Hello everyone,
I did my test last week and I had 8.5,8,7,7.5(LRWS)

I practiced listening and reading with ieltsonlinetests and for speaking & writing, i used IELTS Jay, E2 and IELTSLiz.

Thanks

Congrats.
I’ve got some questions I need clarity on if you don’t mind.
Did you sat for computer based or paper?
Also i registered for the computer type, and I’m considering switching to paper, do you think that’s possible ?
Re: IELTS: Share Your Experience, Ask Your Questions, Tell Us Your Score If You Can. by Chinzzyy: 10:18am On Feb 28, 2023
I'd advice anyone against remarking. Remarking i applied for since 2nd January hasn't come out till now. Moreover you cannot remark reading and listening, its highly unlikely they made a mistake with that and if by a rare chance they did, it may just be one question or 2 which wouldn't make any difference to your score. I advise you to write again. My 2 cents... practice seriously and write again

Abeg oo, how can I go about remarking, can I remark writing, reading and listening? This exams wan show me shege.

Hello bro, you can ask your questions.

I sat for the computer based exam.

I’m not so sure, you can contact your exam center, but why do you want to switch to paper, if i may ask?

I just have this anxiety as regards the writing module. I feel typing will slow me down compared to writing.

Although most essays practice I have done with typing format have proved otherwise, I was able to reach the word count and still have enough to revisit my work. I just have this cold feet

Well, there's really nothing to be anxious about. I'd suggest CBT to avoid cases of illegible writing etc.

you can practise and time yourself with the writing aspect on your personal system.

PS - I had the same cold feet with writing but as long as you adhere to the writing standards, you'd be fine. Also try writing slightly above the word count for Tasks 1 and 2

I wish you best of luck and look forward to celebrating your results grin

plus check out IELTS Jay and E2 on YouTube, they really helped me out as I didn't have enough time to get a personal tutor to guide me neither did I write any essays pre-exam.

Good day everyone. How long does it take for the CBT result to come out? When do they normally fix the date for the speaking in CBT? Is it the same day as the other sections?

Good evening. Please how long does it take for the CBT results to come out? In addition, is the speaking test done on the same day as the other tests. Your response will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, it took about 3-5 days after the test.

For the speaking, I did mine same day as the other sections. But you can choose to do it on a different day, depending on the availability

Good morning, please what is VAT/NIP number in Ielts registration (just before payment)?
Should I leave it blank and proceed to payment?

You can give it a try but just know it may take a while, like 2 or more months before the result comes out
Re: IELTS: Share Your Experience, Ask Your Questions, Tell Us Your Score If You Can. by Chinzzyy: 1:01am On Mar 05, 2023
Thank the lord.
I just got my eor result today, i applied since 2nd January. That is, two months and 6 days after i applied, mehn i was almost loosing hope.

Anyway my final result is, LRWS ( 8.5, 7.5, 7.5, 8 ) overall 8, and it's my first time writing the exam too.
My eor was for my speaking, i needed an 8, i got 7.5 previously, so that changed, thank God.

My advice for the exam, practice, practice, practice. Download official past ielts textbooks from ieltsgame.com, use that to practice your reading and listening. Use ieltsliz.com to practice writing. Read all the high band essays she has on her site and try to recreate yours. Also try and download official answer sheet for writing too, its gives you an idea how 150+ and 250+ words look like (you may not have time to count during exams, trust me).
Watch youtube videos at night if you have the youtube night plan, use youtube to understand difficult questions that are giving you problems. I watched all ieltsliz videos on youtube.
If you work. Come back home, do all you have to do, sleep early, and wake up in the early hours of the morning to practice. For speaking, record yourself speaking multiple times, try to pace your speaking, dont speak too fast and always give reasons for your answers.
Finally. Pls make a timetable for yourself and try to follow it, every day focus on one module.
I believe 2 weeks of serious study, can get you your desired score. Also another thing i did, i abandoned social media for one week before my exams because i knew it was my biggest distraction. I also sent my kids to my parents the week before my exams. Just take the exam serious and you won't have to do it twice

Congratulations!
Great tips on acing the exam.
Quick question: In your opinion, how long do you think one can intensively prepare from ZERO before he's ready to write the exam and ace it?

2 months, one month if you're going to be serious and practice a module 4 hours everyday. I used 2 months though. Truth is i became really serious 2 weeks to the exam

I am a silent follower of this thread. I want to appreciate everyone for their inputs, it has really been of immense help.

I took the ielts exam on the 10th of feb (cbt). The result was out on the 6th day...
L 7.5
W 6.0 (needed a at least 6.5)
R 8.0
S 7.0

Applied for EOR. Had to pay 44,750 since it was ukvi. After series of mails and disturbances, i was told to resubmit my details for confirmation, two days later i got a mail that my writing module has been increased to 6.5

Fastrack ielts was by far the most helpful youtube resource.

Ielts practice band 9 app, also came in handy

ieltsonlinetests.com, helped in timing and cbt simulation
