1. I disagree! Hypergamy isn't a scam at all. What is instead a scam is hypogamy as practiced by men who are themselves living below the poverty line. No non-middle-class fellow should be considering hypogamy.

Here's how it goes for MOST Naijas abroad - they're busy working overtime probably at some menial job AND saving and sending money. They have neither the time nor the money to be doing all this toasting you are talking about. PLUS they have to scale racial prejudice, cultural differences, and the natural hypergamousness of women. Only a certain class of women would be open to most of them, and usually it's not the type of woman you'd want to marry - unless for paper. Even at that, many Nigerians have to PAY a girl for fake marriage for paper because they can't find even a low class girl to marry.
They go back to Naija to marry because that's their best option, not because of any of these other things you think.

Nobody says that. It is just how women are naturally - they have an inate desire to marry up. If they can't satisfy that desire they may settle as they get older, but they won't be happy about it!

I'm not sure you know the import of the word MOST which I wrote in capital letters. This discussion is why many Nigerians go home to marry. Most people think it's to satisfy people or parents or this or that, when it's simply because that's their best option. And many Nigerians can't even afford to go home, so either they stay unmarried or they marry whoever they can marry abroad.
As for money, it's important because time is money. You can't be working all the time and saving and sending money, and same time have time for all sorts of toasting and schmoozing with girls, and all the expenses that go with it. When in Nigeria you'd have lots of time, plus your money will go further, plus better girls will regard you more. It's common sense.

This is social behaviors not a law. It is not a must and acceptable to all societies.

And also while I agree on hypergamy. Financal status is not the only yardstick for hypergamy. it is just one do must not be made to look or seem like the only way hypergamy works.

Hypergamy is not about Finances in the real psychological sense bt higher value.

Value can mean anything from physical height to physical strength to intellect to money.

My friend you are wrong. Most abroad guys of today would rather marry a white girl if they could. Problem is, you have to first find the girl. See my screenshots above. Women are hypergamous by nature everywhere. A bitter truth is that an African in US, UK or such is automatically of lower status just by that fact alone. Add to that that many of them do lower status jobs and have funny accent. It's almost like expecting an Hausa gateman in the SE to marry a decent Igbo girl. If the African has a high status job or is a footballer or such, then that's different. And if you notice, such people rarely go home to marry a first wife!
