It's not just as straight forward as you think,

1. Allowing trade for slaves was easier n better not that they couldn't raid themselves if they wished to.They already had guns,but it would be more expensive to operate that way,so they traded with willing sellers and in some cases forced unwilling tribes to sell.

2.They acquired slaves for the new world not to build Europe,most of the great castles in europe were already built before they met blacks by serfs(white slaves) they needed workers because the whites were not not comfortable due to the climate not palatable to them and many of them were dying( note: most slaves went to Caribbean n south America),also note that white European population had greatly reduced at this period due to the black death that killed millions in the 1300s before the Atlantic slave trade and also note that Romans and Greeks had acquired blacks slaves centuries before cos they blacks have always been in weak positions since ancient times

3.Arabs also acquired slaves from blacks and in most cases these were forced trades.The king of morroco invaded the kingdom of Mali and forced them to provide 1000slaves every Islamic year or face annihilation. The mooroccans had guns.

Therefore blackmen have historically been in weak positions ,until till now,were Chinese,Lebanese,Indians and of course whites still dominate them even on their land.

Nothing as changed,as blackmen were in those days so are they now,ever weak
