I had 9k of old notes, when many rejected I finally saw one aboki that accepted to take it, I burnt all the money on suya. If not of Buhari, wetin go make me buy suya of 9k. I left the jungle with 62k+ cash. Threw it away three weekends ago and left 1k in my box for future reference. What a world!! But then, no regrets cus I do not plan to visit the country any moment from now so it will always expire at some point. |

What used to sell for ₦500, for example, they took ₦1k of the old notes and the exact sum for the new notes. Now, the old notes are scarcer than the new notes. |

Lost kwa?throughout the whole madness I never spent a dime withdrawing via POs agents nor spent any depositing and I didn’t spend an 1hr trying to do this at the bank. I got(1k X 5 new notes)5000 naira at the beginning of that madness and I was able to retain 4k out of that sum the very day I got the money I got to the hall late and the bank said they were out of cash we’re only giving 1k,2k old and dirty 100 and 200 Naira denominations but that very I got crisp 5k new notes. I knew no one can condemn my hard earned naira not Emefiele and not even Buhari so I didn’t believe in that old notes nonsense I knew in due time i would be able to spend or deposit my money the small old notes i had then.So I wasn’t arsed. |

I lost 11,000 trying to deposit 300k.I actually went to CBN headquarters in Abuja; security directed us back to our commercial institutions, First Bank said they've not receive any directives to re -accept the old notes.Someone use Zenith to deposit it for me and they chargee 11k for the job. Don't blame me for keeping it after deadline,we were using it in Niger State until Buharis statements that made everyone stop accepting it. Na market woman I be God bless our hustle. 1 Like |

Since we’ve been taking everything so serious , what have we achieved with our collective ‘seriousness’? In your head, you think if I lost such amount of money, nairaland is the go to place to rant?. My brother, one yoruba adage says, when a problem is more than what crying can solve , laughing might solve it. And yes no sensible person will exonerate Buhari whom we voted for and put all the blames on cbn governor who was appointed and only working on directives of FG. On another side, cashless policy is good but I really don’t think Nigerians are ready for it besides government should have put measures in place to cushion the effect of the policy on us.
