Greetings Gurus

Please how can I get an Immigration Lawyer here in Nigeria? Should I just visit the immigration office.
Its over 14weeks now without my passport and its really damaging having lost a lot.

UKVI replied me to visit TLS directly that they have been instructed to return my passport while TLS keeps telling me the embassy has not returned it. Whereas security guard won't allow me in at the embassy (Lagos). This damage is so unbearable.

I'm not even expecting a vignette I got a refusal letter since October 21st..Biometrics done sine September 2nd.

I feel the only option I have is to get an Immigration Lawyer..please who has worked with one and how fast is the process and cost?

The age limit for dependent child is below 19, and 24 if he/she is in college.

Is he/she currently in college if I may ask?

Are you his/her only living parent? If yes, that can be a strong ground.

You can't sponsor an adult child who is over 18 years of age that lives in Nigeria or outside the UK. The cut-off age for this group is 18.

Print out the message you received from UKVI then take it to TLS.
Also, you can email them. Remember to attach the message from TLS.

Thank you Ashirioluwa...I have done that they keep sending generic responses. I will print out and visit again as advised.. I hope it works..cuz I don't even stay in Lagos...This will be the fourth time travelling down.

Hello house,

So I did my biometric on 18th November (Standard visa) and until today I'm yet to get a decision. Even BRP I never see. Is this normal? I did the biometric at Abuja TLS centre. Did anyone here do theirs on that same day?

Tho I've made a paid call to them, and they said a decision has been made but they couldn't tell me the decision. Omo I'm just worried

We are saying same thing. It says you can only apply IF you have permission to stay in UK.

I have someone who is having similar issue. His own son is over 20 years of age.

Note* I am not an immigration expert. I am here to learn. Please let me know if it’s possible for an adult child to apply so I can pass the information to a friend.

Well you’re right, everyone is here to learn in one way or the other as no one is an island of knowledge.

Well, First and foremost, there are two options with regards to this. The first option being to apply as a dependent, and the second one the supposed dependent applying separately.

Now the condition of the first one is if the dependent older than 19 has never been independent, nor lived on their own, have a family nor children. if it can be demonstrated or proven that this dependent cannot cope without the aid of the parents or those he will joining as a dependent, then there is a good chance.

Only dependents with permanent disability do not have age limits. So the proof has to be solid. If the dependent lives with you and you still pay their bills, show it. The dots needs to connect as to why it is important they travel with you at that time of application.

Subsequently, if the dependent wishes to apply later on to go meet the family, he/she can as well do so. The parents or family will serve as sponsor towards his/her application. Either ways, it is a win-win.

Do you mind sharing ;
How much did you pay for priority? Did you use an agent or you did it all by yourself? What amount did you quote as your expenses for your trip?

Application received by VAC without prior interview or NSF, does it mean visa is being granted?

I'm not sure there is something called marriage visa in nigeria.... just submit both your names and picture at ikoyi registry first..u'll be given date after paying.....
..ur names and picture will be on the public board for 21 days as a formality for any one that wants to counter the union..maybe u are already married to one precious or chidinma... grin

Then she can arrive on visit prior to the date u were given on a visit visa.... and u can get married

Visa Alert
6 months visit visa
Super priority
Self-service
TLS Victoria Island
Submission: Thursday, 1st December
Biometric: Friday, 2nd December 8am
Pick up mail: Tuesday 6th December 11am
Passport picked, visa stamped: Tuesday, 6th December 12pm

My application was a bit complicated because my wife and children are UK citizens but we live in Nigeria together. I have several UK visa refusals from 15 years ago. I am also self-employed and my finances are not straightforward. I applied with a closing balance of about N120k on my naira account. Despite my best efforts and paying my 2022 annual return, my company was still inactive on the CAC website.

We decided to do super-priority because we had already purchased tickets for the family of 4 and changing dates during Xmas would have cost more than the Super Priority. In my opinion, it was definitely worth it.

I have been a silent reader for several years and this forum has helped me immeasurably so I will come back and do a more detailed explanation that will hopefully help others in a similar situation.

Thanks to everyone that contributes on this forum.

ello All,

I was asked to provide additional information for my child dependent. Maintenance has been ticked for both applicant and dependents by employer, I still added bank statement that shows POF for the family to still back up financial requirement. Sponsor address was added as the accomodation on arrival. now the question below has been asked in child dependent application:

Give Evidence to demonstrate suitable arrangements for your care and accommodation in the UK, which must comply with relevant UK legislation and regulations.[/b]

Please how do i go about this?

Quote the COS reference number/attached that as permissible.
If a box presented add that you have additional funds in POF for such, and that is in addition with the fact that maintenance has been provided as indicated in the cos.

Did both parents of the child apply?
Let both apply or state compelling reasons why only one parent is going with the child

What happens if for example my school registration date ends January 23 and I get my visa Jan 30. I will like to know if I would be allowed to travel to UK under such case because my school said there will be no late registration

Try writing to your school via email, explaining your situation to them. Hopefully, as an international student, you might an exception for a few weeks maybe.

Entry clearance officer wey get confirmed witchcraft don enter your matter.....

Since you gave your employer's address, which is probably an office address......

the bastárd ECO probably wants you to show proof your employer has provided a standard sized family apartment that can accomodate you, your spouse and especially your minor....
