Instead these children are crammed in confined spaces for up to 10 hours everyday, they have smart phones to download porn, they dont read, their exams are done for them, their beds are made for them, surrounding cleaned for them.

During my service year at FGGC Bwari, I had numerous little girls who always found a way to my lodge to do one thing or the other, at first I felt it was harmless until my neighbor told me that if I am not careful, a day will come that I will be taken to NAPTIP.

There was a day the boarding mistress had to call nearby teachers to intervene in a matter concerning a senior student who felt a junior was insulting her by sleeping with the same gateman she sleep with.

We are talking about something serious that affects us and the children we are bringing up, but trust that not everyone will have the sense to make any meaningful contribution.

In the school where I was teaching before now, this children will write a letter to you requesting you become their school father. The funny thing is that all the students writing these letters are the female students. We have many female teachers that could be their school mothers. I didn't understand the code until one of the corrupt male teachers told me what it's all about. The moral decadence in our secondary Schools is very high.

I went to an FGGC and I can tell you that if you don't put the right values in your children, these spoiled kids will influence them.

In 2003, I was in SS1, some girls from my set scaled fence to go party with their boyfriends. The cab man that took them from the fence to the club came back to report to the security at the gate, he then took them to the point at the fence where he picked them up. The house maters and mistresses were informed, principal was informed, house captains were informed.

Immediately, they started roll call house by house, room by room. That's how they found out the students who were missing.

All the prefects slept outside the hostel by hanging around the school waiting for them to come back. They came back on Sunday morning, they were allowed to scale the fence, the moment they entered like this, they were marched to the principal's house while their parents were called to come to school urgently on Monday morning.

By Monday morning, their parents were on the assembly ground when they marched them in with the skimpy clothes they had on. One of them that was influenced was just crying helplessly. Her mum jumped on her and started beating her.

Bottom line, they were sha expelled.

“The secrets and scandals that go on in boarding schools should not be heard by parents!“... I think it's the motto of the heads of departments in boarding schools. Is it sex? Drug abuse? Occultism? It's been going on for a long time.

There's an FGGC near where I live. For personal reasons, I won't disclose the location since this happens in almost all boarding schools.

Those minors no longer look like minors because of the forced maturity they forced themselves into.

Is education really respected anymore? I doubt, in the case of Nigeria..of course. The secondary school is now the most vulnerable! From my experiences while I was in the teaching sector, I think the best time to model a child is in secondary. Most teenage pregnancies happen in JSS3. JSS3? What's going on! And most times, the school doesn't “practically“ frown against it since of its management team are only interested in protecting the image of the school.

Day schools are no exceptions because I have worked in a school where even the director was notorious for having affairs with teachers and students. You need to see an environment where students tend to disrespect teachers because they feel they have an upper hand. Such spoilt brats!

I read the case of the Chris land girl and I wasn't surprised. I don't think any Nigerian teacher will be surprised. Even some management team advises you to “mind your business and job“ anyways.

They do so crazy things. They always have threesomes, foursomes, and group sex. Everyone living close know this because, most times, they are caught by people in the neighbourhood. Some are apprehended, while others are not. Some happen right inside the school! But guess what? The school is so determined to conceal their atrocities. It's no disrespect to state the obvious that (some of) their teachers also use them. They do, indeed. And you'll think they'd be disciplined severely by the school. Don't expect much.

And the rate of lesbianism is appalling. Some of these girls who sneak out at night end up in brothels...sex for money...and the majority of them run to their boyfriends like nymphs. Talk about boyfriends and you know I mean anyone ready to furnish their big lifestyles in school. Of course, most of them hustle to use the latest gadgets. If you are still using the iPhone 11 in the iPhone 14 world, you are in a different clique.

The alarming thing there is that youth corps members stationed there don finish these happy-to-be-used misguided teenagers.

I used to think that, most times, it's people who make advances to these little girls. Bit it's all untrue. These girls will gladly throw themselves at you for favors, marks, and all whatnot. Some are occultic...and if you don't recognize their physical advances, you become a threat.

You would want to remind me they have school guardians. Most of these guardians are only hyperactive when they are with you. After that, that's the end of discussion.

Should we talk about the immoral dressing? That will be for another day.

It's surprising to know but this isn't a university. It's a secondary school.

There's nothing new here. Anyone who's had the opportunity to work in any FGGC knows this.

In fact, what goes on there is worthy of consideration as a dissertation topic. Parents needs to know.


The FG really needs to look into this. And parents have a big role to play. Parents need to create time for their kids. Even most teachers I know in boarding schools don't send their kids to become boarders. Parental neglect is harmful.

This is your experience as a student. I think that was then when it was very functional. My experience as a staff? They will not be punished inasmuch as the matter dies in the school. They'll be forgiven and expected to repent...since you don't flog them and the principal has the final say.

Here's the problem

During my secondary school days, punishment for minor offenses like making noise and being late was flogging.
If you dare fight with your mate with bare hands, the punishment for that is to cut grass, and you must cut at least half a plot of land. 
 
Major offenses like absconding from school during school hours are punished by uprooting a dead but standing palm tree.

In my opinion, I believe peer group pressure is the cause of most inimical behaviours by these kids...we have seen children of clergymen, dress well at home, well behaved before their parents but changes once in boarding schools, some just pretend at home but are leaders in schools.

During our days it was worst but there wasnt much exposure as it is now...I hear even in church owned schools these things still persists..which means it cant be stopped but contained minimally with heavy disciplinary actions from the authorities but if the teachers,house masters and principals are all part of tit then what becomes of the kids?

May we not birth kids that will bring us shame and disgrace.

This is not new anyway. My cousin girlfriend that year in the university shared FGGS experience in middle belt with us. She said they used to invite then 'codedly' to royal father palace.

It has always been like this. I remember around 2007 or 2008 during my senior secondary days, there was this lady in same level with me that aborted and she eventually died on the road due to excessive bleeding. Her corpse was seen early morning on the road surrounded with her own blood gushing out from her private.
Prior to when she died, I heard her people sent her away from home cos of her wayward lifestyle. Jessica was her name. What a brilliant student she was. She would have probably been the head girl if not for her death.
Another student too was found in the toilet with blood gushing out from her private (she didn't die sha). There was this girl too that blood gushed out from her private to the floor, and she was lying it was her period that she saw.
Some girls got pregnant before we wrote out senior WAEC.

As a corper, if not that I came from a home where we are so well disciplined, I would have gotten myself in trouble back in Adamawa State, in fact, two female married school teachers too made advances but meeeee? I couldn't even bring myself to doing it. I was teacher and standing in front of a female staudent one day and she stretched her leg under her locker to touch my leg because she thought I didn't understand her earlier advances like I have shunned many from her colleagues too pretending not to be smart. I soon realised how much of favoured that has done to me when a corper posted to another location came to us being on the run for fcking a housewife and got caught. Those teenagers have hot blood running through their veins telling them to just do it and damn the consequences. May God guard and guide our children.

I will be the last person to send my kids to a boarding school. I wasn't a boarder but I had friends who were. I knew a lot went on. The school I registered my 2vyear old boy, I came one day n d head teacher an Igbo woman who happens to be a little close to me told me of 2;young children of say ages 4-5 kissing when their class teacher went out to ease herself. I was there when she summoned the kids n each of them stated that one other child a female made them do it n out of all d boys, only one boy was being kissed by these 3 famale kids. They were summoned n punished n d head teacher also summoned their parents but still kept them without being expelled. I am moving to a 2 Bedroom flat this month where I will be pay very hugely from the 440k per year I pay in a one room n parlour safe con. This is because, another baby is on d way, my son needs to learn to sleep alone and d new born baby needs space too. The head teacher later learned that d female child asking other females in her class to kiss d boy is from a room apartment. She must have been watching her parents make love n all. My son will be changing school tok this month. And I've vowed my new born baby girl will resume late at 3-4 years old before going to school so that she can tell me who n who is touching her in any way. Parents must brace up, it's a pandemic of sexual pervasion

It seems like education has done more harm than good, some children's attitude are like weed, if you caution them, they'll keep doing what is in their mind, teenagers now see hard drugs like the new normal, there is nothing new in thier eyes.
I can vividly remember when a student came to ask one of my corper friend an abortion pill, the corper told her that she haven't even thought about it before let alone know those pills. If it's not sex, or doing some stupid naked TikTok videos, or smoking shisha, lesbianism, and any other corrupt practice, they will feel like they're not doing well.

unfortunately there is nothing that can b done. . I saw a boarding school housing both male and female pulpils somewhere in Uyo Akwa Ibom. The stste of the school is an i saw, delapitated structures, classroom where nothing to writr home about, tmNo standby teacher mostly the school rely on corpers and the sad thing is that this school has a boarding facility housing about 500 student both male and female, i dont want to tlk about the things i saw but honestly it seems to me like Nobody cares . .
