Report her to the police, if you don't she would also do the same to another person, unscrupulous and dishonest Nigerians should be taught a bitter lesson.

You messed by getting rude to her. Now she'll cling onto that and use it as an excuse to not refund your deposit.

If there's a way to leave a review do that.
Getting rude doesn't stop the woman from refunding his money. Been disappointed like that abroad isn't nice... thank God he found a shelter that day, otherwise imagine him sleeping outside..

,@op never pay security deposit until you have signed the lease agreement with the property manager or landlord

We all know rudeness is no excuse. The woman is devious. As soon as OP got rude, she jumped on it. That will now be her defense.
You ladies has a distant reasoning mentality, so because he said his mind, the woman has the right not to refund...

Wow..

I had a very nasty experience with a Nigerian in New Jersey recently. I recently just moved to the United States last Fall for my graduate school in New Jersey. Upon getting to the United States, I stayed with a friend that I have known from university in Nigeria so as to find my bearing as well as deal with transition. After styaing with the friend for a couple of months, I felt it was time to get a place to stay so as to be more independent and face my challenges.
It's certain that she jobbed u...that's y she requests for vulnerable Nigerians... its certain that u are not the first

What are you saying? You sef are part of the problem. Defense? Really?
Someone os trying to scam another person and you're saying you shouldn't be "rude". I no even know the rudeness wey you dey talk. So in court she will tender her justification that she held on to someone else's money because she didn't like how he spoke to herhuh Reallyhuh

She's meant to send him 1200 minimum, for the tome wasted, money to move stuff again and generally frustrating his effort. That's why Nigeria is the way it is today, someone will be doing something very bad, stealing, killing and you speak against it and you will be claiming you're older than the person. Silly people around to will join to say "she fit born am now". Someone is stealing and actively trying to destroy the lives of others and what the silly persons are concerned about is that "you spoke in a rude way"

This is why I hardly associate with Nigerians and hardly join their numerous "meetings" in the States.

When they see white folks, they will be as humble and as loyal as puppies but as soon as they see their fellow Nigerians, they turn tigers and throw caution way to the wind.

Call the cops on the lady to teach her a lesson. Even if you don't have legit papers, the cops will never bother you as long as you don't have criminal record.

Try making friends with the Jewish and enjoy the country.

This is where the problem begins, I thought everyone, at least every nigerian in the , everyone in the United States are straighforward, honest. To my greatest surprise, Some nigerians are genetically wired to be evil-minded, irrational and dishonest. For my House-hunt, I used Facebook market place because that it were i can get cheap and affordable room to rent, and i can also see the person that i am dealing with as well.
After a long search, I was able to get a place for 700$ per month which was quite on the high side but that was the cheapest in that zone. The person renting out the place was a female Nigerian in her late fourties. Upon checking out the room, I felt the palce was worth the price so I agreeed to take the place. The rental, Mrs Rita seemed calm when we met and she explained that she only wnats to rent out the room to a Nigerian because she felt she would be more comfortable living with nigerians. I told her that I want to take she place, and she said I need to pay a security deposit (which is usually the same amount as the monthly rent), which would serve as a sort of assurance/seal the deal.
type well next time

Having paid the rent, I also ordered new mattress and other utilities directly to the apartment, that way, i would save me more cost of moving things. However, things did not turn out as planned, as I have already spend over $1000 for the security deposit, and other utilities delivered to the new address.

Cant you report her to police there.
The police have their hands full here, they do not meddle in civil matters or other matters of deceit like this one. The only time they can arrest the lady is if the guy can prove that she fraudulently collected the money and there was no room for rent in the first place. If there was actually a room in the first place and the lady changed her mind in the end, no be police case. It`s a case for small claims court.

Like, who the hell does that!!! WHO FORCED YOU TO PUT UP THE PLACE FOR RENT IN THE FIRST INSTANCE??

DIDNT YOU THINK ABOUT YOUR DAUGHTER INITIALLYhuh

WHY DID SHE HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE VERY DAY I WAS GOING TO MOVE INhuh

How I was able to get a new place that very day was only GOD! The problem now is how to get my funds back and my other stuffs. After getting a new place, I texted her to send my money asap that I need it to pay for my new place since she no longer want to give out her place.

This evil woman still wanted to frustrate me, and didn't even want to refund my deposit
she did nigeria to u. she found u another room that is cheaper than what she collected from u. she wants to keep the change

You could have go search on Zillow..

This chat shows she’s a scammer..

No house agent would tell you this in USA..

Re: My Nasty Experience With Nigerian In New Jersey by nedekid: 5:31pm On Apr 01, 2023
Oga, take her to small claims court. Get your $100 and some nice damages. Have records of all your expenses, eg Uber, other transport. She go pay.
Is judge judy in that your area?
