They will keep extending the dead line until the commercial banks stop issuing the old notes.

That is the only option. If Banks are still issuing old notes over the counter then there is a problem somewhere...

I know but the pos merchants are still giving out old notes to their customers.

It's your right to ask for new notes at the POS and if they don't have you should move to the next POS

This is the prophecy below.

Story. Something they will still extend again.

That extension go reach May.

Buhari's has no ball. Common sense suppose tell him he's to give 6 months notice ahead for the new notes to be in full circulation. If he did the policy in order to curb politicians, then it has failed with the extension.
I just don't like a man that pretends to be good but is very bad!
At the end, people ll hate APC more cos the common man has nothing more to go and change in the bank.
The looters has 10 more days to loot/exchange old notes. So...I disagree with the president on this extension. If I m in his shoes, I would v implemented this policy since early last year and give 6 months maximum notice with eagles eyes to watch who's exchanging huge cash. I go catch lots of people and ask where they saw huge cash to exchange.
Honestly.

Atiku also ask for an extension yesterday

So is insufficient cash in Nigeria going to affect Nigerians or Politicians?

It makes no sense phasing out the old cash I less than 3 month

If the new notes do not circulate within 10 days and the banks are still paying over the counter within this same 10 days, then there will still be an extension
Atiku only urged the CBN for extention, unlike Tinubu who complained openly as being a measure to undermine his election.

Don't worry, the new naira notes are more than enough in the CBN's vaults. I'm giving you a reliable information. It doesn't take the cbn more than a week to flood banks HQs through the regional cbn branches with new naira notes. Cash withdrawal would he very limited. You'd not be able to cash more than 20k from.the atm daily . There's also cash withdrawal limit for individuals and corporate bodies across the counter, daily with close monitoring.

In whose hand do you think the limited new notes that was printed ended? the politicians already exchanged theirs. New note is no longer available in Banks for ATM... average man on the street suffers it. with the extension, there won't still be the rebranded note in circulation and we shall all see the end result.

You can say that again! If we are all doing that, they would be forced to bring the new notes closer to the customers even if they have to increase the charges for inconvenience and long queueing at the ATMs that bring out such.

There's enough new notes in the CBN's vaults nationwide in their regional offices. All they need do is move them to commercial banks after the necessary process is completed

If you are not biased or stupid, doesn't that tell you that Tinubu is way smarter than these olodo mumus masquerading as IPOB Zombidients and PD-PIGS.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

To me the policy would not achieve anything. It would even make vote buying to be escalated since there would be limited cash in circulation during the elections. The politians had already hijacked and hoarded enough of these new currencies but only the security agencies can curb the issue of vote buying on election days only if they are determined.

Politicians have unrestricted access to Dollars in the black market

This is not true, the dollars sold by the BDC are also controlled. Nigeria don't mint dollar and can only get dollar through it's foreign reserve and sold to BDC through secondary market called Dutch auction, all these can be controlled by CBN, the only way politicians can have unrestricted access to a certain amount is going through the central bank, otherwise there are limits of dollar that the BDC can purchase or sold, this is the simple reason Dangote and all the big industrialist close to power liaise with CBN.

what are you saying? No country will give such a short period for a thing like this. In 1984 the same burhari did the same rubbish many people suffered. Rural dwellers lost their money.

If there are no banks and mediums of communication in the so-called rural areas then what you're saying would make sense.

However, banks are overcrowded in urban areas even though they've known all along that Jan 31st would be the last day to deposit their old money.

If vendors stopped accepting old banknotes since Jan 1st, the situation would have been different. After all, there are other modes of payment without a physical cash exchange.

You and other idiôts currently queuing in banks right now are incorrigible fools or criminals.
