Hey everyone,

My family are visiting me in the UK within the next couple of months. They have gotten their UK visitor visa, and also a Schengen transit visa (2 entries) from the French Embassy to be able to get cheaper tickets (direct flights are ridiculously expensive).

The problem is the Air France flights for the dates they want to travel are now quite expensive (still cheaper than direct), but there are KLM flights which are considerably cheaper however this would mean they will have to stop over in the Netherlands instead of France.

I know with a normal Schengen visa (short stay or long stay) you are required to first visit the country that issued the Schengen visa; is that the same for transit visas? As they are only in transit does it matter what Schengen country they travel through?

Thank you!

IAMSYLVIA:
Hello.
Good evening
So I have some questions.
Currently a student, finishing in May and would be having my grad ceremony in July and I want to invite my mum over to attend.
My mum isn’t working , though she has the money to sponsor herself, but don’t want the whole “where is the money coming from” complicate matters.
And being in a student visa currently may affect the decision because they might wonder where I got the money from to sponsor her.
I also have a sister here who’s working already and I want to know if my sister can act as the sponsor for my mum coming over for my graduation.
let ur sister sponsor..

i think the rule is to have the visa to be allowed in the Schenghen area or valid American, Japanese, Canadaian visas.. can’t remember them mentioning on their site that it must be valid for the country u applied for or must be used for the country

Having millions in your account is not what the ECO wants to see.

How does ur disposable income of 186k now yield 13 million naira as well as prove essentially to the ECO the origin of these funds and how they are truly yours?
So is it that you earn a salary working for someone and then also have a business .. so 2 jobs? How did you acquire the properties you got? How dis you get the 13 million? There must be paper trail with this your situation except you have competent travel history-US, Schenghen, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and likes.. that’s the only thing that can come to my mind.
Otherwise things are not plainly adding up as you also mention your salary stopped coming in from September 2022.
You also mention Canada in the grand scheme, do you have the Canadian entry visa on your passport ? If yes it helps ur case. If it just admission you have and the above story, I believe you should abort this mission or resume school in Canada and try it out. That’s better
If I have misunderstood any part of your circumstances pls restate it for me. Thank you

hotboss:

Total balance in 2 accounts is about 13m. ( 8m and 5m)
Salary 276k monthly expenses is 90k. I do not pay rent. I own.
The trip will actually cost me about: 1million ( with d price of flight I'm getting now)Registered bizness but d bank account is not functioning. So I use my personal accounts mostly to do my trades. Profits per year can be up to 2m. I'm on study leave to study in canada. The last payment I got was last year September. Bcz I deffered d studies and came back to Nigeria to attend to famiky emergency. If I resume school, I will be getting 45% of my salary. One of the accounts have huge outflow bcz of a project I just finished. The other account only hv inflow of interest paid by bank monthly.
I have properties.
Family won't travel with me.
I hv a 4 days conference to attend. How best can I present my case and pls what are ur advise. If I should apply or not.

Thank you so much

Thanks - wish there was a way to confirm. I don't want them to have any issues departing Lagos, or be refused transit in the Netherlands.

Do not exceed your allowable stay in the uk as a visitor which is 6 months. However you can change your visa when you get a sponsor. To apply from within the uk is usually about 8 weeks. Also no employer will allow you start working if this is not sorted out. so apply early.
Good luck

Good day my people. I don’t know if anyone has an ideas if it’s possible for one to change from UK visitor visa to any other visa class (work etc) within the UK that will keep one status legal beyond 6 months. Kindly share any information via email please.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Newbiein2016: 12:08pm On Feb 22, 2023
Does the transit visa specify that it is a "France Airport transit visa" or a schengen transit visa?

As AF/KLM are sister airlines of a sort, I don't think this will pose a problem for them.

But feel free to call the airlines for confirmation - some agents might not be able to help so insist on speaking with a supervisor or someone with adequate knowledge.

Best of luck!

I believe you can fly KLM with the transit visa issued by France embassy.

The Netherlands Embassy in Nigeria does not issue transit visas.

You can contact KLM for more information concerning this.

The Canadian visa on your passport although a great thing is also going to raise some questions. Student has valid visa but due to some circumstances had to temporarily suspend studies and return home. At home now he has decided to defer his admission to another year. Now he is deciding to go to UK for a business conference for 4 days. Please how does this business conference help you and why now?
Someone some time ago mentioned crypto as the source of her husband’s funds. I dnt know if they actually mentioned this to the visa officer.
Also ur disposable income is too low to supprt this application so its best to be able to figure out if this business conference is worth it and how to present your building materials and crypto story to them because you can not afford this trip presenting a disposable income of 186k as the source of your funds.

Are you certain of this your "however "? It is clear on gov.uk that you Cannot change some visas to another visa category.

The best and even the worst immigration solicitors would advise you use monies you'd had use to pay them and buy a return ticket home and do the needful.
If you have a sponsor what is difficult in returning home and complete a very easy process with no stress, rather than trying to force or bend things that may not be bendable.....

The UK recently launched this new visa, "Visit the UK for a Permitted Paid Engagement." You may be able to visit the UK for a paid engagement if you’ve been invited as an expert in your profession by a UK-based organisation or client.

You can visit the UK for up to 1 month. You cannot extend your stay in the UK.

Good Day Honourable's in the house,

Thanks to you all for always answering my questions,

My sister and her hubby plus 5 children has gotten Their UK work Visa's, she's the Major applicant,

she wants to travel first as the Major applicant while her hubby and the kid's will Join later but on a second thought, they are thinking of travelling together with their kid's,

My question is This, is it better for her to travel first or travel with her entire family?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of travelling together with her entire Family??

Waiting for responses, thanks.

OK, finally went with access bank, adb supervisor initially marked it for rejection as i didnt upload my intl passport, i hv now uploaded same,, and its been approved-. you know the next step after this?

You will need to confirm with your branch bank, maybe talk to someone, normally banks send names of those that applied and have been approved to CBN for disbursement, but if you meet someone in your bank, the person can watch for you and let you know when your name is approved or listed to get disbursed to, I mean the exact date you will need to come pick up the funds.

5 children and 2 adults without accommodation will be stressful. too much, that’s 7 people. No one will give them say a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom so accommodation needs to go and be sorted. Even air b n b host will not take 7 ppl into one room.
