Don't be. You can still post your questions and get good responses. Nevertheless, everyone should be calming down.

Hello sirs/ ma. I greet you all.

My fiancee was given a conditional admission into Boston university MSc to write a prerequisite Maths course, from the email we shared it was said that the course can be done in the school or a regionally accredited institution...I believe that means the course has to be done in the US/UK.

Is it possible she request for financial aid even tho she is not fully admitted as the conditions states she will only be offered unconditional admission if she gets a "B" in the maths course, and i believe she will have to pay for the course as well based on one of their events attended.

She is considering taking student loan in case the school doesn't offer scholarship.

Pls advice.

This plan can only work in the UK or Canada except you have been working in a business related field?
But then again I believe all things are possible but I love to focus on what I can control than leave things to chance.
Goodluck in your decision.
Cheers!

It is stated as a condition in most schools I have come in contact with that only a fully admitted student can request for financial aid and for now she have a conditional admission which means she is not fully admitted yet and her admission is dependent on she acing the prerequisite.

Such caveat will be written boldly on red on the I-20 and it is a bit of a red flag because you have got some serious explaining to do. Because it means they haven't granted you a full pass into the school.

Is UK regionally close to Boston? Pls contact your school and have them confirm that they will accept a math test result from a UK-based institution… to avoid wasting her resources. Have you tried accredited online colleges within New England region?
Per scholarship, most schools offer that privilege to fully-admitted students, but you can directly ask your school. Good luck!

Pay into a dom account in Naija if the person is from Naija and operates a dom account. You can pay into their Naira account, if they have a Naira account… Does your friend have a trusted 3rd party who can accept $ or its equivalent value, in Naija?

I think you misunderstood some aspects.
I can’t recall him saying people in their 20s can’t get visa. He asked pertinent questions that makes sense. He said because of the gap years (which VOs analyze), you will need to explain it and why you’re applying for a Bachelor’s at 24years when average age of completing secondary school is 18years (emphasis on average)

My opinion: if I am the one that needs the visa, I will pay attention to these questions and statements so I will be more prepared. I will even google and read more on the suggestions. E.g NClex? Cost? Pathway through it? Or package my responses to the questions.

Please, let’s try and read all the previous messages before asking questions. Many of the questions asked have been answered in the previous pages. It can get tiring answering the same questions over and over again. Have an idea of what you want and google “fully funded masters in [course]” or register on profellow (please google it) to get schools that offer your course.

What seems harsh is the truth. Have something on your path so what is given here is a top up.

God bless you all

In point of correction if u are self sponsored the vo doesn't care about the rest of the tuition for other yrs will come from. It is boldly written in the USA site that the u will have to prove to the vo that u can finance ur tuition for the first yr you are goin for. Also I have seen a 27 yr old person get visa for bsc. Even people here on this forum in their 20s are getting visa for bachelors....ohh u taught the us embassy is only for masters students. Cheap peanut brain

I like to be cautious. Even if they write that you need to justify for just 1 year, I don’t believe they won’t think about the future cost - considering that students can only work for 20hours and 40 hours during holidays. How can the meager stipends earned pay for fees of $20,000. What about cost of living?
It’s like saying one can use minimum wage in Nigeria to pay fees in a private University. Reason am.

I did not know actually but based on the "New England stuff" I knew she can't possibly write the course here in Nigeria. Seems it's a problem with Unilag actuarial science curriculum, another school (UK) rejected her because her undergraduate mathematics was not up to required for actuarial science Msc. However, she was advised to apply for computer science.

CBN rate is the only recognized(legalized) exchangeable rate.
So always use the official rate, unofficial rate is backyard runs.

I commented because I followed the entire conversation from when you first posted your comment about being an Auxiliary nurse in Delta state. You still missed the main point of my comment but it’s alright.
I wish you the best in your applications. I believe you know all about what it entails.
