Victor Osimhen: "I was training and someone said: 'Do you know which player you remind me of?' I told him no, and he said go on the internet and type in: 'Didier Drogba'. It was then that I fell in love with this player. Watching him influenced my game so much, and that helped me improve." πŸ’ͺ

Update: An Appreciation Post For Ibrahim ' Beji' Muhammad; The Teenager With The Flying Rocket Goal Against Mozambique πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ¦…

The lad is a delight to watch, his confidence when facing opposition defenders speaks volume.

Against Mozambique, prior to his goal, he collected a pass from defender Solomon Agbalaka, touched the ball once and fired from more an unbelievable distance; giving the Goalkeeper no chance at all.

He's a 🐐 in the making

I won't take the hyping too serious.. Nwakali isn't the first player that Thegoodjoe and Thesupernerd particularly have hyped well here.. It even appear more like encouragement than hyping... Players like Iheanacho and Osimhen were in such position when they were going through a rough phase in their careers.. Myabe because Nwakali own is taking too long that's why people find the hype annoying. But I can assure you, it's not just on this thread... I remember vividly after that Atletico Madrid game, so many fans on social media were clamoring for Nwakali to be in the world cup squad based on that performance.. Even when his name appeared in the AFCON list, there was jubilation in some quarters... Undoubtedly, many people remember how good he was back then ..

I agree, he hasn't hit the heights expected of him, but as far as the super eagles is concerned, especially the midfield, we need all hands on deck...if he was a striker, nobody would care because we have an abundance of strikers now... Maybe if we can land Eze or Oliseh this year, the talks of Nwakali getting called up will die down... Until then, let's not pretend that our midfield needs reinforcement and a player like Nwakali could be of help ..

When we were badly in need of a goalkeeper,Rohr went to the Spanish third division to fetch Uzoho...he also got Okoye from the German 4th division.. Jamilu Collins came to provide reinforcement at left back from the German second division too...

Hypocritical bigoted double standard.

A large number here have given me dogs abuse garnished with vitriolic bitter rhetoric.

About players who l said were good prospects for the SE at the TIME. Namely;

Fred Onyedinma
Tega Onomah
Chuks Aneke
Oviemuno Ejaria
Dominic Iorfa

To mention but a few there were many others , many here have dismissed them poured out bitter abuse against them, claimed they are not good enough, the league quality is very poor, etc

Apart from Oviemuno Ejaria, when I could see they had not made good progress in their clubs and league l also dismissed them. Some of them I've not talked about for over 4/5 years.

However, many of you keep making reference to them. Irrespective of the fact I no longer talk about them and have not for a very long time.

However, you have no problems talking about Nwakali non stop πŸ›‘ for the past 8 years going from one level of mediocrity to another lower level of retrogression.

Now compare these players I have written off to the midfield maestro Nwakali who is the only Nigerian who can hit a accurate long ball, according to many here. Let's not consider the fact that this is Spanish football ⚽ where the Long ball is not part of thier football culure and or strategy.

Has Nwakali done better in any way shape or form than those largely forgotten players by me❓❓ in my opinion, NOT AT ALL.

I think the lack of proper creative midfielders too is part of the problem, solving that will improve our play. When you watch our matches, there's always an over reliance on wingers to create or score, few line breaking through passes from midfield.

There is not a lack of creative Midfielders.

What you have faile to understand, the games has evolved and top teams have different strategies that doesn't always include a creative Midfielder.

This is a why you will not see Grealish and or Mahrez running thr show as they use to do in their former clubs now they are in Manchester city.

This is not about sentiments but selecting our best passers. Unless we don't want to use our best passers. Let our best passers play in midfield and we will keep the ball better and create chances better.

If our best passers are not in top leagues scout the lower leagues and play them.

We can go to lower leagues to get Keepers and full backs. However, to do that for midfield, it has become a taboo.

It may be unknown to you πŸ™‚

But the best players play in the best teams and leagues. And if they are not 🚫 there is a reason.

Undoubtedly there are exceptions but in general best players best Clubs and leagues.

I'm talking about our midfielders creating scoring chances together with the wingers as opposed to only wingers before. Mahrez and Grealish are not wingers last time I checked.

Oga, before a player end up in best club n league,he must have played somewhere else.
Prior to playing in best club, does that make them inferior players.
Don't u think that a good national coach can scout out some of those players before the best clubs n integrates them into d team especially in d area where a talent is lacking.

U won't think now, next thing u will start throwing delusional up and down
