Election results in southeast will be the most interesting. This is the region Peter Obi comes from which ordinarily should be a launchpad for him. However, the political dynamics in the region are the most intriguing. This region has been consistently and largely PDP regardless of who the party fields... whether a rogue, thief, etc. It doesnt matter. Therefore, apart from Anambra which is APGA, other states in SE, we can say, are in the hands of the PDP because the political heavyweights in the region today are still mainly in the PDP. I know Imo and Ebonyi are APC-controlled at the state level but the PDP's voting power is still very potent in those states.

Nonetheless, we can say we have in southeast, 2 APC-controlled states (Imo and Ebonyi). The PDP controls Enugu and Abia while APGA controls Anambra. Obi's party controls nothing in the whole of southeast. All the political leaders in these states have refused to endorse Obi and these are the people that will mobilize voters on election day and they won't mobilize voters for Obi/LP. We know why. The APC man controlling Imo will fight with everything he has to retain his hold on the state because allowing Obi's party in his state is like digging his own grave. This is the problem Obi will face in all the southeastern states. While Obi naively thinks the youths who are mostly on social media will help him on election day, the real politicians have their people and those will ensure Obi and his party are defeated in all elections including the presidential.

To this end, I don't think Obi can win any state in SE apart from Anambra since APGA doesn't have a formidable presidential candidate. Yes, he will get the required 25% from the states in the region.
Leave those people that believe Peter obi will win a single state, Nigeria election needs mostly politicians than masses, most politicians are not on his side, If he wins a single state, I will respect him

Obi will get atleast 85% of SE votes.

Let’s wait and see. March isn’t far anymore.

It won’t be surprising if Obi has more votes in the South West than the South East

We keep talking about human lives while you keep talking about shallow party politics. If you've lost any person or property to bandits or if you have a family to feed in Nigeria, you'd know that Nigerians don't care about party politics as they care about their lives, families, and destinies.
that will only affect Pdp because of fulani factors, watin concern Tinubu with current situation of things, if you talk about polical Party, Peter obi is also PDP, and Pdp didn't do better when they were given the opportunity. Talk about personality, leave party

I am a registered card carrying member of APC In one of the wards in Abuja and I can tell you with my FULL CHEST that voting in Tinubu will mean Christians in Nigeria will be completely silenced and bullied,Christians will SUFFER DEARLY..Even within our party APC I won’t mention the ward but I am telling you that Christians have been excluded completely..as far as you are a Christian you will NOT be included or carried along in ANYTHING..If this is already happening in the party when BAT isn’t even President yet then imagine what the situation will be like if he is voted as the president..

Don’t be deceived by that rubbish talk that his wife is a Christian bla bla bla it’s all just to draw sentiments..

See any Christian that votes for this man will be forever judged by God with his generation. You may think you are getting money from BAT so no problem Abi?let’s see how you will be able to enjoy the money as a slave or servant when Christian’s become irrelevant if he mistakenly becomes president.

I am NOT a paid Agent and I am telling you the plain truth on MY LIFE as it is happening live in APC Abuja..I don’t know of other states sha. But honestly instead of voting for Tinubu I’d rather vote for Atiku,Obi or kwankwaso because these people have the interest of both Christians and Muslims at heart.
Re: Can Obi Win SE In The Coming Elections? Let's Debate It by harqinhola(m): 11:24pm On Jan 02, 2023
This is the kind of thread I like. Let’s have a constructive argument that is politically feasible and not attacking people online .

Firstly, going by my assumption, Peter Obi may narrowly win SE because a lot of SE electorates will not vote based on political affiliation and party loyalty except the party executives.

That given, my question is , WILL PETER OBI GET 2/3 of the votes in the North ? Can he even get 1/3 ? Even Tinubu will struggle to get 2/3 of the votes in the North .

Coming to SW, will Peter Obi win any state in the SW ? Yes, he might get a large chunk of votes in Lagos and some Christian dominated regions in SW (bear in mind that not all Christians will vote for him. I’m a Christian and I’m not voting for him and there are others like me) but can that suffice ?

A very large number of his “SOCIAL MEDIA” supporters don’t have PVC , those that have won’t risk their lives to vote for him on election day because they are predominantly elites and middle class. When the Wahala ! Wahala !! Wahala!!! Starts , they’ll be in their houses eating chicken and supporting PO with prayers and tweet .

It would have made sense for the South Easterners to advise PO not to run , then the region should mobilise votes for any of the 2 major candidate then negotiate a reciprocating support after the 2nd tenure . In fact , they should have done this long time ago instead of negotiating for spots in the cabinet like they’ve always done with PDP .

THIS IS A DEMOCRATIC NATION , MAJORITY WILL ALWAYS WIN ! Learn to negotiate you way through .

My 2 cents . Thanks

Honestly sometimes I wonder if the black man particularly Nigerian is cursed to slavery because of people like you who are obviously hopeless and beyond redemption.

You are neither a party member or a politician yet you are arguing about what a party member is telling you about his party?it’s like you telling me about what’s going on in your household and family and I am arguing and saying it’s a lie. If a Christian like you can be voting for Tinubu.. A Muslim can also for PO

Just pray Adeboye or Oyedepo don't come out openly as OBJ did to endorse PO

Peter Obi is an unusual candidate. His support base isn't at home, which is good. Obj too was rejected by Yoruba in 1999. So, nothing do PO.

You guys are yet to see. Politicians will not be able to determine much in the elections. Plus, Enugu and Abia Governors are members of G-5 which will make them not to be all-out to support the PDP at the Presidential polls.

Even Ebonyi and Anambra Governors will be careful not to incur the wrath of their citizens. Only Imo Governor will be stupid enough to try to rig for Tinubu, but Imolites are so tough he may meet his Waterloo trying to do that.

An insightful contribution!

Keep encouraging yourself with fake analysis..

The G5 Governors carry only one vote...

They cannot dictate to other influential politicians in the state how and who they should vote for in the Presidential election...

The most shocking thing about Peter Obi's candidacy is that the prominent politicians in Igbo land are not supporting his cause...

The Igbo house is not United and therefore Peter Obi will not win the upcoming General Elections ...

Until Ndigbo put their house in order...

Nigerians cannot take them serious

Where in southwest if I may ask? Obi won't get up to 5% in most of the states in southwest. And in northcentral, he can't win any of the states there. We have seen his campaign in Kogi, Nasarawa, etc.
Obi will win some areas in Lagos. He might win the state or at least score at least 40% in Lagos. Obi is also likely to score at least 20% in Ondo and Ekiti and at least 15% in Ogun, Osun, Oyo and Kwara states.
As for Peter Obi's campaign in Kogi and Nassarawa etc, you should know that most of the people voting Peter Obi don't attend rallies. That doesn't stop the fact that most Christians in the Northcentral and a sizeable number of Muslims there are voting Peter Obi. Moreover, the Labour Party doesn't have the money to buy crowds at rallies unlike the two other major political parties. You can see what happened in Uyo, AkwaIbom state where people that attended a well packed PDP rally were chanting Obi! This is a good example to show that people that attend political rallies don't necessarily vote for the candidate whose rally they attend. Thank you.
