Which airline did you board? Also, who has an idea if Ethiopian airline boards those with e visa?

Use South African Airways, They are very reliable when it comes to boarding with an E-Visa

Maybe I should recomend Airpeace for you. My wife and kid travelled with them with E-Visa as far back as April, so I'm certain there would be a rouse. Moreover, it's cheaper than most

Abeg o, Long term Visas, who have gotten a decision from the consulate? Either Study or Critical Skills? Omo the wait is too long na? At least there is a little improvement in short term sha
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 7:39pm On Dec 28, 2022
In my own opinion VFS people are not even helping in this visas matter, I understand they are third party but they should give meaningful information about visa processing and the delays since we are submitting through them. If you contact them now they will say they have no say in visas we should contact high commission everytime.
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Gernny(f): 7:45pm On Dec 28, 2022
I think they are doing it intentionally they wait for your intended date of travel to elapse before they tell u stories.

Lmao! This is for short term visas, even if your travel date lapses for long term, they can’t refuse you based on that..

Good morning house. I was denied my student visa with the only reason being YELLOW CARD NOT VALIDATED. I have now validated my yellow card online with barcode. I am submitting again tomorrow and my question is, can I use all my previous documents since they do not have an issue with those documents? Has anyone recently had this issue? Please advise, thank you!

Hi have you gotten a feedback?

My experience with the SA eVISA:

My wife and I applied for the SA Single Entry Visit VISA through the VFS eVISA route, and our applications were rejected. I am still trying to make meaning out of their reasons, though, and I will be glad if experts in the house can assist.

I was the primary applicant, and my wife was the secondary applicant. I submitted my statement of accounts for PoF, which has sufficient funds in Naira and USD for the two of us, and the reasons we got were:
1. Primary Applicant: I should report to the High Commission for the verification of my statement of account
2. Secondary Applicant: The PoF provided was not in the Applicant's name, even though she is not the Primary Applicant/Sponsor.

What I did after the rejection letter:
1. Sent an email to Appeal to VFS and copied all other SA High Commission-related email addresses stating with more than 7 reminders, but there was no single response.
2. Visited High Commission in Victoria Island with the hard copies of my Statement of Account - I met with the Security guards, and I was told that the staff of the SA High Commission has stopped working from the facility for some time. I was told they mostly work from home and sometimes work from VFS. I got an email address of a member of staff of the commission for follow up, and the 'fellow' refused to respond to all my emails.
3. I also visited VFS Lagos with the same documents, since they said I should report with the statement of account for verification and the hostile security guard at the gate did not want to reason with my request to access the compound so I could speak to anyone representing the SA Commission for the said verification. He was screaming at the top of his voice - "we don't verify statements of account, here", na so I turned back to my house ooo, it is not by force to go to SA.

I want to know if anyone has a similar experience and what I could have done as I still do not understand the reasons we got for the rejection.

They don’t allow people to gain access to that high commission at all. You should have contacted the VFS for procedures since they are the middle men to the high commission. You’d call & ask how you should go about it. I don’t know why these HC people don’t respond to mails. It’s so sad! Plus the HC at Lagos don’t do anything visa, it’s the one at Abuja that is currently issuing visas at the moment. Even if you apply at Lagos VFS, they will forward it to Abuja that day using UPS

What could have been the meaning of the reasons they gave for the rejection. I felt, this is not an objective reason "my layman opinion".

One thing with SA visa, they are very consistent with giving silly excuses for rejection . However in this instance, you applied for VFS visa, from my observation, the decision is made by VFS not High commission, so therefore your appeal might not make any difference. However, if you are keen on going to SA, you can just re apply because ordinarily the appeal is time wasting. I actually find it funny that you even went as far as going to the high commissioner office because what exactly will your going there achieve when you applied for VFS e visa?
Just as someone stated, decisions are now made at Abuja not Lagos but that is mainly for paper application not VFS. Just correct your lapses and re apply, you might be lucky.

Thank you for your comment.

My visit to the High Commission was because the reason for the rejection was that "The Applicant should report to the High Commission for Statement Verification". Besides, I reached out to the same VFS via several un-replied emails, and also went there physically, but was turned back from the gate by an unreasonable security guard.

Correcting the lapse as you said, can you advise on what exactly the lapse(s) you think may be the reason for the Visa Officer to say an Applicant should go to the High Commission for Bank Statement verification, and how do you think, this can be addressed using the eVISA route for re-application.

1. Maybe the statement lacks credibility.
2. Maybe some transactions in it were looking false or they suspect some fishy transaction.
3. It could also be the statement was not legible and clear.

Reapply using another bank statement not with the one you applied with. Let it have a good inflow & outflow. Let the bank stamp it and if possible they can also sign. Let it have a good closing balance too and this might be extra but it would be nice if you do this “attach a bank reference letter pertaining that account”. Normally the bank statement should have like a phone number on top for verification. I know zenith put on theirs idk about others.

For the secondary applicant, if the secondary applicant not the sponsor, then the sponsor must write a written letter to the high commission stating they are the sponsor or they are sponsoring you on this trip. Attach a bank reference letter, bank statement and the Intl data page of passport and upload on the portal. Also the sponsors email address and phone number must be somewhere on the letter to just for verification because there is nothing these people don’t verify o.

Use the E-vfs, but then this is festive period you might not get an outcome this month. But still try to use the e-VFS, it’s still faster than this physical submission. They are trying to clear backlogs at the SAHC, Abuja. Plus you suppose no book flight yet till your visa decision is out, Well if you can move it to a much later date, just in case.

Can you help with Exact link. Happy new Year. I applied and made both flight & hotel reservation for Jan16 but I want to apply online ASAP to see how it goes since I haven’t gotten a response from the physical submission I did at VFS Lagos

You can apply immediately, so you can get an outcome soon before Jan 16 and try and follow up too with the vfs people. If Jan 16 passes and you’ve not heard from them they are most likely to refuse you based on travel date has passed. So hurry up!

What the ideal duration ( holiday stay) for VFS e visa, is 21days too long?
Also, for someone who wants to apply by next week, what is the ideal travel date one can put in January?
My sister also applied for paper submission but her travel date has passed yet no feedback, she’s thinking of applying for the VFS e visa just to be on a safer side

I don’t know about 3 weeks but I have seen 2 weeks and someone on this thread said they give you whatever duration that was applied for, so you can apply for the 21 days. Well at least a month to the date of departure make sure you upload all neccesary documents and they must be clear because they contribute to the processing time of the e-visa.
For the paper submission when did you submit and did you submit your passport with it ?

Twice last year? With that same yellow card ? Hopefully she gets a decision this month. Lagos isn’t doing anything visa at the moment, the whole visa issuance is in Abuja so it’s like times 2 of their workload hence the delay. But they’ve been working on it sha according to them
