No mind the Ikwerre bigot. He thinks Rivers people are fool. A man that allowed the gratuity liability to pile up to #200 Billion. A man that came in and killed the once boisterous Rivers state Civil service. A man that could not promote civil servants for over 7yrs+. Wike is a plaque and a calamity.

Many Youth in Abonnema died in the hands of Nigerian soldiers just so Wike could win reelection. No Ikwerre soul was lost. Yet he has the temerity to insult the Ijaws by dishing thunder on them.
I thought you said Amaechi payed gratuity, so how did it amount to 200 billion in 8 years? Who was behind the killings In Abonnema? Is it not the same APC you and your ilks are propping up to take over the State? Your only concern is just civil servants, you rant a lot on all wike's thread because you're a civil servant, even if your candidate will win, do you think the civil servants have the numbers to defeat the PDP, when the PDP candidate is also a civil servant? Everywhere in Nigeria, the civil service is not an avenue to get rich, if you're so dissatisfied, you can resign from your civil service job and venture into farming or entrepreneurship. A lot of people are readily available to take your job.

Amaechi paid but couldn't upset all the gratuity liabilities. Wike came in and allowed it to accumulate. Every day, people retire in droves from the service.

I'm not a civil servant but have family members and friends who are civil servants. My mum is a retired nurse that bowed out from the service 7years ago during Wike's first tenure and she has not been paid her gratuity till date. Have friends and acquitannces who are civil servants who daily besiege me for monetary assistance. I also have relations who wrote the Ignatius Ajuri University aptitute test and were shortchanged because they weren't from Ikwerre and neither do they know any politician to pull strings. In all good conscience, do you like the way, Wike has ran Rivers state aground.

As for the Abonnema killing , I was only trying to highlight the fact that many Ijaw lives were cut short just so he could retained his seat. You will recall the treatment Dakuku and APC faced in Okrika during the 2015 campaign. Hkw many ikwerre youth sacrificed his or her life for Wike to be governor nor retain his seat.

As a patriotic Rivers indigene,I owe it as a duty to dispel some of the half-truth and barefaced narrative of El dorado that people outside the state have about Wike and his performance. Is not a matter of being an APC member. Are my analysis not factual? Do I dish out falsehood?

As for the 200Billiion naira gratuity, my uncle happens to be an executive of the union of pensioners in Rivers state. It was from him and got the new. Besides, Beatrice Itobo also alleged the same amount. I could send you link of her interview if you desire.

And pls try and show decorum in your use of language when commenting on my post. You could relay your points without being insolent. I have right to hold personal opinion. I respect your opinion. So I expect you to do same in case.

Rotimi Ameachi did not pay any gratuities, please stop holding brief for him because you're a member of the APC, if he had adopted the pension contribution scheme in his stint as governor and followed it up religiously, the present government would have continued in that path. There is no way the money owed would have amounted to 200 billion in a year, in the 2023 budget, there is a provision for offsetting the gratuities and it was stated clearly that the backlogs will be cleared completely in 2025, personally I think some of the civil servants are just all about themselves, they want to be treated preferentially at the expense of other sectors in the State. I wish the APC guy that says he is a pastor will win, I want to see the magic he will do in the civil service in terms of promotions, employment ( when he's fully aware that there is a limit to how much the civil service can employ because of the wage bill) gratuities and infrastructure. You see, it's very easy to sit on the sidelines to cast aspersions and haul stones, when you get there, you'll realize that things are not as bright as they seem. Your APC that is being touted as the next best thing unleashed violence in the 2019 elections, killed people in Abonnema, killed a lecturer in the ogoni axis. Nigerians really have short memories..

Go and ask. My both parents are retired civil servant. My dad retired as Director of Administration in Amaechi's first tenure and he was paid his gratuity. Is my mum's own that is hanging. I will implore you to go and do your personal findings and get back to me.

I love Rivers state so well. So if I criticize Wike is for the overall good of our state. Everything about me revolves around Rivers state as I represent the diversity of our state. I have affinity to Ogba, Ikwerre, Abua and Okrika. So when I criticize, I ain't doing it for the pleasure of it.

Look at Lagos state for instance, their IGR is close to 750 billion naira annually. Lagos state government under Sanwo Olu went into PPP and today they have the Lekki Deep sea Port. Lagos state government is building another Deep Sea port in Badagry. Lagos state government is building a state owned Airport to compliment that of MMA. Lagos has built the first phase of it's Blue rail transportation. All these projects will create value addition to Lagos. I am seeing Lagos IGR hitting 1Trillion naira in 5years time.

Are you aware, that before now after Lagos state, Rivers state was the second next state with the highest IGR. Abuja has overtaken Rivers state. Rivers state is now third position.

Akwa Ibom built a brand new airport, floated a airline, build a coconut processing plant. All these are value addition.

The Cassava processing plant that Shell and th Dutch Embassy built to the tune of 4 million dollars and handed over to Rivers state government as part of their CSR is wasting away. Wike has refused to put it into good use. The Dr. Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Center that he commisoned last year is still under lock and key. The mother to child hospital, that was built by NDDC and RSG is still under lock and key two years after commissioning. The Syringe factory that was built by Odili and expanded by Amaechi is under lock and key. That facility cost the Rivers state government close to 20 billion naira to erect

With all these i have highlighted, should I stay on this platform and watch people paint a heaven on earth picture of Wike and his performance and I shouldn't deconstruct their lies ? I do not hate Wike. But then again, you don't expect me to cover up for his inadequacy. Our country is the way it is because we have failed to hold our leaders to highest standard. I cannot in good conscience be complicit by keeping a blind eyes to some of the ills of our state.

you don't expect the RSG to build new airports or go into partnership with the Chinese when the airports and the seaport in rivers state are under utilized. Lagos state built the seaport in the lekki axis to decongest the port in apapa because of the time spent in clearing goods in apapa and the attendant traffic in that area. Onne port doesn't have that problem. Are you aware that the rail project was conceived 10 years ago and the cost of the project was grossly overinflated and only 1/3 of the project has been completed. With your tone here, if it had happened in Rivers state, you'll be all over the internet writing epistles about how inept and corrupt the government is and also calling the head huncho a Nebuchadnezzar. Not everything that is being done in Lagos out of necessity should be replicated here. You talk about the hospitals and the cassava factories, you really want the state government to hand over such facilities to inept public officials? At the appropriate time those facilities will be handed over to private entities so they can be managed effectively and optimized for profit. How about you give him props for conceiving and executing those projects, because you're in the opposition, your brain is automatically wired to see the negatives in anything he does. If your APC candidate wins, I hope you'll also criticize him for the good of the state as you've alleged here and besides nobody is painting Rivers as an eldorado.

The two sea ports we have aren't deep enough to accomodate bigger vessels. So the solution is to to build a sea port at Bonny or at Soku. These two areas are close to the Atlantic oceans. But the challenge is that the are inaccessibility by road. But good a thing that Bonny will soon be motorable before the end of the year.

The public servants aren't inept. If I go by your logic, you are simply insinuating that Sim, Wike's annointed is also inept. That's one big misconception. Many our public servants were trained in the best universities in Europe and America. My cousin that was working in the Rivers state Psychiatric hospital but now working in UK, is the head of his unit in UK. We have many good heads who are working in the public service. Do you know that most of the nurses that the RSG trained free of charge in our defunct School of Nursing are working in Uk Hospitals. I know of four of such nurses who left because of Wike's inability to absorb them into the service as is the practice. To the issue of the both hospitals that is undef lock and key, Is a matter of bringing expert to retrain our personnel and also putting a good corporate governance code in place.

I am not of the school of thought that the government cannot manage establishment effectively. Ethiopia Airline is state owned and that Airline has been operating for over 60years+ without private sector involvement. And the Airline is reputed as the best in Africa. So the question is, what is Ethiopia doing differently that we werent doing in Nigeria?

LMAO! grin grin ; everything is wike's fault, my sister worked for a year in Nigeria as a nurse, today she's in the UK, is that his fault too? When she left Nigeria, she left with a lady that went to the school of nursing in one of those south western states (not university o) to England. Nurses are in high demand in Nigeria and they don't stay in the labor market for long after graduation, my sister turned down a job in rivers state because she was insistent on working in Lagos before she travelled. All over Nigeria, nurses leave daily to Saudi Arabia, UK, Australia, the US, is that his fault too? In this part of the world government do not manage businesses effectively. Why did the Obasanjo led administration privitize most of the state owned establishment? How many businesses does Lagos state run directly, even the new ports that was built in the Lagos, the Chinese and tolaram(makers of indomie) are the majority shareholder and they are solely responsible for the day to day running of the business. The onne port is not deep enough but ships still berths in the port, I have friends working in the onne ports and they've made a lot of money, they still insist that the port is underutilized. In your bid to put up a defense you resort to half truths, undue blames and sometimes falsehood...

You just misinterpreted my treatise out of context. You alleged that the public servants are inept. And I punctured your submission by citing the exploits of Rivers people who are working in Uk.

And the reason I cited the cases of the nurses stems from the the two hospitals that is under lock and key. You said in your earlier reposte that experts would be brought to manage the facilities by the next government. And I also cited the case of nurses that were trained free of charge at the defunct Rivers state school of nursing. Part of the preconditions as a Rivers indigene for you to attend the defunct School of Nursing was that the moment you are trained, you will lend your services to the state. And that it is why the moment they are admitted as students, they automatically are recognize as civil servants on a monthly salary of #30,000. This has been the norms since Okilo's admistratuon through Amaechi's government. The nurses from that school constituted the pool of our nursing strength in Rivers state hospitals. Before, Wike came in and demolish the school and built law school on the land.

That's the same thing Okilo did as well in the 70's. He ensured that all Rivers indigene who got overseas scholarship from the State signed an undertaking to come back and lend their services to the Rivers state government.

I am an advocate of slim and efficient civil service. But I'm also of the conviction that the state can also run businesses, if same is commercialized. I agree that PPP model should also be adopted but that will be at great expense to Rivers people, most especially when it relates to the management of hospitals.

If it is other business ventures, I would subscribe to privatizing it with the state having minimal equity stake in the business.

But then all the state own entities that Obasanjo privitize, which of them is working optimally? NEPA that was unbundled and privitize, yet the DISCOs that are private entities are owing the Federal government billions of Naira as support loans. Even Nitel that was privitized is in total rot. I could go on and go.

So we should be expecting the next governor to privatize the Metal waste to weath plant built by Buhari at Emohua and handed over to the Rivers state government under Wike. We should also be expecting the next governor to privatize tthe metal waste to wealth plant built through collaboration with a British Firm and RSG under Amaechi in Kira in Tai LGA? Ditto the Cassava Processing Plant and the Syringe factory. And also the fish farms set up by his predecessor.

The cancer and cardiovascular specialist hospital is too delicate to be handed to public officials to manage. Nurses do not lack jobs, please get your fact rights, other professionals may lack jobs but not nurses and doctors regardless of their grades in school, even in rivers state. Are you also insinuating that NEPA should be handed back to the government? So they can keep subsidizing electricity bills? There's scarcity of fuel today because the federal government is tired of paying subsidies to marketers and you just opined indirectly that the power holding companies should be managed by the government, really? You don't expect a capital intensive business like electricity generation and distribution to be profitable in a short time especially in a country like Nigeria where people do not pay bills commensurate with the power they consume, all over the world, read up on the business model, it takes a lot of time for power businesses to be profitable even in developed climes. Yes I opined that public officials are inept because their salaries are not tied to productivity, compared to private establishments where productivity and efficiency is essential. In state owned establishments, there is this general attitude of laxity associated with work . Give an example of a profitable state owned establishment or ministry in rivers state?

So what exactly is his experience? Maybe experience in failing

The Rivers state Microfinance bank only receive a yearly subvention from the government. Every other thing like salaries and what have you is paid from profit so generated from the loans disbursed to traders. That body is working efficiently because it has a good corporate governance code. We have cash generating agencies at the Federal level. Same way we have in Rivers state. The Rivers state Internal Revenue Board, do you know they are cash generating agencies. That the government do not fund their activities. Rather they fund their activities from a fraction of a the money they generate.

Government businesses only dies when it isn't commercialized. Enthiopia Airline is state owned but it is run like a business. Same way government can run agencies if it is commercialized. Why most government entities failed in time past was because it was conceived to render subsidized service rather than making profit.
