PDP Suspends National Chairman, Ayu, With Immediate Effect by Benite(op): 7:29pm On Mar 26, 2023

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu has been suspended by the party.

The suspension of Dr. Ayu was effected by the Ward Executive of the party in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue state.

Addressing the media Sunday, on behalf of Kashi Philip, the Ward Chairman, the Ward Secretary Mr. Vangeryina Dooyum explained that Dr. Ayu was suspended by the Executive for alleged anti party activities.

Reading from a text signed by 12 out of the 17 member Ward Executive, the Secretary stated that the decision to suspend the National Chairman was reached after the leadership reviewed his conduct at the end of the just concluded general elections.

Flanked by the Chairman and other members, the Secretary said, “we observed with utmost dismay that, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu who is the National Chairman of the PDP worked against the success of the party in Igyorov Council Ward.

“It is on record that, he has also failed to pay his Annual Subscription Fees as provided under Section 8 (9) of the constitution of the PDP 2017 (As Amended).

“Further investigation also revealed that, he did not vote during the Governorship and State Assembly Elections held on March 18, 2023.

“It was also discovered that, most of his closest allies worked for the opposition party, the All Progressive Congress, APC, and hence, the abysmal performance of the PDP in Igyorov Ward.

“In view of the foregoing, we hereby pass a Vote of No Confidence on Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and suspend him as a member of our party with immediate effect. The suspension takes effect from March 24, 2023.”

Too late.
This should have been done last year. And what would have been the outcome if Ayu was eradicated last year?

1. Wike wouldn't have decamped. PDP would have won Rivers by a landslide.
2. Obi wouldn't have left the party.
3. PDP would have won majority of states.
4. PDP would have won the presidency.

They shot themselves in the foot. I wonder what was special about him that he wasn't removed earlier

This strategy should have been used by the G5 Governors a long time ago, since they have the Governor of Benue State in their midst. Ayu should have long been suspended before the elections, except if they had kept it as the option of the last resort.

What a waste of suspension.
Ayu that has already been hanged.
It was such a relief that that Ortom's stooge and thug Titus abi na kote didn't become governor.
We had it good in 1992 - 1993 under Rev Fr Moses Adasu.
We look forward to a revival in all facets of Benue in the next 8 years.
I am not a member of the APC but my entire family was and still is YES FATHER!
I'm so glad I fought a good fight.
I'm still waiting for my uncle who chased me with a dagger because I collected PDP's money and campaigned for Alia to come and apologize to me.
That man will not make heaven, I swear!
My mama nearly had a heart attack because of that lunatic threatening to slice my body like a pig.
The scary thing is that the dude is a seller of both live and slaughtered pigs!
I was scared to my bones but the thought of having someone connected to Ortom in the government house for another 8 years gave me more than enough courage and energy to defy all odds and push on with the campaigns even in the presence of the enemies.
