When we did the Oben AG compression station construction job for seplat between 2015 to 2017; I wasn't surprised when I found out an ibo man owns the company. From top to bottom were all ibo guys working as supervising engineers. Please don't get me wrong here o, I am not faulting the owner for doing that because if you check other companies in Nigeria the majority of workers there are always a representation of the tribe of the owners. Nigeria that is even a country, visit most federal parastatals like NNPC and it subsidiaries you will know the tribe that owns Nigeria. 10 Likes 1 Share |

budaatum: Again, it's only those who wear that shoe who know where it pinches. Let me make a last attempt to make you understand that even if Seplat hires only two Nigerians, they shouldn't face discrimination on their own soil, their government should not be complicit as it has always been the case. What you don't seem to know is that news travel fast among expat across the country. When you know that there could be consequences for racism, you will focus on your business of coming to Nigeria which is WORK. It has nothing to do with the higher employer is Labour in Nigeria. 2 Likes 1 Share |

budaatum: Do you know what a visa is? And what privileges visa confers on the holder? His Visa, work permit and residence permit were all revoked. He can't stay nor work in Nigeria. He has no choice. Yes, he can apeal the court order, however, he can't stay nor work in Nigeria until he get another visa and work permit. 1 Like 1 Share |

oilykid: Let him be please, I have been reading his words and I see how he forcefully tries to paint one SS and another SE. He is stupid and a Tribal he-goat which is even worst seeing a lot of people reading his comments and accepting every word hook and sinker. His words gives him up for the person he actually is and that is a stupid tribal idiot with an obsession about Igbos and also one of those championing the SS and SE nonsense we see everyday on Nairaland. 3 Likes |

sisisioge:Leave that matter. SEPLAT is majorly owned by 3 companies. Shebah, M&P and Platforms petroleum. All of these companies appoint their representatives to the board. it is not the CEO that appoints board members, it is the shareholders. That is how the boardroom works. All these allegations are just bullshit. It is a power tussle between the 2 Nigerian companies that own SEPLAT (Shebah and Platform). 5 Likes 2 Shares |

OkoAmarashy:Your analysis is biased obviously because you are leaning towards Austin as he may be from your region. I am Igbo, but anyways I am not going to support Orjiako neither am I going to put him under the bus. You said Austin has another oil company, same with Orjiakor. It was Orjiakor's Company and Austin's Company that together to form Seplat. Orjiakor may be a surgeon butr he is no baby in the oil industry. Secondly, you said there are financial scandals in Seplat for which Orjiakor would have been in jail. Do you think a Chairman can pull off financial scam without the CEO? In most cases, a CEO wields so much power that nothing can happen without his consent. Orjiakor may be a dirty player, but Avuru aint no saint either. They are just playing their politics. Austin has his men in Seplat, ABC has his men. They are just in supremacy battle. 7 Likes 1 Share |

MadarasBlade:Are you minding the dude. That guy has been spewing false narrative since in this thread. ABC Orjiakor who recently retired chairman and was replaced by Omiyi, an non-Igbo guy is who they are calling a tribalist. Seplat that is listed on both the stock exchanges of Lagos and London cannot be perceived to be playing tribalism in the recruitment processes. This whole issue is bothered around Roger Brown. Though I hope Roger Brown is not guilty of what he stands accused of. That guy is top class technocrat. 2 Likes |

budaatum: He didn’t complain of racism did he?so nobody bullied him. You know this but you just want to argue for reasons best known to you. We always read how Chinese and foreign companies treat Nigerian staff anyhow and people have been so scared to fighting them but now finally people have started to fight back and you act like you don’t know what’s going on. |

tshtsh: Really? Wow! That's crazy. And they have a posh image outside. Instead of these infightings why not run a private company? To be frank that's why I love private companies. The likes of JCB, Liebherr & Kohler. Although these firms took years to build capital, Board room infightings are less messier. And Public firms are in a haste to build/distribute capital. |
