe

Sure but before we get there will be a long time from now except what is happening in the music and entertainment industry flows into football where private initiatives dominate rather than government
Now, how do we make our football/other sports attractive to the private investors?

By ensuring we root out all malaise bedeviling our local leagues and sporting events. If not, no private investor wants a part of a corrupt ridden headless and leadership-lacking sports ministry and/or football body

Exactly! Even the African countries that we are claiming they are better than us have not done much. Senegal won the nation's cup only once and they do not get to the semi final often.
Algeria don't do much in international football.
We are a real footballing nation.
It's like saying Italy is not a footballing nation because they have not qualified for the world cup for twice in succession.
From our antecedents another nation's cup medal is near
Also, we will soon produce more world class players apart from Osimhen.
I'm tired of the insult here
loll

Okay

the chickens would soon come home to roost

Please ensure you're there to harvest their eggs

It has happened to lots of team. It does not make the team weak. Liverpool played Atletico Madrid without registering a shot on target.

It does not mean Liverpool are weak.

It has happened to Manchester City too.

Morocco this, Morocco that...
many of her players are even foreign born, they scouted very well, and THE FOREIGN BORN PLAYERS WANTED TO PLAY FOR MOROCCO.
This present world cup success is not a grassroot development effort of their Football Federation, rather a search and recruit effort BUT ESPECIALLY THAT SINGULAR FIRE TO PLAY FOR MOROCCO cheesy

Trying to get abusive won't help score points.

I have made my point as elaborate as possible.

1. Modern day top coaches prefer using keepers that are good with their feet over those with good saves. This is a fact. So what is clearly wrong?

2. Spain having one shot on target does not mean they have a weak system. Proven by Manchester City having a shot on goal despite heavy possession against Southampton and Liverpool against Atletico Madrid.

3. Tiki taka (heavy possession) is not dying proven by top teams adopting the strategy and modern day coaches turning to it like Tuchel, Potter, Inzaghi, Arteta, Lopetegui, Emery and even the Championship leader, Burnley coached by Kompany adopting it.

So, which one is clearly wrong?

Talk points, leave abuses.

Wow and how do you mean? What happened? Believe it or not you are like this because of how and where you were trained. The sad truth is a lot of us Nigerians are not ready for that change we all claim we need. Absolutely disappointing but I trust you, whatever happened isn't enough to quench that fire in you. Peace!!!!!!
The match started OK, both teams played a good 1st half then all of a sudden the referees starts overlooking every foul committed against Abia. Well fine, that is football. But what really annoyed me was when a so called match official grabbed an Abia player by the colar because she helped her team with the ball when the ball boys stopped doing their job. I have never seen a man treated like this. The normal procedure is to send the ball boy away but they were so openly Bias I just couldn't handle it.

I told them if they don't like what I said they should leave the sport cos I am not going anywhere. I know they were like who is this nobody? But they are just lucky I have been really sick for the past days because I would have stayed and given those animals that call themselves referees a real piece of my mind but I had to go eat and take my medication grin

I think it's more than just search and recruit. Of their Moroccan born players, a number of them passed through a certain Muhammad VI academy, that should tell us something. Also I dare say a good number of the recruits would walk into the teams of the nations they were born in, Ziyech, Amrabat and Hakimi.

Some examples
Bono joined Wydad Casablanca as an 8 year old
Aguerd joined Mohammed VI academy as a teen
En Nesyri - Mohammed VI
Ounahi - Mohammed VI
Achraf Dari - Wyday as an 8 year old
Like I said just some examples. You can look up the Mohammed VI academy which was a huge investment by the government. Yes there's a mix with foreign recruits, but we can't deny that there was strategic investment for football development.

I wish that happens but that would be the 8th wonder of the world. I hope they don't do like Senegal in 2002, they kind of chickened out against Turkey. At least Ghana and Cameroon went down fighting very hard. Cameroon lost to England 2-3 with questionable penalties. Saturday will soon be here. I know Morocco doesn't see themselves as Africans as confirmed by Boufal but their success will help CAF make a case for more slots hopefully.

Should I start to mention Nigerian players that went through academies too? No country is not investing in its football. The core of their team was not born in Morrocco!

When you worship mediocrity then you’ll become delusional.

Do you want to be delusional ? My friend

We lost to Portugal folks were angry because they thought we should have won ??

Why would we beat a top tier and well drilled team like Portugal give me a reason ??

We think that way because we’re delusional and allowed mediocrity to cloud our judgement.

Imagine calling chukwueze and etebo world class that’s delusional.

Imagine putting hope in ekong that’s delusional

I can go on all day

Spain's problem is not having a decent striker and a bit of directness when required(they have Fati and arguably Nico Williams) but yeah I agree with all you've said.
