A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Folasade Aliu has said that the party’s flag bearer, Rabiu Kwankwaso is not stepping down for his counterparts in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu; and in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Aliu, a National Campaign Secretary for the NNPP, spoke on The 2023 Verdict, Channels Television’s special election programme on Tuesday.

There have been reports of a possible merger between the NNPP and some of the bigger parties for the presidential poll but Kwankwaso’s camp has been consistent in dismissing the claims as untrue.

According to Aliu, Kwankwaso is prepared for the task and he has been vocal in engaging Nigerians about his plans for the country if he wins the February 25 poll.

“We are preparing for this and we are telling Nigerians one-on-one the love we have for this country,” she said.

“So, the issue of Kwankwaso is stepping down or merging with Tinubu or stepping down for Atiku is absolute nonsense. It’s not going to happen. It’s just the strategy of some mischievous people. As I speak with you, he is on the road, he is talking to people."

“We have gone to 600 plus local governments. Does that seem like somebody that is stepping down?” Aliu queried.

“We are not stepping down for anybody. NNPP is not merging with anybody. If you have something to offer Nigerians, let them know. If you don’t have, go home and sleep.”

I can't still belive that till this moment, some Tinubu's supporters are still salivating and begging Kwankwaso to step down for Tinubu..

Only a weak politician would be begging people up and down to step down for him... They should all test their popularity at the poll ..

I was surprised seeing some of their comments yesterday how a PHD holder will step down for a horrible character like Tinubu, the man hurriedly came out and threw their hope under the bus by debunking the fake news/rumours ...

Tinubu is gone politically...

No Kano

No Rivers

No Lagos...

It's a pity..

This is the time for us to do away with tribalism, religion and personal interests

Even a 14 year old in Nigeria as at this moment knows
Who we want as the president

For a man to be able to perform very well that man must be physically fit, mentally fit and he must be aware of his environment
Lets not pretend that we are not aware that a particular candidate is not mentally and physically fit
He is not even aware of what is going on in his environment

Every Nigeria knows this..please don't because of tribe and religion repeat our mistakes
