When it comes to internet every state in Nigeria is about the same, especially if you are in a big city.

Nope. Been there. Done that. Many places cannot give you guaranteed dedicated speeds. Asking for a static ip would leave many providers confused. I'm not talking about speeds to stream Netflix or YouTube. I'm talking reliable steady connections

Op, since you work online. I would advise you to relocate to Uyo. They have stable power, good Internet connectivity especially around Ewet Housing, the environment is clean and the air is fresh. There are beautiful and well mannered ladies there too.

Ph is also nice but it's crowded too.

Are there any fiber optic ISP providers in Uyo that you can recommend?

I wouldn't know currently because I no longer reside there. You may ask the guys based there, I think some are on this thread.

If this is what you are looking for then sorry, as of today only PH from the listed cities can provide that.

However like I wrote before, PH is already crowded. If you ain't going to invest then PH does not need more crowd.

Many people shouting "come to Jos", "come to PH", "come to Calabar" don't understand what it means to work online. Do any of those places have fibre optic internet? With dedicated speeds of 10mbps symmetric?

I don't see why anyone working online in Lagos will be bothered by the so-called stress.

Aside the night of the 25th there has been no light here for 3 weeks.
Normally when there is light we get it 2 days on and 1 day off. That's known as the... off day.... in Lagos

The girls are all into hookup or multiple boyfriends... many just need your money. Until they are 30 or so they are not interested in getting married

Everything is so costly. 3 oranges is 200 naira now think of food... good food.

Transport? On a normal day you can waste 3k on transport that's if you avoid rush hour when tfare doubles and if you think transport is easy to get think again.
By time you get stuck in traffic so far from home and by 11 pm you are still there your eye go clear for that once a day you go out after working online

Hi

I want to leave Lagos in the new year. I'm tired of the stress, high cost of everything and chaos.
The problem is I can't really make up my mind on where to go, what city is best for me and my business, my life and needs, therefore i opened this thread to seek advice from people who live or have been to these areas i have in mind to relocate to.

My opinions are...

1. Enugu
2. Uyo *(Akwa Ibom)
3. Calabar (Cross Rivers)
4. Port Harcourt

I'm an Igbo guy from Imo state. I work online so can move anywhere as long as i see good light and fast internet.
And something else... I'm kind of a late bloomer in life. Things no enter for me early so I'm still single at 40. But I earn well now, thanks to God, and so I'm seriously searching for a nice lady to settle down with. A city with lots of marriageable single girls around (even semi-educated one who are generally more humble) is high on my priority list.

The city I have in mind as the best fit is Enugu but due to insecurity in the SE I'm open to other opinions.

Please advice me based on your experence.
Remove Enugu, Portharcourt and Calabar from that list.
Some part of Ogun, Ekiti are still calm with steady power supply.

It's Uyo, Ekiti, Ogun

Umuahia is good too. Old and reserved

Business wise UYO is not a prefer destination, he should go to PORTHARCOURT.

This is a good one. I live in the heart of Uyo three years. Where I reside has steady light since we are on a prepaid network. I use broadband internet as there are companies that render wifi to home services here.
I will say life here is more affordable than Lagos and since you say you work online, you would not have to mind that good office jobs are scarce here.
I am planning on relocating from here abroad though. My major draw back is selling off all my many properties. If you choose Uyo and do not have properties, I wouldn't mind doing a rent and property transfer.
By the way, I am inspired by your post. I am in my early thirties and I sometimes get depressed about where I am at right now. Somehow, knowing that someone older than me is optimistic about life in general gives hope.

I'll love to know where you are in uyo. I'm also contemplating relocating. What kind of apartment are you letting out?

The way they portray lagos, it may not be good to some people's mental health

For a normal person, it's not good. For someone who doesn't mind being mental although he may be a billionaire , Lagos is ok

I will encourage u to choose between rivers state or Uyo. Am 37yrs too single and searching.. if you are looking for state that u will enjoy yourself, cheap accommodation, good lifestyle and have peace of mind go to akwa ibom state..

Be careful in this your bid to find a semi literate humble wife. That was what my cousin did. The girl mixed bleaching cream for their baby, gave him agbo to drink and he was admitted in the hospital. One day she force fed the boy in that local grandma style and he stopped breathing. The boy is in school now and I have never heard him speak one complete sentence in English language. She will give him akpu and soup without meat. No protein in food when I see her feeding him. But the girl is really humble and friendly. Good personality though I like to mind my business when coz is fighting with her because of all those things she does.

It good you want to settle down, but don't be in a hurry to marry, even though you are already 40. Calm down and take your time. There are many good and wonderful girls around. But you see "virgins and semi educated girls", I no support that one.

Marry quality and character, virgin or not; educated or semi educated.
please can u defined semi-educated girls I want to know

Come to Enugu.
I stay at ozalla close to unth, 10 mins drive to town, I get atleast 16hours light per day.
We sleep with light till daybreak.
This is obtainable inside town places like new heaven,Gra, independence layout and Achara layout. But it is more expensive
Well it depends on your budget

insecurity in South east is exaggerated.
Just do your thing.
Don't stay out too late.
Be mindful of the friends you keep, then you will be fine.

If you work online, you can look into the nearby state capitals like Ibadan, Abeokuta etc.

Ibadan has light issues except if he is lucky to get accommodation in areas like Akobo, the cool areas there, where light is reasonably constant.
