You still don't get it. There is a clear difference between justice in the US and banana republics.
Just because a LEO or prosecutor makes a claim does not make it valid.
They still have to go before the judge to present their evidence and the judges generally don't care
about sentiments. They deal in facts.

Tinubu was even so confident as to fight for the seized money and got the lion share through negotiation.

There are only two possible conclusions.
Kevin Moss is either an incompetent and foolish prosecutor who allows a "guilty" suspect run rings
around him or there was no evidence of criminal activities against Tinubu.
Why won't he be as confident as Pablo Escobar when he fraternized with dubious characters all the time.

So why did Tinubu forfeit money for what he was not guilty of, can you leave your money for your bank to claim just because they said you stole the money without any evidence of you stealing it?

Gani Fawehinmi could see into the future and tried to save Nigeria from the incoming Pharoah and bullion van lover.

Don't mind the clown. You simply summarised the court document.

Even the current CJN previously ruled forfeiture is a crime.
No he didn't.

He said it was one of several possibilities.

So why was money seized and forfeited from him?
Because he didn’t pay tax on his investments in the bank. And he said the bank was normally supposed to remove the tax at source which they did not do. Money removed was the tax on his savings interest.

Banks are not responsible for tax collection even in Nigeria. He formed a company called Compass Investment with the two drug barons Agbele and Akande listed as Directors in the paper work, who Keyamo claimed he mistakenly shared an apartment with. They would have had to meet and sign all the documents and submit it to the FCC of America to register the company.
As a private company you are responsible for remitting taxes to the government when due in any nation and that is not the responsibility of any bank even in Somalia.

If banks were in charge of removing tax at source every single private company will lay off staff working in there tax department.

It was not a fault of Tinubu, it was the fault of his bank. I told you tax is automatically deducted from interest earnings. But the bank did not do that. How can that be a criminal offence on Tinubu?

So why is Tinubu the one paying for it and not the bank, remember when MTN did not register lines in Nigeria, who paid the fine, the customers or MTN?

Now that is even if we agree that it is the bank that is supposed to do the deductions, but it is not what is on the document, like I told you earlier I can send you the link to download the document so you can read for yourself...

You are asking this question because you never lived abroad. If a bank forgot to remove your tax, all they need to do is simply remove the tax from your account without penalising the client. Bank usually will be let off if they can give reasons for their delay in removing the tax for government. Tinubu was not penalised. The tax was just simply removed. That’s all.
