Lifestone:I understand your point but you could never compare the living or the life of a cleaner in naigeria to the one in the UK. It is also about their wages it includes the benefits and working conditions. For some people it isn't all about money. My point was to point out that cleaning is just a job, just like any other jobs, people do not take their occupations descriptions where ever they go. You might meet someone at a train station without knowing their job is cleaning. Some naigerians living in naigeria sees cleaning in the UK or anywhere else as a poor folk jobs or that cleaners are not humans. My mother was a cleaner for many years, she managed to raise me into a responsible man from her cleaning job. |

They’re in a land where you make money from working. I can’t say the same here or in China. |

one thing I understand about this journey is that only people with the "japa or die trying" mentality will eventually find peace while embarking on the journey. if you still love your life, I don't think you will make it on this journey. The journey is for people that are suicidal and ready to die or accept whatever fate that comes their way. All these ones saying 1 million Naira are just saying what they heard from people. My guy that embarked on this journey, he had nothing... not even one naira. He begged his way through these big dangote lorries till he got to Katsina. From there he did some concrete work to get as low as 30k within 3 months and crossed the border to Niger republic. There in Niger republic he did some risky jobs that earned him enough money to travel to agadez, from there, he kept grinding with his hands until he got to the point of crossing sea. even at that, he had worked hard to get money to cross the sea. I don't know his story now, but one thing for sure... if you afraid of death, you can't make it on this journey. Just get your life in order, say your goodbyes and off you go. |
