Casemiro to sit as the CDM and Fred and Sabitzer to shadow and press FDJ and Busquets respectively. What we don't want is for Busquets and FDJ to seize that midfield and monopolize possession at Old Trafford.

Sancho, McTominay, Garnacho, Malacia, AWB et al on the bench, though an option if ETH wants to be ultra-attacking is Sancho at 10 for Sabitzer but Sancho might not be able to do the pressing needed in that role.

I think Fred/Sabitzer will exit for Sancho.
it's a home game and I suspect Ten Hag will look to get a goal or two advantage early enough in the game, then settle it by bringing more control to the midfield. if it goes to plan, we'd likely end the game in a 3-5-2.

Sancho at the 10 is what i would love to see if we are controlling a game. I am just not sure about his ability to press and hassle the Barca midfielders. It is going to require extra energy and discipline to stop Busquets and FDJ from seizing that midfield. Busquets for all his defensive frailties and his age is still a triangle master. It only takes a little laxity from us and they will be passing in triangles while we run in circles.

Having said all that, i trust ETH to be able to set us up in a winning line-up, and if things are not going great he can rejig it .

yeah that's why going for it while the game is rather unsettled is our best bet. having said that, irrespective of who plays in midfield for Barca, the possession will not be one sided for the simple fact that our passing from back will be a lot more precise than in Camp Nou.
