By now it should be clear to any well discerning observer Nigerian who should be president or who should not. "Giving Obi a chance in 2023 would not be largesse to the bespectacled ascetic what is at stake transcends one man he is just a catalyst for the new Nigeria we desire. It is more about the things his emergence would represent: that the people come first, that democracy must indeed be of the people, by the people and for the people.

That anyone can emerge as president no matter what part of the country they come from or how they worship, as long as they are best suited for the job; that people with the sheer power to vote can sack the stale politicians with their shopworn ideas and toxicity.

Nigeria at this time needs a visionary, not an emperor. We must wrest ourselves from the manacles of those who have held us bound and have become entitled to our commonwealth. We must shun prejudices as we forge ahead to become a prosperous nation. We must make this Obi experiment now and turn the tide against the political elite because fortune only favours the brave. It is in our hands." The revolution is still loading.
You get too much sense. While obi comes across as decent and a lil different, it is what is presidency will represent that matters most. Like what Atiku represented in the last election, Obi presidency will pass the message that power really lies with the people. It will clearly show that we matter and that no government can take us for a ride and expect to go away with it.

If you want to do this type of political analysis, make sure to use the same point across the board to analyse the strength and weaknesses of each candidate and not some meaningless personal thoughts.

I expected to him to also write that Atiku's emergency will be unfair, morally and political unfair to other regions,it will be characterized by massive looting ( those PDP boys are hungry and can't wait to pounce on the national treasury once more),it will also be clueless and corrupt.
Tinubu's emergency will really reduce Nigeria to a mockery in the international scene + you will have two dominant power blocs; the once who are loyal to Shettima (mostly Northern cabals) and the once who will be loyal to Tinubu ( western cabals), Shettima will capitalize on Tinubu's incapabilities in terms of mental and physical health to ursup power.. simply put Shettima will be in charge and will run the country as he please only using Tinubu's name for cover ups ( because he's overtly ambitious) and Terrorist and bandits will emerse too much power because,A Tinubu Shettima administration will not condemn their actrocities.
And Obi's emergency will see a very turbulent administration, because it won't be easy for him to undo what's already been done or put in place..if care is not taken and the corrupt system fights back Obi..it will might hit Obi off balance and might eventually throw him out of office via impeachment and bad legislations( unless he knows what he is up against)
Also the expectations are too high,I hope he can be able to meet those expectations within a short while before Nigerians will start giving up on him,but one thing I'm very sure of is that he is out for real business and will make great efforts in the areas of Security and Economy.
So far Obi's emergency is still the lesser devil here amongst the two other candidates.

First of all, Obi (unlike Buhari) is not overestimated. His works are everywhere in Anambra and even outside Anambra for all to see. The Buhari presidency was a grand deceit, no track record of achievements. Nigerians were just tired of Jonathan/PDP and Buhari/APC/Tinubu deceived the people with sweet promises. Again, no previous good records to judge him with. He was given the benefit of doubt and expected to rule differently. Infact, many ignorant youngings like me paid deaf ears to warnings of Buhari's incompetence as observed in his previous government and campaigned for him. Obi sabi work. He has worked very well. His works are there on record.

On the legislature frustrating Obi's efforts to work based on party and ethnic battles Farooq highlighted, I beleive southerners clash with opposing camps there will handle that. It will not be funny. The matter on ground is more of power shift than of party affiliations.

Comparing Peter Obi to Buhari is a big insult to the intelligence of Nigerians. Let me explain

Peter Obi has been on every media where he was invited. He has spoken extensively about his past records and his plans for the presidency

On the one hand, Buhari avoided the media and debates during the 2015 election just like Tinubu is doing presently.

Tinubu on the other hand, avoids debates and media interviews except the ones where he can read from paper and control it’s content. Even at that, it’s gaffe upon gaffe

Tinubu’s presidency will be no different from Buhari presidency. You should get your PVC and run from anything APC at the presidential election because it will affect you too no matter your level in the Nigerian society, either through insecurity, incompetence, religious intolerance, corruption etc
This is where I disagree. Tinubu’s Presidency will be much worse, like Buharis on steroids

Exactly. I personally don't expect Obi to wave any kind of magic wand and solve Nigeria's problem. The country's problem will take more than 8 years to solve. But for the fact that the government will be people oriented and people friendly is the first step in the right direction. Yusuf Datti will be the 'Joshua' of our time while Obi is the 'Moses'.

If Obi becomes president, it’s almost certain that the National Assembly will be dominated by the APC and the PDP both because the Labor Party hasn’t fielded candidates in all National Assembly positions across the nation and because most of the people it has fielded are weak candidates with weak chances of victory.

Although he himself was a PDP member, which makes him a political kindred of the APC/PDP political family, his upset victory might cause him to be treated as a pariah, which would frustrate his legislative agenda. He could, in fact, be impeached and removed from office. Although he survived a similar fate when he was governor of Anambra, Nigeria isn’t Anambra State. So, as a driver, he won’t be able to change the engine of our motionless car.

https://www.farooqkperogi.com/2022/12/forecast-of-what-atiku-tinubu-or-obi.html
I think he'd have to work to change the elite consensus. I mean, he'd have to rely on personal charm to convince Nass leaders to work for the country. Won't be easy.

Nigerians must vote labour party in all Senate and House of rep elections if they must sanitize Nigeria. Obi alone cannot do the job. We need to seize the assembly to make his work easier.

Thanksful:
The way Nigerians talk about impeachment as if anyone can just wake up and make it happen show how bastardized the mental state of the citizens of his country is.

Our thinking has been negativity impacted by the bad government we have had over the years

Nobody can impeach a Nigerian president.
These people think that a president is a governor. You saw what happened when the national assembly tried it with Jonathan and Buhari.

A Nigerian president is rich, influential and powerful. He can even decide to shut down the national assembly and nothing will happen.

Damn it ....... No comparison

Not sure you understand the presidency much. No vice president can take over or run things unless the president allows it. That's why cabals end up being very powerful. He analysis about Remi and Seyi is on point.

The real cabals are the constitutional cabals the AGF, the SGF, the Chief of staff to the president. Remi will be pushed aside and Seyi relegated to Abuja night clubs.

Bro,first of,stop hiding under a female moniker to incite violence or tribal war.

Secondly, you and i know that obi was not the one given the moral jabbing so rest. Your savior tinubu was.

Thirdly, you need to change your dumb tactics of always using Igbos as your reference to obi,it may have worked in 2019 and 2015 but it ain't gonna work now,by the way the format has casted.

Cabals differ from cabals. Anybody can be cabal - it depends on favour with the president. Although not a visible cabal member, one of the most powerful people in Buhari's presidency is his nephew Tunde Sabiu Yusuf. The most powerful Cabal person in Yardadua's presidency was his wife Turai. Even sef, an ordinary minister of agric (Abba Ruma or something) was one of the most powerful cabal people of that era. Remi is a three-term senator who knows her way around Abuja. If you expect her to be exiled to Dubai or Lagos surprise awaits you.
