A director General of a campaign party just convicted for money laundry and LP is still keeping him. Unbelievable. He should be kick out. Okupe is a stain to. Lp and it's candidate
Okupe is not a stain to Labor party but an ambassador of the LP, He represents what they stand for. Packaged Fraud
Are they not aware that he had this case before he became VP designate? Before he became DG?
Where was PO when AA was sharing envelope in Porthacourt 2018 to delegates. Was PO not a delegate?
So so for a party that wants to do away with the old order of politicians

Niceee.lol. I am not one to just a thief with another theft analogy. Let the law take its course.
It might also be helpful to differentiate between indictment and conviction. Helpful.
An indictment is a formal accusation that somebody has committed a crime, while a conviction is the formal declaration by the judge or jury that the accused is guilty of a crime.
The US government has been known to give deals to suspects/criminals with the promise of lesser jail terms, no jail term (like a get out of jail card), or sometimes even wiping their slates clean.

See my guy, Tinubu to me is not a do or die. Also, I'm not part of those that said Tinubu is the messiah. My Bible did not teach me to rate any mortal man to such level bcoz he can fail just as Buhari failed me. Tinubu is not a messiah. I'm supporting him bcoz I know he has the ability to unite Nigeria and Nigerians, he has the ability to identify and manage human resources, and get the best out of them, he would not allow anyone to be killed for religious beliefs, I feel more comfortable with Tinubu Muslim Muslim ticket than Atiku Muslim Christian ticket bcoz the president is the president I don't see Okowa challenging Atiku if killing happened and we saw that in VP Osinbajo who couldn't say anything when the RCCG woman evangelist was killed in kubwa and when Deborah Samuel was killed. Our VP couldn't talk. Tinubu is a Yoruba Muslim where there's religious harmony. Tinubu is experienced and he understands the economy. He also know how to generate revenue which is critical today bcoz revenue aren't being taken seriously. These and more are my reasons I support Tinubu but it's the will of God that would prevail finally and not my will.
Furthermore, I don't think Obi has the liver to handle the North. Jonathan tried he failed. Obi doesn't have the network of friends and acceptability that would enable him take decisive decision where northern interest is involved. Obi doesn't keep friends and he tries to avoid North gathering. I'm sure he never knew he would be in this position today he would have done better. Then Tinubu has better achievement than him as governor. He has had good successors which Obi cannot even talk about. So, I see him to be better than Obi and Atiku. Atikulooooter on his own has never been in charge. He was just a deputy. He worked under someone.
Atiku gini, I don't even take that one as a serious candidate or one with good plans for Nigeria either by word of mouth or deeds.

None of our Nigerian politicians are clean at all. grin
Even politicians in the supposedly developed nations too are dirty, but at least there's a semblance of them putting their national interests above their personal interest unlike their Nigerian counterparts. grin

Was that the case?

Do you know you can be found guilty of armed robbery if you ask for money owed you with a bottle in your hand?
Doyin Okupe was convicted of money laundering though and the person that gave him the cash is still walking freely, I can't help but feel that it's a political move. If somebody like Gandollar is still walking freely about, then what's the point again sef. grin

Original: Does paying a fine count as a conviction?

Jan Vander "No. The thing you were convicted of in order to incur the fine is what counts as a conviction".

Wendy Saslow
M.S. in Forensic Science & Advanced Criminal Investigation, University of New Haven

"Paying the fine in itself does not count as a conviction.
Whatever you were convicted of that resulted in having to be partially or fully remedied with the said fine is what counts as a conviction".

SUMMARY: HE IS A CONVICT. WHO PAID A RANSOM FOR HIS SPACE IN KUJE PRISON.
