You pushed your luck. Zero funding,.. Not able to state in clear numbers how much your mum makes in a month/year. weak presentation. Prepare harder and reapply

REJECTION is simply a REDIRECTION.
Always pray not to be the next in line when someone pissed your examiner.
What's the total cost of attendance? Try and find a school that is much cheaper or can give you some funding.

you can hang around the premises. You don't need to pay nobody. Just bring your blanket for sleeping

about 26k sir,

It is fair.
You can always reapply but try and seek a school that will give some funding, like SFBU.
Also, prepare very well for your interview. Watch ARGO VISA on youtube. It will help with how you answer your questions.
Take your interview seriously like you would in a job interview.
Practice makes perfect.
Like BigIyanga suggested, endeavor to mention the annual income of your mom when you next visit the embassy. It will give the officer an idea of your financial circumstance in Nigeria if you can finance your studies.

Apply to other schools.. Arizona State Uni offers some funding.. dunno their requirements.

Also, you have to be intentionally methodical about your finances.. how much you earn in yr.. and how much you have saved up for self-sponsorship. What % of your COA is gonna be self-funded?
What percentage is coming from your mum. How much she earns in a year. Is she’s a business owner, get an account to prepare income/loss statement

Please a quick question house..
I paid for mrv last year and had a scheduled interview but it was cancelled due to that security threat, now I am about re booking a new date.. My question now is, is that mrv still applicable? Or I have to pay another?

Yes it might, firstly you have to correct it and then tell the VO you have a remark to make before you start.

Oh! I wil ask the VO to let me make a remark and politely tell the VO that there's a mistake in my birthdate through an agent who filled immigration documents for me long time ago

This is not a problem if your passport reflects your real age.
Just apply for your student visa with your real information. Fill out the new DS-160 with real information during this application.

Ok. Thank you
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by petertunde(m): 7:29pm On Feb 06, 2023
BigIyanga:

1: Take ownership and do things by yourself.
2: Try and see if you can change info in your DS160 application.
3: Do it yourself
Also, it seems that wasnt the primary reason why you were denied. Try working on your home tie issue.
Thanks so much

From your moniker, You just might be my namesake.

I'm working towards PhD Fall 2023 also.

My discipline is Electrical Engineering. At the moment I am preparing for my GRE and it has really been demanding. Combining work, family and trying to study has not been easy, but God has been helping me.

I will be taking my GRE August, If you're taking the test we can connect.
Hi hope you got offers

Well, I won’t mention the school. But it is a PhD in engineering in a university in new york. I graduated 2012. I wrote Gre and toefl. Fully funded offer

I’m yet to get my I-20, can I book appointment as I am expecting it in 4weeks time? And I was told the I-20 is going to be electronic(pdf). Will that be accepted ?

Why the secrecy? A lot of people share their school, their academic profiles etc on forums all the time. Maybe it’s a Nigerian thing because this isn’t the norm on Reddit.

You can’t book an appointment yet. You need the 1-20 and you should pay the sevis fee too. Electronic (Emailed) I20 are acceptable. There’s enough time for visa waka. August is still far.

Please I also have similar question

My start date’s 11th of August2023 while my available date for F1 interview is on the 11th of September 2023.

My question is should I request for emergency date now or I should wait till June before I request for emergency date?

And how can i win the Vo over with $44k without funding?

My mum is my sponsor and I have strong financial document to back it up, pls your advice will be appreciated

Ok thanks. When I get my visa I’ll talk about the school. In the email I receive the office of international admission advise that I apply without the I-20

What’s the biggie about your school??
Selfishness to the Max 3.0 lol
your success at the embassy is not going to be stopped by disclosing the school that offered you admission.

Goodday sir. I don’t know if we can talk on email. I’m trying to pay my application fee but it’s rejecting my card. I heard spending limit in Nigeria is now 20 dollars per month according to CBN and my fee is 50 dollars. I just need someone I can send the money to in naira over there that can help me out. Thank you sir.
Go and get dollar card from UBA
