Top players like Osimhen need to start declining invitations if the NFF will not do the right thing . You can't function optimally as a player is you are surrounded by mediocre players.

Why frustrate a potentially great team by including fringe and out of form players because you want to do a few players some favours?

Now, I understand those French women players that walked out of the team due to the coach's system.... But you see, if we replicate such in the men's team, it could create bad blood... One thing about Nigerians, especially those in power is that they will always find a way to abuse it, and when you try to deal with them from the bottom, they will get back at you one way or the other...it is why Nigerian and indeed many African leaders hardly ever resign from their positions once they're caught in any wrongdoing

Yes.

They aren't even NNL players, they are clubs used by NFF folks to launder players. It's basically an academy designed for that purpose.

If u are going to invite academy players why not victor eletu of ac milan academy. Oŕ ebenezer akinsanmiro of inter Milan academy. I yhink we have a big coaching problem.
And then someone is imposing players on the coach.
Where is Raphael onyedika. We need him in our midfield

Nice one.
I learnt he's also eligible for Togo. Who knows the kind of ties he has with that country.

Whether he is actually a Togolese with a Nigerian passport, we have bullied Togo like how England has been doing to us

My issue is with Bameyi call up when none of our midfielders have played 90 minutes at a go all season (Iwobi aside).

If Iwobi gets injured he will play who at AM, Iheanacho? Peserio is a big fool.

Nwakali, and Kingsley Micheal deserve to be called up!

Onyeka, and Ndidi are prone to injury and just getting back to full fitness and you want them to play 180 minutes in 5 days when you have Etebo and Onyedika? Crazy shit!

I am sorry, we will be lucky to take 3 points from the games.

I even forgot about Etebo.... All that globetrotting that Peserio did during the world cup didn't really teach him anything...

Super Eagles very uninspiring list

Ahmed Musa as usual gets his reserved spot

Joe Aribo who doesn't even make bench the last few months, Frank Onyeka and Ndidi who just got back from injury make up 3 of the only 4 midfielders

Imagine having a YumYum players, captain of the worst u20 team we've fielded in recent time making the list.

This team is based on personality not form. If a player like Emmanuel Dennis had at least a good personality he will be in the team like Ahmed Musa is on that list. It's a shame Dennis brought on himself. I wish him all the best and hope he gets to revive his career if he wants. On the other hand, he might move to the middle east and earn some cool cash there. But again he doesn't know how to submit himself in regulating and controlling environments.

And this is why I have a problem with Nigerian football, it's a conundrum of so many things wrong when it comes to that country and the way things are run...on what rational and logical basis are ONLY 4 midfielders still getting invited for goodness sake? a midfield completely devoid of any creative spark short of Iwobi who is at best currently a player that just does the basics with no significant trajectory of growth to his game...then are we going to talk about the abject form of Aribo who hasn't played a single minute in almost half a season for a struggling Southampton team? wasn't he recently demoted to the Southampton U23 team? I'm an Ndidi fan but when last was Ndidi even in good form for Leicester? it's either one injury or another for Ndidi who barely logs in regular minutes of football these days, same with Onyeka who is just barely just getting back into fitness for Brentford ...the most logical thing any SMART coach should have done was INVITE MORE MIDFIELDERS considering the unpredictable form of Ndidi and Onyeka, what happened to Onyedika? Nwakali? Samson Lawal? aren't there at least few decent midfielders in the NPFL that could have made the list for depth? honestly even one or two of the U20 boys could have been called up for depth...Daniel Daga, Onuche and the impressive Jude Sunday kid that scored two goals against Tunisia should have been called up!

Can we talk about the invitation of Bamaiyi who was one of the least impressive players in the U20 AFCON tournament over a far more promising Benjamin Frederick who should be the next big thing in Nigerian youth football? is there some influential Alhaji pulling the strings behind the scene just to appeal to Northern sentiments in this team? which validates the unacceptable and inexplicable reason why a washed up player like Musa is still getting called up in 2023! this guy has served us well and we remain grateful for his services, but common! for goodness sake Musa should be a story for 2018...the guy has been done and dusted for over 5 or more years now, aren't we tired of recycling deadweights in this country?

Why invite an unnecessary of wingers/forwards when just 4 attackers (Osimhen,Moffi, Lookman, Chukwueze) would have sufficed better? even if you were to pick more players in that position, why not invite players like Victor boniface, Chuba Akpom and Nathan Tella who are in form? why invite likes of Paul Onuachu who are tactical mis-fits to a team that already have established forwards anyway? same Onuachu is barely getting minutes in a struggling Southampton!

So many things are just wrong with Nigeria right from our politics to our football, the rot permeates every facet of our socio-cultural life, and the one and only thing that gives me a sense of patriotism for Nigeria which is our football has been rendered useless like everything else...at least our music is the only salvageable goldmine we've got left. I'm tired of venting jare.

Rigging everywhere. And some believe that this country will move forward. Repeating and rinsing the same MF over and over again and expecting a diff result. I guess our opponents will be licking their lips. They only need to win the MF game and we will as usual resort to Osihmen and insha Allah.

The less said about the list, the better. It is now clear that the only reason why a poor quality coach in the person of Pasero was chosen was because he is ready to kowtow to NFF corruption.

Why should Musa continue to take up space on the team in the name of giving guidance to the youngsters? Can't Musa come along as an ex-player to speak to the players when necessary?

Mr. Yum Yum Bamayi is just there to be marketed. No more, no less.

The midfield is a total shame. Etebo and Nwakali should have been brought in as options to bolster what has been our Achilles' heel.

I just weak.

Rohr was a bad coach but he didn't accept so many political call-ups.

I wonder why many of us here are still yet to come to terms with the fact that the head coach has little say in players to call up. I've been saying it since Rohr days and it is obvious again that Peseiro doesn't know yummy so well to just put him up like that. It's all nff handwriting.

For me, the only issue with this squad is Ahmed musa invitation and few midfielders. As for all these Championship or Belgium league players, no sane person will drop the big 3 league players for them and if they want superior league players to be dropped for them, let them prove theirself at superior leagues. Shikena. Super eagles forward is too loaded to be selecting lower league players for except they’re exceptional. We really need to stop invite only 4 midfielders
