You're right , their roads are top notch. Street lighted, different lanes for motorcycles, bicycles and vehicles.
The toll gate, entering Benin republic from Seme border is world class. I don't know if the standard is still maintained as i was last in Benin over 15 years ago. But mehn, i always relish my growing up experience in Benin republic.
The local people are friendly as anything, i lived with many families while my dad was away.

Wow... 15yrs is quite a long time bro. U may not recognize places anymore based on the transformation. The tollgate is still looking sweet till date. A very clean and beautiful entry point

How many people are in bene republic again?

If Nigeria was just like eg Ebonyi, small, maybe 5 million people, it will be very easy to govern.

Don’t be comparing 5million people to 250 million people. Over 300 ethnic groups. Over 500 languages. Oboy, incomparable.

I guess china, India and USA would have been a shit hole if population hinders development. If u are talking in terms of crime, I will agree with bro. Instead of u to blame the corrupt leaders, u are bringing population into this. It's well

The price of arrogance is that you see past your shortcomings while others you look down upon grow even better. As someone that have been to Benin republic, I completely agree with the poster.

Only that for Nigerians, abroad have to be when they live with white people. Of course you should move to the West, but if that's not attainable, then neighbouring countries ain't bad either. Ivory Coast is also a good one and even better than Benin.

If your idea of a good life is good roads, security, safety, sane citizen and be contented with the basics of life, to run your business in peace, and can achieve Self-actualisation with hard work, then lots of countries within Africa offers that.

If the smaller African countries have all these basic things, then why have Nigerians who brag on being giants of Africans failed to make them possible in our own country?

Are we so dumb to work with the understanding of a sound mind (individual) is found in a healthy body (country)

That's why it will be the best thing if we can separate or at least restructure the country based on pre 1966 coup.

From my understanding so far, as long u meet the needs of the people, u will definitely sell. The most popular skill work here, is Tailoring and Hairdressing. As long as u package urs properly, u will sell, most might be poor but don't joke with their hairs and clothes. One of the cheapest hairdo with long attachment here is about 10k cefa.
Tailoring is lucative too especially when u locate your shop around places that have high concentration of Nigerians or inside Tokpa market.
There is this Nigerian lady that made a clothe for my friend for 20k cefa and I was wondering . Though wasn't too surprised cos we found it hard locating a female Nigerian tailor until we met her. If u wish to make enquiry of any kind from her on sewing, u can reach out via her Whatsapp number +2348067741738. She even makes fine beach wears for ladies.

Meanwhile most of their products here come from Nigeria like good soft bread except u wan eat the Tapalapa as I use to know it from other African countries. Very hard bread but adored here. Things like noodle, spaghetti, soaps, beverages, detergents etc all come from naija.
Sales of building materials are good too cos they long gigantic useless houses when they pick small money lol.
Sales of sewing machine accessories and manual machine sales is a good deal and it sells very fast.
Sales of fanciful home furnitures is bae here and our naija guys are deep in it. Sales of low quality mattress is bae too
Bike parts is lucrative. Motorpart is good too from my recent discovery is goid. It has high profit margin same with stuffs like printers, scanners etc.
2nd hand Android phones not above 60k cefa is a good deal as long as it does WhatsApp. They even buy HTC till date.
Phone repairs and laptop repairs and sales, will pay u well here if u are competent in it.
*Note: learn all skills in naija cos coming to learn it here is very expensive.
If u wanna deal on 2nd hand clothes, bags and shoes, u can buy and sell in naija or shift to another city to sell. U can start this with little money if u don't have enough money for bale, u can come urself or locate a trusted fellow to do picking for u which I even prefer cos in bales, u must surely get some rubbish. No matter what, the profit is still cool.
Ssales of Electricals is also a nice biz, Running a bar is nice too cos them like enjoyment oo.
If u have strength to sell naija foods with good location, u will be cashing out well. Etc. I don tire to write abeg

Don't have that info at the moment, maybe someone with knowledge about it will answer u. Though very possible to get but will cost u some good money to get that. I use to know one of their citizens who speaks English that was into that some few years ago but haven't met him since this my last visit

Funny enough, The ivory coast you talked about is mainly dependent on agriculture. Their roads àre so sweet and their police and immigration are very good too. Many African countries have left us behind when it comes to good life and good governance.

Yes of course. Ivory Coast is where I'll live if I master my French. I like that country so much. And many igbos are there doing business in peace, building houses and driving sweet cars.

And they have no animosity towards Nigerians at all. Maybe because it's French and our people are too lazy to learn a new language, and also because it's farther than Ghana.

Which makes it even better for me. The fewer the Nigerians, the better. I was ther two years ago. And feel like going back today, but the responsibilty wey de my neck now eh, na giant forklift fit lift am comot. Adulthood na scam cry

That is the very reason for constituents in Nigeria to prosper and develop, Nigeria has to divide. Apart from the US, there is no heteregnous country that is very prosperous and safe. Brazil is a case study of that. Homogenous societies that are prosperous tend to be very safe than hetergenous societies that are also prosperous.

My mom has preached it for donkey years to my siblings and me that Francophone countries in West Africa are better off than Nigeria if one wants to live a simple and safe life. She said those places are safe, clean and life is easy without stress. That if no be marriage and raising children, she would have moved there. After all, she speaks fluent French and was her set's best graduating student in French. Then, I used to argue, of course, with puerlie points.

Last year, I watched some videos showcasing the elite parts of the city, and one feature I noticed was no open gutters. The elite places I have seen in Nigeria with closed gutters aka well pedestrian streets, are some parts of Abuja and gated estates in parts of Lagos, and one gated estate in Port-harcourt. The rest? OPEN GUTTERS! Recently, she advised I build/buy a house in Benin Republic (Cotonou, precisely). But my fear is how safe the country would be should Nigeria descend into a war. Benin Republic would be overflooded with refugees. Ukraine's situation would be a child's play.

My brother if there's a war in Nigeria is quite different from if there's war at Benin republic... If you are capable bro what are you waiting for??... Build or buy your house and bring mum over there for vacation once in a while.

Nigeria will not work out no matter how we try, we are so diverse and have a very deep hatred for one another... It's so unfortunate that the likes of Babagida took us from regional govt to this quack federalism we are practicing because the north lacks oil. Since then nothing has prospered in Nigeria.

Only if we can go back to Regional govt, and each region using what they have to develop one another.... Or else Nigeria would never work as one, imagine what transpire at today national elections. It's certain that we are heading for collapse.

So I'll rather be at that Benin republic and watch Nigeria from afar than be here witnessing all this hatred.
