I use city mapper

What’s the best map to use in London? One that states arrival of buses and trains. I used one about 4years ago I can’t remember the name. London people help me..

Interesting.

Just to confirm: was the £800 inclusive of the exam registration fee?

As a broke UK JJC, I run from all these UK tutors oo. I feel their rates are too high.

I've done two related exams since I came in and here's what I do. Buy courses on Udemy or Coursera (5-10k Naira), study them alongside other materials. Take multiple assessments, register for the exams, write and pass the exams.

Where una dey see this money.

mizGene:

Amarathripple had a recommendation, I'm sure she will respond.. but I used theknowledgeacademy it was listed at close to 2k (with Practitioner) but once you indicate interest and they call you, you can negotiate it to 800 pounds. They will pretend they can't do it, keep you on the call "to ask their manager" cheesy for approval for a discount.. then they will make you an offer. But make sure to get them down to 800 at most.

I did long time ago through self-study. Just buy the textbook and study it. Practice with past questions and then register for the exam through any of the providers. Cheaper than going for the actual training + exams but you still need to get work experience. I had it so it wasn't difficult for me and I did it up to the practitioner level then.

jimps:
Has anyone here written PRINCE2 Foundation exam before please?

Any advice for me guys?

I'm so glad you "one upped" them! Good on you! If your contract says 1 week, you have nothing to fear and if they refuse to pay your already worked days, you should not hesitate to report them.

Not a "map" but citymapper does the trick or good old Google maps

It’s actually a single itinerary from departure. I heard there will be strike action from 23rd dec till 28th dec which may cause long queue at Manchester airport and I have a train to catch like an hour after arrival so I would preferred the check at Heathrow cause I have like over 2hours layover which is enough to get through the queue
1 hr after arrival is cutting it too close. Make sure to buy an open/anytime ticket

Yes, includes exam fees. And yes your strategy is good, that is what I would do normally, buy cheap on Udemy and self study. But I didn't have the luxury of time to self study- I learn real fast if I'm taught by an expert so I went that route since I needed the cert real quick.
Funny enough, the online class was filled with Indians, just 2 of us in the UK. The tutor was Indian as well. This made me imagine that the Indians probably paid local/lesser fees...might be worth exploring what someone in "Nija" would be billed.

Hi guys, I posted sometime ago (other miniker) about issues with my company because I wasn't able to drive and how they threaten to sack me at any slight instance including feedind a dog thrice instead of twice. It hasn't been easy for me. I have been trekking in the winter to see clients and never complained yet my company never cease to threaten me of sack for the most trivial of issues. They constantly remind me that they are doing me a favor by keeping me cos I wld have been long gone to my country the moment they noticed I cldnt drive. They refused to renew my ID card and didn't give me the training they give to other staff.

I was told by my South African colleague that the company wants to chase me and I should find a new sponsor before I am chased out. Luckily for me, I got a new sponsor and I have a new COS. I have also applied to update my Visa using priority option.

My company sent me a mail that they have booked me ahead for work till the new year. I plan to start at my new place before the Christmas. I responded that they should only book me for a week cos I will be stopping after a week. My contract states that both parties should give at least a 1 week notice before contract termination.

I was told to report to the office and on getting there I laid all my concerns. I have been living in an hotel with my wife and two kids for close to 2 months and the company refused to stand as a guarantor for me to get a house. I also made other concerns. They said its non of their business if my kids are registered with a GP or not or if I have a place as long as I work with them. I maintained my stance that I want to quit but was told I must work for a month before quiting or forfeit the pay for the days I have worked. I said I wasn't going to work and the madam opened the door and asked me to get out. I got up and left.

Later in the day, the husband mailed me that I am breaching my contract that I must work 1 month or they will report me to home office and I will have a limit to stay in the UK. I didn't reply his mail but I have a copy of the contract that states other wise.

Any advice for me guys?

Please report them and find another company/agency if you can

You'd be surprised 2 hours might not be enough in Heathrow even. Especially that Terminal 4. But I don't expect so many people to be coming into the UK in December. Should be easy.

This country is really not easy, was having a conversation with a friend and we were arguing about NHS roles.

The gist of the argument was if it is possible for a foreigner (Nigerian) on a student visa to get an operational manager band 8a sponsorship role with no NHS experience and only 7-8 years Nigerian non health care operational experience.

I was of the opinion that chances are extremely slim but my friend swore that is is very possible and she has seen cases of this, I don’t know what to believe because the stories I’ve heard is that it’s not possible and for people not to bother applying to band 8a roles. I really want to know if it’s true so I thought to bring it here to seek advise from people more experienced in this journey.

Please, I will really appreciate your thoughts as the thinking that one won’t get a band 8a role has really discouraged a lot of people I know from applying.

You are right! Took me over 2hrs back in June (peak period). Just jejely waiting on the queue till my turn. Although I heard some people use sick/elderly/wheelchair priority to jump queue lol

It is POSSIBLE. Many ppl have done it. Like every other role, prepare for it, craft a great CV and keep applying.

If she says she has seen cases then obviously it's possible abi.

If you feel you have the qualifications, no harm in applying - the worst that will happen is they'll say 'no'.

Must be said, however, that there are many ways to skin a cat, and it might be wise to simultaneously target lower bands to get that basis from which to go up. Just in case.

Hello everyone that has successfully crossed to UK. Can you guys help in dropping any nursing homes /NHS offering COS if you know any?

It has been a tug of war since all these agencies hijacked the program and the amount they are calling is too high. Even if one could afford the fees, what is the assurance that it is not a scam.

Experts in the house who knows About HMRC I have some question.

So, im trying to register with HMRC to check and see if the agency i work with actually remits my tax but i couldnt .

It keeps asking me for UK passport and DVLA approved license.

If anyone knows how to go about the process involved, please share your experience so we all learn.

If People house you for over a month and feed you, giveup their bedroom, inconvinence themselves all in one room and you still looking for an accommodation that meets your standards then you are one very ungrateful and selfish person that only thinks about himself like someone earlier suggested. You should pay for airbnb so you know how valuable having accomodation is in this rishi sunak's UK. Good day seniors in the house. I just got my student visa and I would study in Dundee Scotland. I need y’all advise on how to get a job (anything that can put some money in my pocket for the now) haven’t worked 9-5 for many years now. I would actually want a driving job because driving is one of my hobbies. I know it wouldn’t be easy and I’m prepared for the worst. Any hint or advise please. God bless y’all.
