Look, its not a matter of sentiments or 'who has done well enough to deserve a place', etc. Its a case of who would you drop from the list of exceptional players who have consistently been a part of the set up and PERFORMED! I like Zogg and Roosa BUT realistically, then wouldn't make this team. lovewins: |

AkinDS:See what you did here I can't remember any of the list where we had a special category for wingers. Not sure we have any in the last couple of years. You probably did that to accommodate Franny on your midfielders list. Also, I doubt Randy will have these 3 at the same time, Onyi, Peach and Regina. That is also not likely. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 5:49pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
How is that? Look at the spread when we play 4 4 2 - in the middle we have a RW, LW, AM and DM. Onyi is an AM (plays behind the attackers) and can play as a LDM in a 433 setup (her typical role at FSU) Peace Effih can play on the wings (because of her pace) and support the attack as an AM (played this during the WAFCON). Regina is your prototypical DM (played this for club and country). Not trying to force fit anyone into the list - its a case of a back up for every position and a preference for multirole, versatile players. lovewins: |

Danielnino00:Don’t think Ordega have lost any of her touches and pace, she looks off form last year Before and during AWCON… just hope she will be in shape for the World Cup |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 7:25pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
AkinDS:Since you’re setting up players list that would likely make the World Cup team maybe based on Form both Club/Country and consistency in terms of call up… My set up will look like this.. Goalkeeper… 1. Tochukwu Oluehi 2. Chiamaka Nnadozie 3. Yewande Balogun Defense I will go with 4 CBs 1. Osinachi Ohale 2. Ashleigh Plumptre 3. Blessing Demehin 4. Onome Ebi Full Backs LB/RB 5. Michelle Alozie 6. Nicole Payne 7. Patricia George Standby… Onyi Zogg and Ramat Imuran Note; Tony Payne can also come in at FB incase of one or two |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 7:27pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
Midfield In midfield I will like to have AM 1. Ngozi Okobi 2. Tony Payne 3. Onyi Echegini CM/DM 4. Halimatu Ayinde 5. Christy Ucheibe 6. Regina Otu Stand by Rita Chikwelu and Peace Efih |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 7:32pm On Jan 19, 2023*. Modified: 2:08pm On Jan 20, 2023 |
Forward CF 1. Desire Oparanozie 2. Ifeoma Onumonu 3. Asisat Oshoala LWF 4. Esther Okoronkwo 5. Uchenna Kanu RWF 6. Rasheedat Ajibade 7. Fransisca Ordega Standby Monday Gift and Roosa Ariyo How do you guys see my own list? With the way I have set up this list I don’t think Randy would be go all out and pick more than 3 players outside this list possibly Glory Ogbonna etc Again Rasheedat Ajibade can also come in as a Central or Attacking Midfielder which she has done many times if the need arises.. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 7:35pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
lovewins:Maybe he forgot that Desire Oparanozie was excluded because of Boarder restrictions.. Again Roosa Ariyo is pretty inform and should earn a spot in the Provisional list.. Again Onumonu all through last season was poor, her 2021 season was far far better, hopefully we should see a better Onumonu at the World Cup.. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 7:38pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
AkinDS:I think this isn’t right cause the Oparanozie I know in most cases usually drop to the Flank for Asisat Oshoala to pop in at no.9 especially when she scores…From 2014 till date they have been doing this.. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 7:41pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
Again I will start Okoronkwo ahead of Kanu who I think coming fresh off the bench is better like what she did against US giving their right back Huerta a lot of troubles when she came in even the commentators commended her job off the bench.. Okoronkwo have been training since late last year and recently played and score in her Club first game this year, she should be fully ready before the World Cup..

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 7:42pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
Deltamani:These are just basic facts. I like Onumonu, but she didn't have a fantastic season. Her team was probably last on the table last season and she also didn't shine with the Falcons. I hope that she lights up soon, but including an in form Roosa in the provisionals isn't out of place. |

Deltamani:They keep playing their nonsense pattern they will lose. Give Oshoala and Paralluelo the ball and gey out their way!! |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 9:06pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
BascoVanVeli:And Oshoala and Paralluelo came through, what a great run from Oshoala to steal the ball away from the Madrid defender, setting up Paralluelo to Slot in the 3rd goal |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 9:08pm On Jan 19, 2023 |
Even the Penalty Mariona Caldentey scored, Oshoala contributed too giving the pass to Bronze who was brought down by the Real Madrid Defenders. |

Or maybe he didn't... Kind of strange that Marget Belemu, the Zambian #8, who plays for Shanghai Shengli was able to make WAFCON, but not Oparanozie, in spite of the so called 'Boarder restrictions'? Just a thought. Deltamani: |

AkinDS:Which Margaret Belemu played in China? You aren't getting your facts right... |

Deltamani:Paralluelo should be arrested for theft, Oshoala had that goal scored ![]() |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 7:01am On Jan 20, 2023 |
AkinDS:Marget Belemu Wasn’t in China as at then before WAFCON along side Barbara Banda who wasn’t allowed to play. she alongside Tochukwu Oluehi are in the same Club in Turkey, Hakkariguku FC. I think Marget Belemu moved to Turkey after the WAFCON. |

Deltamani:Didn't even need the explaining. It was public information that China had a lockdown. It was all over the news really. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 8:54am On Jan 20, 2023 |
BascoVanVeli:I think Salma made the best decision sha. Oshoala wasn't likely to score as the other defender was closing in and would very likely had stopped her. Oshoala did a great job though. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Danielnino00(m): 9:19am On Jan 20, 2023 |
AkinDS:She never played in China... She signed for the club but didn't play... She wasn't affected by the lockdown in China at all |
