All Guru My brother's and sisters on Nairaland I was refused for the second time based on purpose of visit last month. Now my GCMS note is here. Please I could not upload it here, but please help me to review the V.O' s opinion below. "I have reviewed the application, I have considered the positive factors outlined by the applicant, including statement or other evidence. The applicant is 40 applying for a program in personal Support Worker at New Brunswick community college. The applicant obtained a Masters Degree in arts Humanities/ Social science bin 2018. The applicant has been working bin a Television Station as a photographer, technician, graphics arts, technical and coordinating occupation in motion pictures, broadcasting and the performing arts since 2011, Study plans is vague. The vagueness of the plan leaves no outline to clarify the career educational path for which the sought educational program would be of benefit or how chosen course will improve job prospects back home. The study plan does not appear reasonable given the applicant employment and education history. I note that the client's previous studies were in an unrelated field- the client's previous studies bat a higher academic level than the proposed studies in Canada, the client's proposed studies are not reasonable given their career path. The applicant has not provided compelling reasons outlining the reason for ending previous career in home country to commence in a different field in Canada. I fail to see how the proposed program adequately demonstrate a logical progression of studies career. Given the applicant previous education and employment history. I am not satisfied that the motivation to pursue this particular program at this time in Canada is reasonable". The first refusal was on personal asset and financial status, which I did all I could do to tackle. Now, I have applied to Centennial college for Fall 2023 for TELEVISION AND FILM- BUSINESS, please can this course fly for me? If NO please give me the idea of a good course that will fly. Please all the guru on Nairaland come to my aid. Thank you in advance |

chithec:Yes no two application is the same, police clearance was stated on their site that it’s not needed. Of course, I have noticed if one pay tuition fee, chance of approval is always high. |

BenedictStinson:Congratulations to you and yours If the lady in question is your fiancé, it’s advisable you do a common law marriage which is acceptable by IRCC, then you can apply for her to visit or even SOWP depends on you. And Yes, you can travel in and out as long as your visa is valid. NB: I didn’t say Study Permit. You can also wait for other’s input. Goodluck. |

Hi NL, It’s PPR… I am writing this to contribute my bit because I actually got some knowledge from this trend. I received my PPR on the last week after months of waiting. Below are my timeline and some details: I submitted my application on the 10th September 2022 and did my biometrics on the 14th of September 2022. I did upfront medicals and it was updated 19th of October after sending webforms to Nairobi. After that the wait started. When my application was exactly 12weeks old I started sending countless webforms to Nairobi and IRCC canada but no positive response was received. I had to request GCMS notes on 16th November 2022 but still haven’t received it. I later used a friend to contact an MP who then contacted IRCC on my behalf and they got back saying that my eligibility had started and that every other things is in order. Advising me to wait for them to update me. I noticed that the day my eligibility started was the day the MP got back to my friend with the update. 2 weeks after my eligibility started I received my PPR. My program is 8months and it is a Post Graduate Certificate program. In other to contribute back to NL, I am willing to assist anyone with their admissions and questions if need be. PS: I did my application myself and backed it with prayers and follows up |

AbionaT:The course is a good choice considering your past experience, in your SOP you have to emphasize on the business aspect of the course, ie that the course will help you gain knowledge on the business behind Television and Film especially with the growth in our Local film industry, how you want to position yourself as one of the professionals that will drive the business end of the movie and television industry in Nigeria and Africa, throw in some lines about Nollywood being the fastest growing movie industry and the market acdeptance it is getting now and how your education in Canada will equip you to cash in on the growth. |
