Although a cover letter is not a required document, as I mentioned in the post you quoted, I
still believe an applicant should write one if he or she thinks that will help the visa application.

Bro, I am still learning. I am not an expert in this visa thing. Anyway, thanks for that information.

Hi guys. So I applied for a visit visa last December and was refused. The major reason was my financials and ties. The ECO said that my personal account was inflated which is actually true but because I got
2 contract jobs just a month before I applied (they are both HR jobs and was supposed to be for just a month) and they paid me through my personal account, though I presented the contract documents). And there are also monies from my boyfriend and siblings which I explained in the cover letter I submitted.

My boyfriend is sponsoring the whole trip as he is in the UK (not as a student), all his necessary documents were submitted. And we want to try again since my birthday is coming up.

So my question is, in the previous application, I presented my salary account and savings account and also my piggyvest account. Now, for the new application, I want to submit just my salary account and declare that I don't have other source of income...is this going to be a problem?

Also, since I don't have any assets, how else can I proof my ties asides my work?

Please I need you guys to critique on the refusal and advise šŸ˜”

Ok, if I may ask, how do you survive in Nigeria then, since you have stated that you partake in an unpaid internship?

Your sisterā€™s circumstance isnā€™t an issue. Another problem is you saying you will be staying for 3-4 months, thatā€™s a huge red flag to to the ECO.

You must have something that is supposed to compel you to come back to Nigeria. Like Giselle said, this your case will be hard o. Had it been that you have a good job here, even if you plan to japa when you get there, it wonā€™t be suspected

Okay for emphasis, I just finished my studies around December, but I currently started an unpaid internship within the school too. As per how I survive, I am placed on a monthly stipend of 25k from an uncle. And I occasionally get lots of cash gifts from my siblings and relatives. In addition to being an intern, I work as volunteer historian in a cultural institute and I have been with them for over three years. How about these?

Ashirioluwa:

I was thinking the 5K was for vacation. The money is not too much. You might need more than that for a stay of 3 to 4 months.

As per the Standard Visitor Visa for medical treatment in the UK, you will need to prove:

That you have a medical condition that needs private consultation or treatment in the UK.

That you have made arrangements for consultations or treatment.

You need to show you have enough money to cover the cost of this treatment. If you talk to a consultant in the UK, you will be able to determine how much money is going to be enough.

You will leave the UK once your treatment is completed, or before your visa expires.

No, not a medical treatment, but my sister is expecting a baby in the next two months and needs assistance as she already has two other kids. So she is getting a letter of consent from her hospital stating thus. Kindly advise please

everything you have written is a no noā€¦
Look for another way to phrase the support you are coming to offer.. also pls duration should be about 1 month.. you are a student, how do you want to tell the visa officer you are leaving your studies for 3 to 4 months to go to the UK to offer help to your pregnant sister?? Is your studying not important? lastly your sisterā€™s status has no business on this application. The onus is on you to have a credible profile of one who has much to lose if they dnt return to their home country. The picture you are painting is of someone who has little or nothing tying/tieing them to Nigeria. This is a great way to pack a refusal.

Hello, thanks. Iā€™m not exactly a student but an intern in a university environment. I just started, having graduated just last December. I also work as a volunteer historian for a cultural institute in my state. Is this good enough reason?

Thanks for your response, what I mean under what category should I upload my cover letter after I have paid for my visa fee. Is it ''OTHER'' ?

I hope I can book Bed in 12 bed mixed Dormitory room with shared bathroom?

not strong enough as ties in my opinion. They can be abandoned for greener pastures

Honestly, these ECOs think left sometimes.. they do their job without emotion. Now, an emotional person will see all youā€™ve written and consider your application, but you see those ECOs, they want you to ā€œCOMPELā€ them. In order words, force them with a strong conviction to give you the visa.

Let me give you a practical example of what the ECO would assume if you were to hand in your application. The ECO would say, since your family is your means of survival here, and you are going to visit your sister who is also family, there is a high chance of illegal immigration as you sister can hide you and fend for you. Do you get? If she was your wife, it would have been a different case.

If you had a property you rent, that wouldā€™ve helped. Also, if you were the only child of your parents left in Nigeria, we could say that you are the only one that takes care of your sick parent since your sister lives in the uk and she canā€™t come back home regularly to attend to your mumā€™s needs because of distance. So since your mum is very sick and canā€™t travel, that you are going to represent her in order to help your sister for two weeks, as the only relative she has left. That all necessary arrangements have been made for your sick mum whilst you will be gone for two weeks since your dad is late and no family to attend to her. You can show proof of payment to the carer etc for that period of two weeks. If possible, you can make a short video of your mum in a sick state, granting you her permission to go on the trip, and demanding you come back as soon as possible.

This is just my opinion, because this your situation is tough honestly

So in order words, both the savings and piggyvest are both savings. See the issue here is not about just having savings, you need to show the origin of these savings. How you have been depositing the money monthly, as well as the origin. Your savings should have a custom, just like your salary. There has to be a build up. You canā€™t just attach different savings account without appropriate origin of funds. As that is what the ECO is saying there. In your next application, still include your savings, but explain where they came from. If from your salary, show atleast 2 or 3 times such amounts left your salary account, or if you did that for 6 months period, also indicate all of that. From there, the ECO will be able to judge your circumstance. Every bulk deposits or withdrawals in your accounts asides from your salary and monthly expenditures, should be explained.

I understand you. Can I state that Iā€™m supervising a family building undergoing construction in my state? My mother would have made the trip, but she is currently taking care of my dad who is ill. What do you think please?

dey play.. asin they would give you visa for an uncle to sponsor you to go for a relativeā€™s graduation with a salary of 30k profile? Not going to work .

For a visitor visa, the most important is your financial integrity in your home country. If you can prove strong financial ties, then there is a high probability for visa approval.
what I meant is that my uncle and I wants to apply for visitor visa (not sponsor me) to visit my sibling for his UK graduation ceremony. Are you saying that they won't accept my uncle as a family member at all or that Uncle won't be eligible for a visitor visa to see his nephew in UK?

I mistakenly assumed that you were intending to apply for a visa to receiveĀ medical care in the UK.

There are too many red flags in this your story, and I don't believe anyĀ rational individual will see you as a genuineĀ traveler.

You don't have any "home and economic ties," which is one of the key factors the ECO considers before arriving atĀ a decision.

I won't lie to you; the likelihood that you will be granted a visa based on this story is extremely slim.
Ā
This is just my own personal opinion. I am not hereĀ to discourage you.

I am saying your uncleā€™s profile has nothing to do with you or your brother. All visitors will be assessed in their own rights. U went on to say u earn 30k monthly and I said give the application a rethink as no visa officer will ignore such a financial history from you because you claim to be going for a graduation. .. more so because u cnt even sponsor the trip for the graduation..

Hello everyone,

I paid Ā£70 for a 'flexi' appointment for my biometrics at my local TLS Contact centre yesterday as there were no available dates for self-service appointments until April 2023 (which is when I intend to travel) but I am yet to receive a payment confirmation.

The date of my intended appointment is Monday next week. Can I show up at the centre with an email printout from my bank confirming the payment as well as a printout of a screenshot of my application page showing the appointment date?

Thank you.
