Pipefitter: You're just dangling around the right thing! I wonder! Is it Russian Supreme Court to prosecute Russian or International criminal Court? You should be wary in compounding issues! National and international issues are two different things, ok. Don't you know Russian can be impeached by the parliament that voted into power? Or you think Putin alone is responsible for the war in Ukraine without the support of Russian parliament and others power organs/political actors in Russia? If the Judiciary is the least why would President elect of any country including Nigeria bowl to take its oath on Inauguration? Go and browse the meaning of separation of power before spewing jargons out there, because you need a proper self-learning to improve on your personal understanding. |

Mindlog: While I hate the disregard for the rule of law . The Supreme Court has brought itself to serious disrepute with a couple of their controversial judgements . Most Nigerians look at them with a lot of disdain . Their judgements reek of political influence . |

derecho: Hmm... Is it possible that right thinking people will celebrate Buhari for disobeying court orders and refusing to respect the Constitution in the separation of powers? I doubt it. An injustice is an injustice whether it is to you or to people you do not like. Stop encouraging the foundations of a Banana Republic that would do even you no good in the long run! |

BamakSNR: Keep wailing .. It’s like saying you have to wait for the Courts to determine if the President can order the Chief of Army staff .. Does that make any sense to you ? It’s an abuse of Court process |

baralatie:CBN is under the hold of the executive arm of government and it's it prerogative to do what it deems fit for the country's economy. Cut this man some slack on this policy bro, the Supreme Court doesn't know more than the CBN when it comes to financial matters. The actions of the Supreme Court can be better interpreted as an act of sabotage on financial policies that will boost the country's economy. He the President would not watch these sets of selfish politicians and other disgruntled elements to truncate good economic policies using their stooge. Is this the only thing affecting Nigerians? Why haven't they spoken about fuel scarcity if they love Nigerians this much? |

dickson2000:If the case had not been brought before the supreme court! And the supreme did what was needful Would the president had discussed with the governor's on the solution on this cash crisis |
Re: Adegboruwa: Buhari’s Broadcast Contempt Of Court by callthefred: 4:06pm On Feb 16, 2023 |
How some persons think the President can disobey the Supreme court still baffles me. Many allege the court of selling judgement but would never ask what lawyers argue in court or what the judgment was premised upon. I blame lazy foolish lawyers who after bungling a clients case would rather promote the narrative that judges have been bribed instead of admitting that they were defeated by a more brilliant lawyer. One thing I know is that the Supreme court would have the last laugh and for anyone to think the President's powers are absolute, they must be lacking in knowledge. |
Re: Adegboruwa: Buhari’s Broadcast Contempt Of Court by dickson2000(m): 4:42pm On Feb 16, 2023 |
baralatie:Wasn't it the same sets of Governors that petitioned the Federal Government at the Supreme Court who absolved the President of ulterior motives but accused the CBN governor alongside some cabalists in the presidency (who are all the President's subjects) of promoting this policy for their own selfish interest? It's all about conflict of interest here else you wouldn't have heard any governor going to court against its own led government. Going back to the policy, nothing is wrong with it and the Supreme Court shouldn't set itself up for issues of this nature because judgement would definitely go to the highest bidder regardless of who the judgement ought to favor. The seat of the President is bound by law of the land. However, if the President sees that salient National issues like this that even the Supreme Court should help enforce is being jeopardized by Supreme Court, then he's got to take the bull by the horns. |
